  1. From Gemini AI "regarding the nature of fame, a commonly shared sentiment compares it to a restaurant birthday celebration: it feels special for a brief moment, with everyone looking at you, but it is ultimately performative, fleeting, and they do it for everyone else, too."
  2. Wow, welcome to the club. Old School conservatives who have pointed this out in here: You, me, I Am Groot, Argus...
  3. Pretty terrible, how this story has evaporated from the Western Zeitgeist...
  4. They could have had this deal at any time. There was no gain. I can't believe how stupid this whole thing was.
  5. I'm getting this message which I have never received before, trying to click on this thread: https://repolitics.com/forums/topic/59232-china-just-dumped-688b-of-us-debt…-here’s-what-it-really-means/?do=findComment&comment=1883025
  6. Regardless, it's a germ of a group. There may well be some professional types who know, but there will be smart people who can help with answers.
  7. I'm not your dancing monkey. Prejudice exists. I'm not going to talk about whatever boring long meander you want to take me on, ostensibly to help make the case for ICE. Go buy yourself a grinder and hang out at the zoo, you may have some luck 🤞🏻
  8. Not wrong. That's my point. Keep writing long posts telling me what you think I'm thinking and I'll keep not reading them.
  9. I'm just saying that prejudice exists for both sides. All that other stuff is your own reading Of something That's not there.
  10. By asking such questions, we're identifying ourselves here as a public interest group. 🤔
  11. Do all lobbies belong in jail? I think that you said no before. And I don't think either one of us is above identity politics...
  12. 1. Yes, and some would single him out because he's black and gay. 2. Yes, and some would single him out because he's white and straight. Tribalism is a thing. If that fact makes someone angry, I usually suspect them of belonging to a tribe. Like I say, tribalism is a thing. People look at how people look, and base their arguments on that.
  13. 1. Very true. And yet, since we have no 'market' as such we have to somehow connect the public with healthcare management. The ballot box is too limited a device. 2. I would say that it worked better in the past, and with competent management could work again. Other countries do better, in terms of results and costs. 3. Once again you have accurate observations, but don't go deeper into underlying reasons. We need to have a group of people, a dedicated subset of THE public, that can do that and monitor the system, as it undergoes drastic reform.
  14. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10357837/ The first study I found, from a medical source, and it says faster uptake of vaccines resulted in better mortality figures when comparing European countries
  15. Why did so many more people die in comparative countries that didn't have vaccine uptake at our levels?
  16. Not really no. Not like the last few months. All those sh1tty countries, And they're terrible Cold war dictators fell. Except Iran, even less happened there.
  17. Wait. Did he actually say "please excuse my stupid opinions, I'm black and gay?" Because yes I would find that to be a questionable rationale.
  18. The conspiracy theories that were posted on here were a symptom. 9/11 itself didn't cause any great changes...
  19. His speech was for the other middle power leaders. Enough with the ridiculousness south of the border. We need to block that culture out as much as possible... Which shows he's not a leader, not a clear thinker even.
