But the President can't go around getting politically-slanted talk-shows canceled just because they're critical of him and holding up corporate mergers of media companies waiting for guarantees to reduce the political slants of some of their shows because the criticize the POTUS. This is authoritarianism.

The public safety excuse is a lie. People complained so they cancelled/denied the permits based on public pressure in order to be politically correct. The government is now deciding what speech should and shouldn't be allowed to be said in PUBLIC venues. Maybe a whole bunch of people in Canada don't agree with his views, that's fine, but anti-LGBT and anti-abortion speech based on mainstream Christian religious beliefs is Charter-protected speech, as is pro-Trump speech. This isn't the USSR. Or maybe it's slowly creeping closer to it?... These are the quotes this artist has said. These beliefs are pretty standard for ardent Christians: "The demonic, sick, and twisted agenda of drag queens is perverting the minds of children." (Tweet from 2024) โThe radical left is pushing perverse ideologies on our children, from drag queen story hours to transgender indoctrination in schools." "Pride Month is a demonic agenda that is hell-bent on destroying our culture and perverting our children. Itโs time to stand up and say ENOUGH!โ (Tweet from June 2024)

The anti-liberalism of the far-left needs to defeated, but the problem is US politicians including the Trump admin are sometimes using anti-liberalism measures to do so. That means it's about politics (power and control) to them, not defending liberal democratic values. We're seeing liberal democracy crumbling before our eyes in both the US and Canada. I don't agree with a bunch of this singer's beliefs, but freedom of expression and freedom of religion aren't fundamental democratic rights designed for speech and religious beliefs government officials agree with, they're designed for the ones they don't. Are there any countries in the West that still value liberalism?

After WWII with the weakening of Britain and the essential collapse of the British Empire, Canada switched from being a protectorate of the British Empire to a protectorate of the USA. It doesn't make me happy to say this, but we're a dependent country and always have been, which explains a lot about how Canadians tend to think politically. -

It doesn't matter. Either way, Canada is done. Progressives have destroyed the country the last several decades and continue to do so. Things are only declining faster now. I welcome the hard times that are here and going to get worse. It will grow some much-needed hair on the chest of Canadians. We've become soft to the point of self-destruction and only tough times can save us. -
The feds and provinces have turned their backs on the people. The feds are now taking applications for parents/grandparents family reunification at a time with the baby boomers need healthcare and historic pressures already on our health system. The Liberal Party is probably doing this to pander to immigrants for votes. Either that are they're just totally incompetent, which we know they are too. And yet the boomers voted these fools back in. They never learn and deserve their fates.

Trump has put in censorship conditions for CBS to settle a lawsuit with Trump. The FCC also approved the CBS/Paramount merger after capitulating to Trump with anti-DEI pledges and the company creating an ombudsman to monitor political bias in their media. CBS/Paramount capitulated in order to get the deal approved by the FCC. How is this constitutional? South Park just told Trump and their parent company Paramount to go eff themselves. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/fcc-approves-paramount-skydance-deal-214707761.html

Ewww don't ever call me a Liberal. You take that back!! No i don't like the globalist Marxist Liberals at all, they're disgusting. Does that make PP a peach. He's not nearly as bad, but he's also a half-chud bordering on full. -

Because most politicians aren't honourable, they're self-serving careerist sociopaths who will do just about anything to win. -

Who is paying for all of these new programs and benefits? Where are these "4 million new homes"? How is the rising minimum wage affecting inflation? Are the poor better off than 10 years ago despite all this spending? Progressives running our government have all of these seemingly nice ideas but have no cue lhow one policy will affect another. Look at how their ridiculous migration policies have affected housing, health care, and cost of living. They live in a fantasy world. Is PP the answer? Not really. I don't think a twitter-addicted meme-lord with no expertise in anything besides huckster slogans and kissing Harper's arse has the brains to manage a country adequately. Would do better than Trudeau though given PP doesn't have a giant hole in his head and a castration scar on his nutsack. -

Donald Trump's balls are bigger than the Empire State Building. He needs to be neutered. He's a dog who keeps peeing and crapping all over everyone's lawns while humping every female he can get his hands on. #Epstein -
Trump is a genius

Trump is an ignorant, arrogant blow-hard with mediocre education and the attention-span of a toddler. He represents the average American perfectly so will represent them well in office. America! -
Crown seeking 7 years for Tamara Lich

The fools are going to die from measles because of their vaccine conspiracy madness. It's not fully their fault, they aren't well-educated. The government and pharma industry also isn't exactly known for their honesty, so hard to blame the 2nd-guessing for people who aren't educated enough to understand science and statistics. -

You came in hot disagreeing with my post. Then you start to back-pedal and attempt to start shaming for "reading your mind" LOL. Sure maybe you disagree the punishment is too severe, but it doesn't change the fact that your opinions of the convoy are coloured by things like their political persuasion (rightwing chuds) and race. You're a guilt-ridden self-hating progressive like the vast majority of white male progressives and hate being called on it. If these were indigenous progressives protesting pipelines your opinion of the them and the movement would be different, yet the crimes would be exactly same. Your long posting history shows your biases (wait I forgot, you're an objective "conservative"). Done with the manipulation and gaslighting, you're very good at it, which suggest a lot of practice at it. Go find your next victim, i'm not a sucker. -

Lich is charged with mischief. They illegally parked and were a public noise nuisance contrary to local city bylaws. They also blocked a bridge by illegally parking, which is illegal but no different than aboriginal protestors who blocked federal railways by parking trucks on them. But the cases for the aboriginals were not pursued yet they want 7 years on Lich and have been clearly throwing the book at the woman. People should not be treated differently by the government and justice system based on their race, partisan leanings etc. This is a fundamental aspect of a liberal democracy that we've been fighting for over centuries. For those that think this applies to some races and partisan leanings and not others it means they're racist and politically biased. I don't defend what Lich did, but if she were indigenous and a lefty she would be treated differently by the Crown and justice system. -

People with bad ideas are, IMO. There's plenty of bad conservative ideas. But bad ideas come from people of all political stripes. The further you go on the left or right, the more frequent the bad ideas get. Glad we agree.
