Actually what is stopping people from openly declaring war on whatever "culture" you want to call it, resisting the natural changes and progress of liberal trade and culture as well? At this point, there are culture warriors out there who have no problem declaring war on woke... folks who accept the precepts of openness and reject whatever the openness wants to call itself should maybe push back a little. I am noticing a lot more normies going on Facebook and telling the Chuds to shut up, which is nice to see ie. people expressing their opinions on Chudly embarassments, their bad fashion, fake YouTube, trust in bonkers Demagogues in power, etc. etc. Eyeball - your moment awaits !

Yes, that monitoring process was used in the Green Zone, as reported in the Podcast. As I said, personal violence is a good reason to use this. Evidence should be inadmissible otherwise. But American Libertarians freaked. We should also note crime continues to decline, I would say due to social factors versus tougher laws etc. The government is as reluctant to build prisons as schools and hospitals. -

I think that they could be used for a limited domain of law enforcement functions. Prevention and investigation of personal violence, terrorism etc. seems like a useful thing. There was a Freakonomics episode about how an 'eye in the sky' SATELLITE was used to squelch crime in the Green Zone in Baghdad. An American city pushed back on having it above them, recording everything. -
No I am bad at arithmetic. We never spoke French at home. I remember my grandfather voted Unioniste, or at least that's what they said. The Church controlled everything. It was a different time.

Yes. Two Quebecois from the 18th century. Old great uncle also.

You're comparing apples and oranges here. Powell gets no personal benefit from the Fed building. And subpoena over a project assessment statement seems pretty ridiculous. I have never heard of that. And nobody significant thinks that the Whitehouse renovation is illegal. I think calling Democrats 'leftists' is a tell here, as you're using the language of the partisan...

White might makes right, right? I guess this means pro-DEI folks no longer have to justify their objectives on moral, or any other grounds. "That's how the country started" isn't really a rationale so... "Whites out now" doesn't have to be one either. It's just culture war... And the reasons for our actions are just myths we tell ourselves.

It IS the question of the ages. "Do things change" ? I have posted that comparisons of the USA to Nazis (Negative) or to victorious Allies (Positive) or to slave-era, Monroe-era, Spanish civil war, remember the alamo etc. etc. are always overstated. As you say, Economics trumps virtue and it also trumps nationalism and religion and history, even if they still exist... There's a gift shop at the Alamo and Auchwitz has a twitter account. The utility of the present trumps the sentimentality of the past. Yes, as I just posted... we are our grandparents' children. What does it mean when tested ? Could we measure up ? I'm sure we'd be surprised to see that ... like the Ukranians ... we could. And that speaks to the point you're making, I think.

This reads as a resonant statement of spirit, from a patriot. Thank you. That said, I am going to nitpick to say that nothing is what it has always been. The essence might be there but for the US and Canada also, the sand shifts under our feet. There's no frontier, death is not a constant companion, and the cornerstone of religion is gone...... Instead we have The enslavement and corruption of COMFORT. But these comments are about the world, not America.

The Left's Violent Nature Reimurges

Why are you even trying to embark on a journey that starts with a completely vague premise as to what it means... Except that you can tell it's an insult against some stereotype? How much time do you have exactly?- 73 replies

It's not Greenland, it's the times. You are citing events that happened over 200 years ago. America's greatness culminated in its leadership of forging a new global order, headquartered in New York. With that came a set of rules that ensured it would be at the center of everything. Economic, military, political. Does the current leadership measure up, In terms of character and intelligence, to the decades of American leaders that built that world order? Only a minority of Americans, and almost no one in the domain of allies think so. I'm not saying anything about the morality of this play, just that it seems utterly unachievable without more support.... And as such it seems like a reckless effort.

1. I don't LIKE online pixels and bots. Also: If you associate me with online people, just because we're on the same board then you're associated with me. No, picking a set of events and using that as evidence is pretty clearly flawed logic.- 73 replies
