I was watching CNN to-day. The death score is Israel in a big lead with 1400 kills while Hamas is trailing badly with only 53. Another UN school in Gaza has been hit with the efficient killing of civilians taking refuge there. The smart money is still on Israel.

The good news for Israelis is that they have taken out the power plants so there is no fresh water or electricity available for the million (minus the dead) civilians in Gaza. The bad news for Israel is that they are running out of bombs and other military ordinance.

OOPS! I was wrong - CNN has just declared that Israel has requested more killing equipment and the USA has complied. This makes Israel the prohibitive favorite for this war at 1400 to 53 or about 28 to 1.

Yes, The USA has agreed to restock Israel with various mortars, grenades etc. I hope they are getting a good price. I wonder if Canada can get some of that action.

BTW - What is the difference between the Russians supplying those rebels in Eastern Ukraine and the USA supplying Israeli troops in Gaza.

Stay turned for another score update and even more political hypocrisy and slaughter of innocents.

Don't worry, Hamas will still claim victory, very loudly as they always do. The more people were "martyred" along the way, the better, in their eyes.

The good news for Israelis is that they have taken out the power plants so there is no fresh water or electricity available for the million (minus the dead) civilians in Gaza.

Considering that all the fuel for the power plants comes from Israel to begin with and that Hamas has failed to spend any effort on building civilian infrastructure, rather wasting all their resources on tunnels and rockets, you should consider twice who blame for this situation.

The bad news for Israel is that they are running out of bombs and other military ordinance.

Unlikely.

Ahh ... so Hamas did not 'forcefully prevent civilians from leaving'.

Thanks for clarifying.

Is that what your main speaking piont is about the score ? If the score had been even would that change how you feel about the sitation now...How you feel about Israel ?

This whole situation has deteriorated into some kind of black comedy. Politicians on all sides are condoning the indiscriminate killing of innocents and claiming to protect people by killing them.

I am glad that Canadians were not involved in trying to get more young girls to be able to go to school in Gaza like we did in Afghanistan. Those in Gaza in school are not faring very well.

We got Israel running out of munitions that they are throwing at Hamas, killing at least 1400 and counting, and the USA still preaches the higher moral ground but restocks the Israeli killing machines!

How do I feel about Israel - that depends on how many Israelis have a conscience.

As to score - do you remember a war where the people on the losing end of the score won the war - and it is the winners who record the initial history of the conflict is it not.

It is not necessarily those who are right or who hold the higher moral ground who win a war - it is the side that has the greater military might. I cannot see how Israel, with the backing if USA armaments, lose this one.

My money is on Israel the way this war is going.

I bet the Iron Dome facilities are located close to civilian areas.

Israel took out Gaza's power plant. And the media center housing several media entities. No missiles there.

Anyways, no matter WHERE Hamas decides to put the rockets, they will be close to civilians. There is no room. And besides, since they cannot have a standing military, what really do you expect? Continued occupation will only result in terrorism.

Why do you think they destroyed the power plant, media centers....they are military targets, as is all infra structure....

So your sugesting that Hamas military faction could not place rockets outside civilian areas because there is no room. that the entire Gaza land mass is full of housing no room any where....Perhaps you could give a site for that I'm looking at some goggle map sources that sugest different........i'm told there is lots of space that could be used to launch rockets....there was a massive green house facility that was built from aid money out of Israel, that once completed and handed over was destroyed by Hamas and their people.....

And your right what do we expect, poor terrorists not even armed properly, so they are given the right to use what ever force nessicary to drive their piont home.....end the occupation....oh wait there is no occupation....so what are they fighting for again....

I wouldn't hold that bet over the long term - don't forget this is a conflict involving several thousand year old land claims on both sides. It will continue thusly until the eventual unsustainable nature of our global economy reduces everyone's ability to produce, export and maintain the flow of the sorts of weapons the Israelis need to maintain their advantage. This war will be concluded using knives, stones, clubs and the sheer numerical superiority of people wielding them.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

It has been a black comedy well before Israel has existed.....people in this region have long memories, and this conflict has created nothing but hate on both sides. And you can blame the politions if you want, but they have been elected by both sides, it is what the people want....it is what drives this conflict.

As long as missles are fired from school yards they will be a target.

I doubt very much that Israel is running out of munitions, they may be restocking but i doubt they are running out....

Yes i do the vietnam war is a prime example....US had a far greater score than the north, and yet at the end it was the north that declared victory....But as a general rule it is the victor that records history, but in todays world history is writen by both sides.

Actually if it was not for US/ european intervention Israel would have ended this long ago....

This conflict needs one side to stop, fighting....that side needs to be Hamas, the Israelis will be forced to stop by the US and european union....until then the score will continue with no end in sight, and the Palestinian people will continue to pay the higher price...

Yes the Media is a military target it is a means of communication, just like cell towers, radio stations, etc ...check the list of targets that were prepared in the gulf war....and you'll see tv, radio stations...

Good question, well it's again'st the genva convention, international law for this very reason it is designed to protect inocent civilians from being attacked.....although there is a list of targets that can not be engaged schools and hospitals is a few of them, unless the enemy is using or hiding in or using them to launch attacks from.....then they can be legally targeted....

But then again Hamas already knows this, and knows the rest of the world will cry foul, when civilians do die....you can't have it both ways....and when you think about it, firing these rockets in the open takes only a few minutes to set up and fire....but then again Israelis Arty shells landing on open ground does not get any media attention does it ?

You're right, they just ordered them not to leave. And we all know what happens to Gazans who don't follow Hamas directives.

You're wrong. Journalists are considered civilians under intentional law. Anyone targeting them would be guilty of war crimes.

Then you won't complain if Hamas decides to take out Israeli power plants? Since you want to consider infrastructure, military targets.

Like TimG said, if Hamas had any means of taking out important Israeli infrastructure, they'd obviously do it.

Israel warned civilians to leave the areas where they were going to be targetting Hamas tunnels and rockets days in advance, thus doing everything they could to reduce civilian casualties. Hamas forcefully prevented civilians from leaving. Get your facts straight.

Tunnels or bunkers for their own people. Where are the bunkers for the poor palastine? there is none. Hamas wants all people out in the open where they can be killed and the Hudson's of the world can blame Israel.

And a question for Hudson, ever read hama's charter? All the answers for what is going on are there to see. Palastine wants peace ,Israel wants peace , hamas wants war until every jew in pushed into the sea. And that Hudson is fact that you can't deny.

Your referring to deaths as some kind of football match score shows a lack of respect to the very Palestinian lives you think you defend.

Your use of the deaths as if they are a football score belittle the meaning of those deaths and renders them a propaganda tool for Hamas-precisely what it wants-death of civilians so people like you wil act as dupes repeating the numbers like an xbox score in Hamas' favour.

What you are in effect stating is Hamas morality wins points for the number of civilians it places in harm's way and get's killed.

Slaughter of innocents?

Do you even know how many deaths reported as Palestinian civilian deaths have in fact not been civilians but Hamas operatives? Well do you? Of course not.

This is a friggin tragedy for both sides. One death of an innnocent on either side is too many deaths.

Hamas is going to kill as many innocents as possible by putting them in the line of fire, so that they die, pile up and then incite arm people like you to blindy knee jerk react knee jerk react in Hamas' favour.

I am not sure what is more loathsome Hamas for deliberately placing these civilians in harm's way or you allowing yourself to become a cheer leader for their actions.

Just recently another UNWRA school was blown up killing 15 kids.

Hamas right before the UNWRA building was blown up short missiles and mortars at the IDF next to that school and then ran like the cowards they were. They deliberately used the school.

Spare me your hypocracy over Israel firing back but not addressing what Hamas did.

No the IDF will not sit on their asses as Hamas hides next to the UNWRA school and fires at them.

In the real world people die because Hamas like the cowards they are shoot from behind these civilians then run leaving them in a hail of bullets to die. Its a tiresome method of operation and it works because people like you are only to willing to cheer them on.

Israel loaths having civilians die but they will finish this against Hamas. The tunnels will be blown up and Hamas will be paralyzed from sending in rockets daily and using its people as shields and using the Gaza as a launching pad against Israel.

Why can't refugees flee through Israel?

I presume because they would present a security risk. Dunno. Wouldn't it be easier to go to Egypt?
