  1. I don't see anyone showing loyalty to Russia. That would imply attacking the idea of America. And who is on the far right? Why is everything so damned far these days.
  2. Sure they could, if only the Russians would stop doing that... and the Brits, and the French, the Chinese... etc. etc. Sadly your recommendation would only leave us open to the fury of their attack.
  3. Sweden is a country situated on the Arctic circle. Has many snowflakes.

Team captain, no less. Tosser is quite apt since he did toss his silver medal into the crowd.

This guy caught it, and wore it for a while.

  4. I don't doubt the premise that Russians tried desperately to hack US computer systems and cause disruption, since that is part of the game. There's also evidence that they are covertly broadcasting false information ("Fake ....") to create social discord... and are likely still doing so now. In any case, they're certainly having a good laugh. They might have hacked into Hillary's emails, or someone else did and Russians got a hold of them, passed them along to people who used them to attack America. Eg. the Wikileaks. These techniques are pretty much ordinary. There's evidence that America does this to Russia too, interfering in Russian elections and in countries bordering Russia. Less covert but effective techniques include providing financial support to a preferred candidate, thereby getting them more exposure/ air time, even providing a team of consultants to work with the campaign. Both Democrat and Republican parties have agencies they use to promote their politics internationally, to prop up leaders in almost every country in the world. National Democratic Institute for International Affairs International Republican Institute and have been involved in Canadian elections. I can believe those things but I don't believe Trump won the election by the direct hacking of computers. I doubt that they are vulnerable and nobody's doing anything about it, that would be utterly absurd. Trump won because people actually voted for him, and you can argue that they were misguided or fed propaganda by Russian agents on Facebook, or whatever, that's fine. But the vote tally showed- he did not win because more people voted Republican, he won because many Democrat voters refused to vote for Hillary and stayed home. Many Links
  5. Poor Hillary...such a victim.
  6. Quote this morning on CBC News: "I think the level of freak-out is already pretty high these days..."

    No shit.

CBC mods have their work cut out for them. How to censor thousands of posts yet keep the few praising the boy emperor. Tough, tough work.

CBC would certainly rather have us talking about Trump rather than JT. Nice, convenient distraction.

The list of words one is not allowed to say on CBC is both long and insane.

You can't say dear or leader without moderation...for example. Nor can you say frog. But you can say toad.

Anything involving the "I" word is, of course, verboten. However, you can openly bash all other religions.

Quite the place...and we pay for it.

  7. Wynne plays the "Trump card"? Hardly. A different approach- Boom: 40 companies give Trump tax reform bonuses, up to $2,000 Some 40 U.S. companies have responded to President Trump’s tax cut and reform victory in Congress last year by handing out bonuses up to $2,000, increases in 401k matches and spending on charity, a much higher number than previously known.
  8. Thanks for the link. Reading through it shows that the phrase "targeted" does not mean that the software was hacked and compromised. So basically this is about attempted hacking, which is commonplace in every election. Russians try to hack US, America tries to hack Russia, other countries, etc. This is very much part of the problem with the media today- they are not outright lying, but promoting half-truths which the public can then interpret in predictable (but not necessarily accurate) ways. Headlines, sound bites are being carefully crafted to promote an agenda.
  9. I'm guessing Donald Trump likes this and wants to make it a bigger deal than it really is. But we can always hope that things change for the better for the people of Iran, and not in a violent way. Again, very unlikely that a harsh, intolerant administration can be turned around. It risks descending into the shit-hole that is Iraq. (for further info see "There's always a deeper shit-hole theory")
  10. Maybe you didn't mean hacking. I haven't heard of outright hacking of the computers suspected, but plenty about how Russians used social media to spread misinformation. Anyone can do that though, and I don't think it's a crime. If stupid people believe you and vote that way, it's not illegal. So they used it to persuade people to vote for Trump over Hillary. I don't doubt that for a second and anyone who knows how these elections work should be aware, election meddling or interference happens every time, in every country in the world and in each case there's a superpower doing the meddling. Trump is an asshole, but there are plenty of people who feel that he's exactly the kind of person the US needs right now to reestablish its dominant position. As to the impeachment that so many liberals are eagerly hoping for, I can;t think of what he's done that's PROVEN, that would justify impeachment.
  11. Right... Sept 11 much?
  12. And you just keep changing yours, hot enough.
  13. That's ok. After about 60 years of trying, there isn't enough good will to make it happen anyway.
  14. This clown, who met with PM Trudeau recently after he and his family returned from Afghanistan, is now up on multiple charges including assault, sexual assault, forcible confinement and uttering death threats-

Freed Canadian hostage faces assault charges

Most likely he assaulted his wife. Unfortunately, She should be used to that kind of abuse by now.
In reading up on this I also found out that Joshua Boyle was once married to Omar Khadr's sister. Small world, isn't it?

No one here presented it as a true image. Anyone can tell that they are altered. Also, there are no "extreme right wing liars" here.

  15. I say... naaaah. I remember another much anticipated event, "Arab Spring" with basically amounted to SFA, or even worse. No chance the Ayatollahs are going to allow it. They just haven't gotten around to really putting the screws to the protesters yet. Besides, from what I heard this started as mainly a dispute over unemployment and food prices, not the blessings of democracy.
  16. No, and judging by the number of posts and fantastic claims you are making about yourself, I suspect you are the same poster as Omni, here to troll us.
  17. That's a fake word used by mainly leftists, to try to nullify an argument. It attempts to disassociate cause and effect. All things happen for a reason, and for every action there's a reaction. Tradition, culture, memory, history, all things the far left seeks to eradicate.
