Hats off to the moderators for finally taking my advise!

Sex subject heading is the way to go.

Looks like my prediction about this forum going belly up by 2016 was off!

Never thought the moderators here would ever do it

WWWTT

Yeah, ha ha, and free advice is worth what you pay for it. But ya kno if I want to see a porn sight Im sure I could find one. Do we really need another one here...

Unhuh, but this wasn't a back door way of equating me with someone who has been condemned by almost everyone for his anti homosexual law?

Equating ? I'm not sure if I was seen as saying your views are equal to those of the governor, but I'm trying to put context and perspective on what it means to question equal rights. This is what I explained in my posts above.

Look, you seemed to take issue with being "called out" for questioning "founding ideals". This is what I was responding to. You seem to be taking offense, so let me point out that I have no idea what your personal views are on this but that anybody who posts views that are far from the mainstream can expect to be called out. That's all.

The Governor of Indiana experienced the same response, and that's why I brought him up.

i don't want to be called a bigot for disagreeing with any aspect of someones interpretation of feminism.

Well, you may indeed be called sexist if you state that, for example, women are inferior. Nobody would be shocked if someone affixed that label to you.

So facilitator, go back, parse my posts, and find any serous post I've made that is anti gay, good luck, or maybe you could just apologize for making that connection, as you knew damn well what you were doing.

I apologize heartily if anybody inferred that I was calling you a racist, or a sexist. What I was doing is explaining that nobody gets a free pass to post whatever they want, while getting their feelings protected lest they be offended.

What bothers me a lot and I'm not sure why we can't see members who are private Why is it such a secret to be able to view and contribute to threads but members can't see who they are. Seems highly a pecking order syndrome and provides superiority feelings to certain members. Can someone explain the advantages to this ridiculous perk.

Ummm..... ^...what are you talking about?

Private members? Huh?

We have members that can contribute to threads but we don't know they are signed in or viewing. They are invisible. They don't have to show up at the bottom of members signed in. Edited by WestCoastRunner

So basically bc can be signed in all day and contribute but we have no idea he is lurking.

I just think that adding more transparency for when members can become invisible and why that is a necessity and what are the benefits to the member and to the forum at large?

It seems like a multi layer membership to me and I'd like to know the advantages to this if I were to continue posting to this forum?

Sure they do .

They sign in, they post, they go elsewhere......just like I did after posting to you.

One can log out and lurk without one knowing that person is doing so . Ive done it many times. So what?

Um....I dont think you have any valid point here.

No one has benefits beyond anyone else perhaps MH does but he is a semi-Mod.

That's not true guyser. I'm not a fool.

There are certain members that do not show up on the list of members posting even if they are actively posting. I want to know the rules to achieve that attainment.

Im not so sure about that.

Please tell us how they do that when it is abundantly clear one has to sign in.

I'm no fool guyser. I only need the rules spelled out here to prove I'm right.

There are certain members we never see logged in. I want to know the rules behind that.

In order to post, you need to log in. The front page may only show who logged in last, it may not show ALL who are logged in. A better understanding of how a website works would be beneficial for you.

I know how websites work. I have worked in the IT industry for a very long time. Check out the status of bc and others. They are private members. You never see them at the bottom of the page. I can't believe you haven't noticed this before. Oh well.

Let's dispel this and have our moderators add feedback. I will take their feedback for the truth.

Glad you didn't say demi-mod. He'd be running around beating minataurs......stealing golden fleeces, etc.

What does it matter if you see that they're logged in?

Why can't I see them logged in? Are they special?

Log out, then when you go to log back in, there's a box you can check to sign in anonymously..........be forewarned though, once you attempt this, you're transformed into a Conservative WASP middle aged male......

Oh yes she does have a valid point. BC lurks, trolls as he always does, and he can start updates that stop certain people from posting to. The mods here are rather one sided as has been pointed out any times before . But I think most of us, Shady excluded, have BC,s number and deal accordingly.

I'll check into it. If that is the case, then I suggest everyone have a private profile.
