When Coyne is on, he is really on.

Ironically, Coyne shares many of the same low-tax, small-government sentiments as Ford Nation. However, unlike Ford Nation, he has the intellectual capacity and intellectual honesty to see clearly how the people who built Ford Nation (and their big brother, the Canadian Conservative Coalition) have done so in a way that has corrupted the political process.

I have deep philosophical differences with much of what Coyne stands for but I also have deep admiration for a guy who can think independently from his political "team".

I agree with all of this. Coyne's views differ pretty sharply from my own in many ways. But obviously there's nothing wrong with that. I think he's principled, and can be insightful.

I would have thought that anyone who downed a full bottle of vodka in two minutes would either heave it right back up or find themselves in hospital with alcohol poisoning.

The more I hear about this guy the more I seem to like him.

I had an inlaw that drank himself to death when he wasn't much older than Ford. I liked him to.

Ford needs to stop trying to fight a battle he can't win and start fighting one thst can save his life.

What are the odds? Is there anyone that Ford will listen to other than his mother. She thinks he just has a weight problem.

Show me evidence that supports your claim: I doubt you can.

Ford has been abusing taxpayer money by using his office budget for personal items and using his staff as personal servants for him and his family and his (former) football team.

He's shown no respect whatsoever for taxpayers.

Ford was sued because using several official letterhead paper for "abusing taxpayer money", but others who make themselves a full time job to against Ford and try to prevent him from working, and they do this work with the salary from tax payer money. That is much much abusing taxpayer money.

Ford did a lot for everyone, what those who against him did are for themselves.

Over his 10 years as a councillor, Ford paid office expenses from his own pocket. For make councillors agree to limit their annual expenses to $30,000 from $50,445 in December 2010, that can be the first reason that they want remove Ford from his office. They are not for taxpayer, they are for themselves.

Ford declared TTC essential, when TTC stop, all surface transportation become disaster, Ford did that for all the people in the city, those who against him are for themselves.

Ford repealed the unpopular vehicle tax that introduced by David Miller, Ford did it for all Torontoians, those who against him are for themselves.

There is no tax increase in Toronto in 2011.

Ford made a private Garbage collection contract covers some 165,000 households between Yonge St. and the Humber River. The city saves money because the contract workers are paid less than the city paid its own staff, who have either been redeployed or laid off. People in the city benefited, not only because the cost saved, but also they need not to breath the smells during the garbage worker strike. those who against him are for themselves.

Ford ask for build Scarborough subway, that will greatly improve the transportation condition, instead of LRT, that is still above ground that cause big traffic problems.

Those who keep on knocking Ford are abuse the salary that taxpayer give them for years by doing nothing meaningful to the people who live in the city. They should leave office and leave the space for those who do real work instead of just attacking others in their work time.

Ford was sued because using several official letterhead paper for "abusing taxpayer money",

Much more expensive and offensive than that: He had staff doing work for his football team, one of them full time, paid out of your pocket. He peddled his influence as Mayor to solicit donations from potential city contractors.

but others who make themselves a full time job to against Ford and try to prevent him from working, and they do this work with the salary from tax payer money. That is much much abusing taxpayer money.

Yes Ford's irrational and out of control behaviour is costing the taxpayers a lot of money.

Ford has by far the largest office budget. Let's see if he agrees to have it stripped away tomorrow.

"Those who do real work" ... ?

Are you referring to Rob Ford hanging out doing drug deals, chugging vodka and driving around the city drunk during the work day ... ?

Yes Ford's irrational and out of control behaviour is costing the taxpayers a lot of money.

Those who don't do real work always blame others for the reason to explain why they don't do real work.

Acutally, without Ford, they don't do real work too.

Subway topic last for decades, no agreement made.

If I were the boss, I will certainly fire those people, but as a taxpayer, what I can do is only give them money and look at them make blame as their full time work.

Actually, no one force them to attack Ford, they could choose work on economy issues and other real issue that affect much more people instead of a personal issue, but they did not.

That's why I said they abuse the salary taxpayers give them.

Bad traffic cost me more time and money, current, I spend 20 minutes for a 5 minute long street in Scarborough, each day,, that is 75 hours a year of life, many other people cost their life in this way. It also cost money on gas which is not green. If Sherpard subways goes to Zoo several years ago, it could cost much less than now. But it did not. In Beijing, in Shanghai, more than 10 lines of subway lines has been built in each city in the last 10 years. But in Toronto, it is still unknown.

Remaining mayor is the least of Ford's problems. Hopefully he will come to understand that very soon.

Ford declared TTC essential.

He does not have that power.

Ford ask for build Scarborough subway, that will greatly improve the transportation condition, instead of LRT, that is still above ground that cause big traffic problems.

It won't improve the transport in that area at all. The proposed subway has less stops than the present LRT line; people will thus have to travel farther on other vehicles above ground--out there, busses--to get to the nearest subway station. That actually means more vehicles on the roads out there than there is currently. The Scarborough LRT runs entirely apart from any road--in parts above ground, on the ground in a right-of-way, and underground. Any new LRT can use the same bloody path already there.

It will be an exercise not worth the vast cost. The population density just isn't enough to make the price of a subway worthwhile. It's downtown that more lines are needed, not out in the boonies; coincidentally, where most of Ford's supporters reside.

[D]rinking at work????

Do you mean drinking at work or during work? At my place of employment we drink at work, after work. But, even then, there's no real issue with drinking during work--it's common in parts of Europe (and used to be here)--except doing it to excess.

We know why Rob Ford doesn't: He's too busy buying drugs and drinking and driving.

Ford told FOX that he hopes to be PM one day.

http://o.canada.com/news/rob-ford-on-fox-news-i-am-seeking-professional-help/

Ford also apparently has higher ambitions than the Toronto mayoralty, as revealed in a full transcript of his appearance obtained by the Toronto Star, telling Roberts Yes, one day I do want to run for prime minister.

Well I think it's clear now that the man is truly delusional.

I hope his health care team is paying attention.

All of this seems like highly unfair criticism. "Canada's Party Mayor" has brought Toronto the international spotlight that it has always craved! Ford is helping do away with that stodgy "Toronto the Good" image and create an image that is more current, sort of like the fictional city of Los Santos in "Grand Theft Auto".

A reporter out of TO, said that a councilor got a call about children at school, are playing Cops and Ford and wanting to know how you drink cocaine. This is the reason ANY council in this province needs a law to kick mayors out like Ford, since he won't even leave to get help.

Today Rob Ford went on the John Oakley show in full denial and previewing his show tonight.

This is a man in full denial.

He stated he was at the football game yesterday and people swarmed him with love.

I am not sure what was more pathetic, his anti-social, narcissistic personality disorder on full display this morning or

the people calling in after saying he is a martyr because of his political views.

Its bad enough he is mentally ill, but what is scary is how many people will follow a mentally ill person and suspend

their rational thought processes and buy into his sickness.

I love his reasoning-he's a scum bag but I mean come on aren't we all?

To me the lowest thing he did today again was repeatedly refer to himself as a good family man, who goes home every night to his wife, and plays with his children every night.

This is someone who will exploit his family as a prop but in the next breath say the press must leave them alone and he sees no disconnect in repeatedly using his family as a prop.

Rob Ford exhibits a classic anti-social personality disorder complete with the narcissistic delusions.

His anti-social, addictive, obsessive compulsive, anxiety, depressive disorders are all blatant and obvious.

The pathological lying is in fast drive. What I heard this smoking in the repeated coughing was someone who just just finished smoking crank before going on the radio. The repeated coughing was classic crank throat.

This guy is something else. l/4 t 9 in the morning and he barely can speak with the coughing from the crank and then people respond right after him defending him as a martyr.

Nothing surprises me. The sad thing is, the longer he stays in office, the more a certain segment of the population will see him as a voice for smoking dope, crank, driving while being drunk, abusing one's family, etc.

The message he is sending is repulsive.

For him to have tried to portray himself this morning as a loving family man to me is a tell tale sign of just how abusive he is at home. Its a horrible window into the man's dark side the way he is now using his family as a prop.

I really do think they should call an election. He's stating he would win it if they called one. It is time to call his bluff. We need to stop being so Canadian, and turf this fat phuck out. Oh that was inappropriate. I am sure he can appreciate such language though.
