Donnie sues Des Moines register for fake news polling
CdnFox replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Sure. All valid. I'm not really questioning your underlying premise very much, you're right. I was just pointing out that it is possible to have a bad result and even a consistently bad result without malice. It's important to remember the public polls are done for free by the polling companies and they put less energy into it than they do for the polling that the parties pay for but are internal. So you have to remember what you're getting. Somebody gives you free cookies you're not allowed to complain that they're oatmeal With regards to the numbers, as I said the numbers are always dependent on voter turnout and that is impossible to predict accurately, nobody has gotten that right ever. There is some plausible reason to believe that liberals will tend to answer polls more frequently even though they don't necessarily turn up at the polling stations more frequently. The rest of us are working and tend to hang up So you have to take that with a grain of salt. Everybody knew that trump was likely to outperform his polling numbers. And that's because he's very hard to pull because many of the people who vote for him are the type who will tell pollsters to f off and die Fake pulling data can possibly influence an election but probably not as much as you think unless it is grossly exaggerated. If you make it seem your candidate is doing way better than they should a lot of times voters don't show up to vote thinking they've got it in the bag. That has actually cost many candidates who were legitimately ahead of Elections because their voters thought there's no point everybody's voting for this guy already I don't he doesn't need my vote. Likewise, show your candidate is too low and people may decide that he's already lost there's no point in getting involved and you could repress turnout. I agree that if there is any kind of deliberate attempt to put the thumb on the scale those people should be held to account and should be civilly liable to the party they have injured. I just wanted to point out that there are legitimate reasons why you can see discrepancies even consistent discrepancies as a result of certain modeling and methodology which is 100% legitimate But this is also why I have repeated a million times that you have to look at polls as something that produces trends rather than absolute predictors of outcome. They are more valuable in showing who has momentum and what the trends are and giving a general ballpark of where the parties are at and even then you get some real shockers like BC when Christy Clark won against the NDP. -

Funny story but it is actually not uncommon to have "lawnsign" polls and they can actually be fairly accurate And the famous food polls (buy red muffin if you're voting liberal, blue for conservative, etc etc) which have also proven strangely effective They only become misleading if you present them as being something OTHER than what they are or otherwise 'weight the scale' without disclosing that. If you pretend the lawnsign poll is a more standard poll when it isn't, that's a thing. or if you only travel around select parts of town. etc. -
You are literally chasing me all over the board everywhere completely focused on me Considering you can't even take your own advice and I am the entire focus of your attention I'm not sure how effective it is And I have told him a million times he absolutely does not need my permission or participation to stop replying to me. If he doesn't take it from me why would he take it from you? A drunk loser who keeps posting proof that he's wrong all the time probably isn't a great source of advice

LOL i see what you did there YOU're going to pun hell for that. I agree but your very comment was political so of course the response is going to be political. This is the conclusion that sensible and same people on either side will tend to come to In Canada through extensive experimentation beginning in the late sixties to this very day we have discovered the laws around firearms can significantly impact accidents, but do very little to impact crime. In fact they saw some reason seem to make crime worse. The very basics of having a method to make sure that people who have been diagnosed with a severe dangerous mental health state or who are convicted criminals are limited in their ability to buy a gun immediately probably has some benefit although I can't actually prove it statistically, but after that there really isn't anything that works. What does work and what has worked in Canada is what you and I have both described -

Not to defend the democrats or their posters, but as long as they are consistent that can still happen legitimately. Most poles are weighted, which means they pull a thousand people but then select samples from each of the age groups and Sexes that they think is representative. No pull actually just produces its result they always wait it a little bit at least for age and sex. You can't predict who's going to reply to your poll so you have to try and cut it back so that the poles represents the same number of 20 to 30 year olds as the actual population has and same number as male to female as the population has The problem comes when they try and adjust it for who they think is going to show up. You'll notice that some of the poles say lV and some of them say RV. RV is registered voters and it doesn't tend to be changed for voter turnout as much. LV is likely voters, and that is altered to try and reflect what they think the turnout is going to be. And those polls are very very often inaccurate compared to the RV poles, it just depends on how much they're altering the data based on who they think is going to show up. So they could have just got it wrong because they're not very good at this. Or they could have deliberately put their thumb on the scale and weighted things in favor of Kamala. It really could go either way. I guess we'll find out at the trial -

For sure. A pole can be 100% legitimate and still produce a bad result. This is especially true with those likely voter polls and there were a lot of those. This is where you weight the results by trying to guess what percentage of various age and sex groups are likely to show up on voting day ( i know you know that, i was explaining for the audience ) That changes the result quite a bit, and it is notoriously difficult to get right. It is actually fairly easy to get voting intentions pretty accurate but not the number of people who will show up and from what groups. That has always proven very resistant to polling. So they could have made a number of bad assumptions, got a bad result, and still been 100% above board with their intent. I guess we'll find out in the lawsuit. It will be up to trump to prove that they were acting in bad faith and not just screwing up -

It is a great plan. Turns out it's almost impossible for them to get rich without making the people around them and the people around them more rich as well. In fact that's one of the great things about capitalism, is that economic prosperity always ripples. That's why capitalism have lifted more people out of abject poverty than any other system ever invented by man ever anywhere. Turns out you don't get jobs from poor people So yes, get the rich back here. They're leaving currently and we're paying a horrible price. Get them starting businesses, get them upgrading existing businesses with tools that make them more productive and enhance our people's ability to create wealth. Yes, they absolutely will get rich and in doing so they will pay insane amounts of taxes and they will also create tons of jobs and those people will pay taxes. And suddenly everybody will have more money, there will be more wealth, there will be more government revenue to take care of people who were unable to find a way to succeed in our society either because of personal challenges they couldn't overcome or physical disabilities that they suffered. That is what works! The more rich people getting rich the better! Because it absolutely guarantees that the Poor are better off as well. Any questions? I hope that didn't shatter your left-wing woke talking point perspective -

You kind of kick that ball off by immediately talking smack about how everybody was going to make it political It's not like you actually just said hey guys we should wait for all the facts As with every shooting I am a proponent of waiting for the facts, and the one fact we knew. To have been borne out by her confession which is that a disturbed young girl got it into her head that it was okay to kill people and that that needed to happen. And why use a gun? It gets headlines. And if bad people want guns they're going to find them and if they can't they're going to use something else. There's no way this girl got to this date without sending out some red flags and warning signals that she was in trouble. America wants to get serious about addressing this kind of thing they need to tackle that issue head-on with education and resources for people and parents to recognize when someone's in distress and get them real help, and for a reasonable version of red flag laws that allow the police to investigate and take appropriate action rather than just heavy-handed action or no action when they're dealing with someone who may be emotionally unstable and possibly a threat That would solve a significant portion of the state's problems. Gun control will not -

Not if he doesn't bob and weave LOL Jokes aside, while it probably wont' make any difference with this little time left as far as the outcome of the election, i would enjoy seeing his smarmy little face actually get crushed in the election. He deserves that. We'll see, Guess it's still up in the air what he's going to do. I'm sure there's a lot of his party members who are worried that there's no where near enough time for a replacement to be chosen and get ready before the next election His best course of action would be to prorogue parliament till about march, work with carney to come up with a budget that seems believable (it won't be but still), prepare like hell for an election and then come back and dissolve parliament and go to the polls with a spring election. Or do it in January if he wants to screw Jaggers around big time.

LOL you're right I searched for news about justin staying or leaving and there was so many articles i didn't check the dates! I totally forgot that he's been pressured to leave and step down for so long now! His party must really hate him at this point Guess we'll still have to see if he's staying or not
-
Not really. This is easy to deal with. I know that it probably upsets you and I'll probably get another little red down arrow because you're so buthurt over the idea of losing your slave labor force but honestly we just don't need them. There's ways to deal with it legitimately He's not going to get it done in one day, but over 4 years why not. And frankly if they find him deport 8.5 million I think he would still call that a win. More importantly, people would be thinking twice if not three times about coming in the first place

Finance minister resigns Winter statement day
CdnFox replied to Politics1990's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Right, because he only came up with the idea after trump proposed the tariffs he's never mentioned it before that ππ We needed to kill the carbon tax anyway, you !diots had 10 years to get that right and all you've done is turned people off thinking about climate change while achieving nothing. There could be no better proof you don't take it seriously and neither should we than the carbon tax fiasco. But now we'll need to kill it more. Trump is looking at significant reductions in the business tax to attract business investment and head offices to the States, a trick harper used against the us very successfully in his day. We are going to need to become much more competitive to stand a chance and the carbon tax is in the way of that. -
I See you need to have politics explained to you again. JT is a loser for all kinds of reasons, yes. PP managed to get just about everything he wanted. He stalled the liberal legislative agenda in it's tracks. He's exposed Jagmeet as an insane hypocrite who's only in it for his pension. He's pretty much guaranteed a spring election so he's getting his early election that trudeau's been avoiding at all costs. And he's going to cilmb even higher in the polls And - when he wins in the spring he'll get the answers he wants about the chinese interference and will be the hero for taking the action justin should have but didn't. Wonder if any of the liberal's new leadership people will be on that list LOL Jagmeet is a winner for getting his pension. But the NDP is going to crash and burn over this. His response has gone over like a lead balloon. People on the left could dismiss his pension issue before but now it's absolutely thrust in their face. The ndp is going to be devastated in the next election. Which means the CPC will win more seats which means that it'll be that much harder to get rid of them which means they're going to have free reign to undo all the leftist crap and get the country running again, and they'll have the time to chase out a lot of the liberal and leftie appointees and judges and put some fresh blood in. LOL, enjoy your 'win' herbie See you at the polls

OH MY GOD HE"S GOING TO TRY TO STAY!! Poll says three in four want Trudeau to go, but Trudeau insists heβll stay - National | Globalnews.ca Holy snit - even i'm starting to feel sorry for the liberal party now' His gov't is completely disfunctional but nope, he's going to stick it out. This man is a complete sociopath, he doesn't care about anyone other than himself

LOLOL! Loving those salty tears you write just as many posts back so in reality I guess I'm making you write them Doesn't feel like you really thought that through all the way And I am outside at the moment. You may not have realized this, stuck in your mom's basement as you are, but we have these things called cell phones now

LOL awww little @Politics1990 ..... even THAT was too much for you and you had to down arrow it? ROFLMAO!!! It's no wonder trump is walking all over the left these days, you guys cry your eyes out whenever you hear facts you don't like LOL well there you go, thats the kind of reason and logic the left was able to employ to defeat trump in the states. Oh wait...

Or not Things change. Even after Trudeau, the first one, who was nowhere nearly as hated as this one is, the liberals had to change and become quasi-conservatives in order to win after Mulroney. They ran on balancing the budget, reducing costs and taxes where possible etc etc. I mean they still turned out to be scumbags in the end but they had to put on a pretty good conservative facade to make that happen This time I think the damage is even further deep for them and they will have an even harder time coming back. And probably ever is smarter than mulroney and a hell of a lot more charismatic than harper. Not to mention that over the next 12 years there will be substantial population growth in the west at a higher rate than there will likely be in the east. Which means that more seats will be given to the west. And with the block still producing Quebec's relevance on the federal stage it's going to get harder and harder and harder for liberals to form majority governments and in fact governments at all. The young kids are the ones that are the most p^ssed at the liberals right now and they're not likely to soon forget the misery that living under liberal rule has brought them. The only reason the liberals were covered from the last disaster was because Trudeau came along and was Super Hyper charismatic and appealed to the east and then caught on across Canada. But the liberals don't really have anybody waiting in the wings with that kind of star power right now and it's unlikely they're going to find someone unless taylor swift decides she wants to run Canada
-
They definitely need to sit down and have a little think about themselves. When you look at Jack Layton's NDPs and you look at jagger's Hyper woke rhetoric but zero actual action The contrast is severely disappointing. Layton was all about building and doing. He wanted to Build a Better Canada, he wanted to build new structures to support and help people prosper, he wanted to build something sustainable and it was prepared to actually do things to make that happen. Jaggers is all about fighting, he'll fight this he'll fight that he'll fight those people over there, hey do you want to fight? But then he does nothing. And honestly you can't build a better future by fighting. Sometimes you have to fight to protect what you've got but that's not the way forward Somehow the NDP went from the first to the second and they really need to find their way back again. They need to get rid of this revolutionary woke activist crap and they need to stop being the liberals rubber stamp and go back to being the conscience of the parliament and actually work to get things done on a case-by-case basis whether it's a majority or minority.
