  1. Human-caused Climate Change, what you seem to call a religion.
  2. Oh ZERO doubt. How could they hope to go to war with the low level of faith in the current administration, and in the government generally ? They are disunified, and it was done by media in order to garner profits, among other agents.
  3. 1. Climate Change isn't a lie. It's real - see the link in my signature. 2. https://www.nature.com/articles/nclimate2093
  4. 1. Ok, good to hear. 2. Gore did nothing, had very little influence and one could argue that his little movie (An inconvenient truth...) did more to bolster climate denial than it did to wake people up.
  5. So what about posters on here that you disagree with ? Do people think that I don't believe Climate Change is real ? What's my motivation to lie then ? Am I a paid agent ?
  6. No doubt. Women's rights, birth control and other factors are reducing fertility rates ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_fertility_rate Only 43% of ALL countries in the list have a fertility rate to grow population. Increasing production via birthing... no longer an option.
  7. 1. I never felt fear. 2. Did you feel fear ? It's easy to make fun of the feat messages but they happen on all sides of the political spectrum. The right invokes the fear response with "hordes of immigrants" immigrant crime, etc. and moral posturing too. If you are against fear manipulations, you should be against all of them. 3. I don't think so. Otherwise, we wouldn't have got vaccines for our family this year. Seems like we skipped the flu too. I know, I know, correlative not causitive... 4. 5. Yeah, you're just reaffirming my point in my last post and not even responding to it. If Al Gore and Democrats are evil, why not just BAN the Democrats and Liberals ? Because it would cost too much ? Why not just shut it down ?
  8. The similarity between you and me is: we both think the other is wrong. The difference is: you think people who disagree with you have a secret agenda to do harm. Hopefully, you will come to see that not all who disagree with you are in that box.
  9. Right. I do like him BUT you have to realize that even that level of insight is subject to bias and error. You should watch / listen to the people who criticize him. He does admit he's wrong, though, which is a sign of intellectual honesty.
  10. The jet was a gift for the U.S. government I thought ? I am most interested in the cryptocurrency proceeds but the source link doesn't work.
  11. The WTO is the one organization he didn't withdraw from when he withdrew from so many recently. The thinking is that he still wants to have influence on tax exemptions for eCommerce trade.
  12. Someone is listening to Peter Zeihan. Nothing wrong with that of course. Arguably, yes... ARGUABLY. Pilfering from Zeihan again - he pointed out that China changed the names of a bunch of cities on the Russian side to Chinese names on their maps.... hmmmm....
  13. Ah here you go... https://www.newsweek.com/republicans-against-trump-military-greenland-11382044
  14. Out of curiosity, is anyone here on Trump's side with this? I saw a poll that said 70% of Republicans are against it. 😮
  15. I didn't say anything about the topic. It's incorrect for you to infer my opinion. Ok, let's see his response then...
  16. Admitting you're wrong means you have a stronger spine than otherwise. What kind of coward continues to claim? They are correct in the face of facts? As of 3 years ago I admitted I was wrong at least 33 times on this board. Yes, I'm proud of that.
  17. I don't think they've conceited anything yet, and I feel like they would admit if they got something wrong. Again, just saying, I would have laid down my sword by now
  18. Because the government hates the West? Didn't you hear what Doug Ford said about the China deal. This person seems to know a lot about this subject. Just saying 😉
  19. 1. For sure. Our senses are attuned to looking for and somewhat expecting BIG changes. Mostly bad. The big SLOW changes happen under our feet and then we all of a sudden realize they're there. Like... wars in Africa, population aging, infrastructure deterioration, Buffalo sports teams improving 2. Yes but the kind of surge that would elicit true recognition is probably a lot. Improvement of wait times would likely happen more slowly but even then you might not notice for awhile. Lowering of trade barriers: barely perceptible change. 3. There was requisite applause for the 'health care workers' but that work was done by the faceless bureaucrats (somewhere) who constantly are blamed and never credited - no matter whether they deserve either. 4. Sometimes big change happens quickly. Look up the decline of Robert Moses, who ran New York City in a sense, until a strange little scandal involving Shakespeare in the Park brought him down out of nowhere. 5. JFC that is my nightmare... Did you ever see The Finest Hours - 2016 film ? An actual historical sea rescue.. which I saw in big screen with full sound. Terrifying. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Finest_Hours_(2016_film) 6. You lived to tell the tale. I can't look at a box of Fish Sticks without thinking of you.
  20. Hookers, on the other hand, LOVE IT. Thanks folks ! You've been a great audience ! Tip your hookers !
  21. 1. Nobody believes change can happen. That guarantees that it won't happen. That's why I said two-tier has to guarantee significant overall improvements to wait times. Enough so people notice. 2. You have to realize that when the government HAS to do something it happens. Like a teenager the night of the big test, they get it together and pull off the all-nighter. I saw this during Covid - makeshift vaccination centres, staffed by citizen volunteers... how did we do something so amazing and then just shrug that off ? 3. Very wise indeed. The life cycle of our systems seems to end in loooooong sloooooooooooow decay 4. It's always the boats with you.... My father-in-law is a pleasure sailor and I have come to appreciate the passtime. Anchoring out in the middle of nowhere and the wife and kids jump in for a swim... quite a pleasure. I am guessing you don't jump in on purpose very often on the high seas though... Speaking of boats and fishing, I've only read a few books that cover that topic - one was Jaws, which was a yawner, the other being The Perfect Storm. I'd recommend it... oops, gotta adjust the mainsail... the thread she's a driftin'
  22. 1. Well sure but you can drink water and pee at the same time also. 2. With a great knee, fixed in no time at all. 3. It needs a public, and some attention to the issues so something gets done instead of a cloud of gloom. There are plenty of nerds out there with eyes and keyboards to help keep a public eye on wait times and costs. I can see wait times as a hot topic in local FB groups now. 4. We need to accept that the wealthy exist, too. Our wealthies are Canadian wealthies. We can't ignore them or demonize them to solve a bigger problem. France is pretty socialist and they have two-tier, 1st class subway cars too when I lived there. 5. Even Marx said that the state would wither away at some point. 6. Maybe but I'm leery of noble Hollywood propaganda... I want a Feudal system... the Lords sit on their @sses until the Vikings come, then they go defend us 1. Pretty clear that we need a new framework and that to me would have to include the public sphere, feedback, oversight, governance, and probably funding at some point down the road. 2. Ok, I have never heard of that but my take is.... as long as I have a face and a body akin to my living one then scalpel me up... I'm not going to need my liver, Luigi can have it
  23. Are you saying that a YouTube video with eye-popping graphics isn't entirely accurate ?
  24. 1. Of course. Obvious. 2. Knee replacements take forever now. If we charge people to go faster, then that money should go to improving wait times for everyone. 3. If you had a TINY wait time, but the wealthy paid to go immediately - how would that make you feel ?
  25. 1. Agreed 2. We also have been hearing about this problem for decades. 3. Ok... so... what would cause that ? They could easily make it mandatory to donate organs. So ?
