Trump blames DEI for plane crash...
CdnFox replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Most of those are immigrants who moved here as a jumping point to the US. It's easier to get into the US once you're in Canada. It hasn't got any better now, if you check you'll find the numbers are worse but as I mentioned to him most of those are people who came to Canada and are now leaving Canada to go to the united states. The united states was probably always there intended Final Destination but it's much easier to get access to the united states for immigration if you're already landed in Canada -
You can't just say "security" and pass it off as being relevant today or the same issue that trump is talking about. The us and canada are always fine tuning things, trudeau did a deal with the us as well updating the refugee laws, but that doesn't mean it's what the issue is now. Improving coordination is always a good thing and quite frankly we had as many problems to discuss as they did at the time. Tracking guns that come across the border for example. And he was wrong. It didn't stop about Obama from doing business with us, or trump, or Biden. Wasn't an issue. You are talking about 14 years ago, do you honestly believe they have been angry about it ever since and just never said anything? That's just not how it works And it does show that when we did talk about things that needed Improvement Canada was willing partner to examine changes and so was the us. We have made a number of minor changes along the border to address issues over the years. You don't launch a trade war without even sitting down with someone to negotiate or discuss over security. That is just not a thing. I absolutely guarantee you on a stack of $10,000 bills as high as you'd like that this is not about security. Like I said, border security is an American issue, they don't stop at our customs agents on their way into the states. The first security they hit is Americas, and they are not smuggling fentanyl in any substantial quantity across the border on foot. They fly it in planes and they drive it in trucks and that means it's the American customs people that are the first people that get a chance to try and intercept it, not Canada. I have little doubt that if Canada offers something in the way of additional security they will happily take it because why not but that is not why this is happening

You - Sure you were you: User's obvious transgender fetish notwithstanding, most of this is not about hedonism. And later Yeah, we all know what you're into. etc etc You made several posts to him and others about it. THEN commented on his being triggered. But thanks for confirming that you frequently lie about what you've said in the past when you get called on it. But honestly we already knew

You'd be the one in denial if you were to suggest it was a major point for him. The only reason obama cared is because canada spends it's defense dollars in the us for the most part. He was in power for 8 years and mentioned it once? Nobody ever has "Sat down" with canada to negotiate more spending. They may mention it here and there in speeches but that's about it. And neither has trump for that matter. He very easily could have requested a commitment to increase military spending as part of any previous trade agreement or as an independent agreement. And if that was the big deal he could say 'tariffs for tanks - increase spending by xxx this year and commit permanently and the tarrifs come off". He's barely mentioned it. And it wouldn't explain the tariffs for mexico or china. This has ZERO to do with any of that and that is obvious to anyone who follows politics.. Sorry man, you might be pretty knowledgeable on military matters but i'm a pro at politics and i'm right far more often than i'm not, and this pretty obviously is not anything to do with 'ramifications'. Military spending and border security are completely sideline issues here. He may care and it may make him dislike trudeau more but that's not why this is happening. This is about trade.
-
We are on the same page. I believe he is moving to negotiate a new trade deal that is extremely favorable to him and at the same time attempt to pressure companies into moving their production back to the states by pointing out that a war could flare up again anytime in the future and they're exposed if they have their production in Canada. I believe that's also the case with Mexico. He will be looking for some concessions from china as well but it's interesting to note that they only got 10%, indicating that he doesn't feel he has the same level of leverage over them or doesn't want their manufacturing jobs as much

Selling something isn't corruption. You can call it mildly exploitive but he didn't do anything illegal immoral or wrong. Anything is wrong to just sell something then I guess you're going to have to go arrest all of the stores in America as well LOL honestly what a thing to say. Only a communist would claim selling something is morally wrong.
-
No it hasn't. When did Biden ever bring it up? Or Obama, point to all those news Articles where Obama was complaining about our spending with NATO. Or bush before him. If the Americans had a serious issue about that they could easily have said at any time " Hey, come sit down and talk we have to work this out or there will be serious ramifications". Then there's diplomacy and things get hammered out. They could have even made it part of the previous trade negotiations. The fact is most of the drugs are crossing at US border crossings. That's got nothing to do with us, we don't man those borders we certainly don't track vehicles leaving the country. That's their job. This is all bullshit smoking mirrors it's that simple. Trump wants something else.

Well of course for other liberals it was a duffel bag full of cash, but the more current way of doing things is to pay him back after his time in office by offering him directorship on a number of boards where he does virtually nothing he gets paid half a million a year for each of the boards. Charities and environmental groups are some favorites. These have replaced somewhat those orgs the British used to call quangos, which frequently did the same thing. Think about it. He already advises investment groups to buy pipelines and oil production in brazil and other places like that. All he has to do to make them more money is prevent canadian oil from getting to market and compteting. Which he's already pushing for. That will be worth billions to them, a cushy position when he's done will be no problem. ETc etc.

Does it. I wonder. I think that right there would be the biggest one at the end. Because of the college system Ontario and Quebec but once again completely dominate the political landscape and the new state would inevitably go democrat 9 out of 10 elections. Why would trump or the democrats shoot for that? They would be looking to Nerf that in one way or another
-
I literally just said he was. So did America. That's how much of a loser you guys are, compared to you trump is good. And instead of trying to figure out how to get better you guys waste your time purposefully misreading what was said I'm looking like children Only stupid people would delude themselves to think that. The democrats and the left should be doing some serious self-reflection right now. Instead you're calling everybody else stupid. Yeah, that'll really win them over.

But he is a dingbat Not at all. If anything he will sell Canada out to those global connections for money. This guy couldn't care less about Canada.
-
Quite a bit. Nothing anyone does is going to prevent Canada from taking a hit but he could definitely take actions that would improve Canada's situation immeasurably both in the short and longer term. Drag the premieres to Ottawa and say we are pushing pipelines through everywhere to sell as much oil and Natural gas as possible and anybody who gets in the way will lose their funding. Will work with first nations groups and provinces and others to make sure they get a fair share of the profits but this is happening. He could also Explore new trade relationships with other countries, which Trudeau successfully kiboshed during his time. Harper did great it expanding trade but Trudeau ruined most of that work, well he ever can send it people to the four corners of the earth looking for new markets to both buy and sell into including working out a deal with Britain and the economic union. And speaking of trade while he's got those premieres together he might just want to point out that this is the time to get rid of trade barriers interproventually. The liberals actually did a tiny bit of work towards that back in 2017 before Justin gave up on Canada entirely but there's a lot more that can be done. Harmonize certification to allow people to move freely to work. Make it easier to do trade across borders and still respect each other's tax regimes. Make Canada Canada's number one customer. And then of course the usual stuff like slashing taxes to encourage businesses to invest, getting rid of red tape and unnecessary bureaucracy to make it easier for ventures to proceed and to make it cheaper for Canadians to produce their own goods rather than bringing them in from somewhere else etc etc It's not hard. You just have to want to do it and put in the work. The liberals want to focus on new carbon taxes that's where they want to put in their work. That is not going to solve our problem
-
Too bad the liberals spent all those billions nerfing it. Looks like they really could have used that industry now as a tool against trump but seeing as they deliberately stunted it so that it only has one customer it would be very hard on Alberta to make that happen. Besides according to Trudeau There's No Business case for oil and gas
-
Yep. Well done. Here's a short video that explains exactly how that works in an amusing little skit. Oh and by the way? this is an old video. Pretty prophetic i would say. Oh look, more sexual fantasies. Every single time if you try and have a reasonable conversation with someone on the left this is what it boils down to. And at the end of the day that means that you leave people no choice but to go for their other option. If the left was reasonable. If the left listened to other people's concerns. If the left had something in their head other than weird sexual fantasies, then people might feel comfortable choosing left of center leaders. But they don't and this is exactly why.

Those industries have other customers. They sell agriculture products all over the world, cows and grain are pretty easy to ship, there really is no manufacturing except in support of oil and the rest is service industry stuff which isn't affected. So those industries can adapt no problem. They'll take a hit but nothing fatal. I notice you didn't mention that. So this has nothing to do with smith's plans or actions, you just hate her and want everything she does to be wrong whether it is or isn't. Gotcha.
-
That is absolutely not true. When you take energy out of the equation we actually have a trade deficit with America. In other words we buy more from them than they buy from us. And for the majority of states we are their number one customer, and for a reasonable number of them we are one of the number one suppliers of power. We absolutely can affect their Industries. Absolutely. In fact if you watch the car industry in the united states over the next few weeks I think you'll see suddenly they aren't building very many cars. What trump wants is to tell the car manufacturers that this means that they should bring back the manufacturing from Canada to the united states. But they can't do that overnight. So he'll try to get commitments from them and then ease the tariffs to allow them to go back to business provided they keep those commitments. Trump is not a push to bring as much manufacturing back to America as humanly possible.
-
Give me an example where I did that. Show me an example of where I said to someone that their pushback made them a left hard because of my extreme political position or the like. An example of where I just didn't like something and didn't have any reason why I felt it was inaccurate or illogical or anything like that Bet you can't find one. So what you're doing is projecting your own failures on other people. Which basically proves what I said and is an example of why nobody would take you seriously. Why can't you stick to facts? Why do your positions require lies and dishonesty to make them work? Am I such a perfect human being that you couldn't find one thing to criticize that was legitimate and had to pull some nonsense out of your ass that is just a reflection of your own character flaws? This is how you wind up with Donald Trump. You on the left are so impossible to take seriously that Donald Trump looks good by comparison
-
But we all I assume you mean the voices in your head? In any case stupidest losers will be forever those people that thought keeping Biden in power to the last minute and then swapping him for Kamala would be a good plan You guys literally made trump look like the better choice. That is the stupidest loser
-
I have little doubt that there would require no effort to find lots of places where we can spend at least that much and barely scratch the problems we have starting tomorrow without a procurement process. But of course what will actually happen is the liberals will hire an independent company that just happens to be friendly to one of the liberal people somewhere to study the issue for 2 years and producer report saying exactly what you just said. And all for the low low cost of $25 million dollars.
-
Sorry but almost every fact you mentioned there is either entirely wrong or grossly misleading. The ukrainians did NOT have 500k men in their army. At the start of the conflict for example they had 196,600 active military personel and they were very poorly trained. Russia had about 1.5 million and they were better trained, plus almost another million in reservists. They did not have thousands of actual tanks. They had less than a thousand functional tanks left over from when the Russians ran the place, so most of them were 1960's varians like the t72 which simply cannot stand up to modern warfare. And so on. And they didn't get them from the us. And the airforce was a joke. Oriignally all of europe and america thought the russians would win in a week. this is what you're calling the most powerful military in europe? The US could easily win a conventional war against china and russia and at this point russia is so depleated they don't even count. Their navy is old and they've lost many ships, their air force is badly hurt and they can't make replacements, they have almost no modern tanks left, they have no men left, they're a shell. China is better armed but still lacks the technology to make the size of their military mean anything.

And unlike the first Caesar he was much more fair with people, let small businessman keep their money and flourish, Supported private ventures and reasonable rights for slaves for treatment and to earn their freedom and he ushered in a golden age that was the best time in all of Rome's history for the next for emperors to follow him. Turns out that socialist dictators create a lot of unrest in a country. But when you support letting people make their own way in life and create their own opportunity then a country flourishes. Liberals and the woke left are simply bad for a country entirely. Basically they let conservatives build the country up to where it's doing really well, step in and run the country into the ground and then walk away while the conservatives rebuild. And so what if the people suffer?
