  1. You might, rabbit, you might. But only if you try to claim they have assembled themselves...
  2. It is fine to say life is just a bunch of chemicals and shit, if that's what you like. But you really devalue the complexity and elegance of DNA, or that most complicated magnificent organ in the known universe, the human brain. Combine this with the fact that everything we experience is though our sensory organs alone, I tend to agree with Plato when he says, "All we can really say is, we know nothing". And science is coming round full circle to this, when you consider the metaphysical implications of quantum mechanics. So for me the debate itself is irrational, and that's fine. It says something. We are irrational beings. But it doesn't mean to me there is no room to believe in god if you are so inclined. Just that the word "believe" is a slippery slope for either the religious type, or the atheist. My view, there is physics and there is metaphysics. There isn't a conflict in that.
  3. Maybe on TV, but we who actually play the game for sport an enjoyment do not play with any contact. "We all have to go to work tomorrow."
  4. Yes and by the very act of "fixing" the problem (getting back to work...) the Dems lose. Having to cooperate with President Trump is a bitter pill to swallow this far down the road. #DoubleTrumped
  5. IE. They realized they were about to cut off their noses to spite their face. #TrumpWinsAgain
  6. Trudeau welcomes diversity as long as the diversity matches his personal beliefs-
Employers being forced to sign government attestation over sexual diversity if they want funding from summer jobs program

The attestation in full says: “Both the job and the organization’s core mandate respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as other rights. These include reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.”

The government says it will not even process an application that does not include the attestation. The online version of the application can’t be submitted unless the box on the attestation is checked off.

Whether you like it or not, whether it i relevant to your workplace or not, you MUST AGREE.

  7. I took it to mean Donald Trump is Satan.
  8. Skins colour has absolutely nothing to do with it, but here is a clue- I wouldn't trust someone like Joshua Boyle.
  9. Right now the PM should be a female, that would help in negotiations with Donald Trump. Someone who can really lay on the charm... Rona Ambrose comes to mind. "I want some NAFTA, big daddy."
  10. Perhaps Boyle is prepping for his own run in federal politics.
  11. I'm amazed at the amount of history revisionism coming from those on the left, both here in this forum and in the media. Pure fiction.
  12. I once met a man who cut off his nose, to spite his face.
  13. Perhaps Midol instead
  14. Don't be so sensitive...
  15. Far be it from me to speak for someone else, but the rate doesn't go up linearly as population increases for a number of factors. For example with higher populations you get organized crime, gang warfare turf wars, black market economy and is not in direct proportion to smaller towns. More people, more animosity, more folk who exhibit antisocial behaviours. These factors change the rate as population increases. Having said that, a different problem exists in applying the rate to small towns. Consider a city that has 130k people. If there are 4 murders a year, the rate is 1 murder per 32500. If it were Toronto, that rate would equate to 100 murders/year, about double the rate for Toronto, I think. For a smaller town, 1500 people, 1 murder a year is 1/1500. The rate looks like it's very high. This happens because when the population is low, every single murder represents a larger percentage. Based on this statistic alone it could be the highest murder rate per capita in Canada. But it is still only low total number.
  16. Very insightful comments
  17. I'm afraid you are wrong, friend. You are describing what those words mean in terms of ordinary language. I said scientific terms. Many folk confuse "theory" with "hypothesis". The poster ?Impact described them well enough.
  18. No, I didn't. I actually thought you were Russian.
  19. An investigation, or at least some kind of explanation is in order. For example, what if she didn't think of doing it herself. What if somebody such as an adult put her up to it? That might change things significantly. From what I understand a lot of people were really scared. Some were afraid to send their kids to school. That is something like terrorism.
  20. Word on the news is that the Police commissioner has stated, the investigation is closed and no charges will be laid. Of course, not sure if we can believe the news anymore...
  21. Right, the poster does not understand the scientific terms Theory and Proof.
  22. I never understood why he needed to weigh in on it in the first place. My initial reaction was, how terrible, some nut attacking a child. But things like this happen dozens of times daily across the country, I mean minor assault on an adult or child, whether racially motivated or not. This is ONE incident, and the outcome was reportedly did not cause bodily harm. Why should the Prime Minister and Premier have anything to say about this? They did so without corroboration. Ok fine, no one expected it to be a fake incident. Now we know. But WHY did they have to say anything about this single isolated incident? The answer is completely obvious, forget about whether is was corroborated or not. The reason can only be politically motivated.
  23. Indeed the notion that Boges proposes, that it should be fine for Canada to take in thousands of Haitians because we already have poor people is disingenuous. We cannot take care of our own poverty here, why the hell would we want to increase it? That is the road that Justin Trudeau has us on, ghettoization, and all the associated problems, crime, child neglect, disease. On the other hand Trudeau could give them government paid-for homes, new clothes, continued financial support as in welfare like they`ve done for Syrian refugees. That would make sense... especially in light of the fact he can barely lift a finger to offer help to poor Canadians. Report in June 2017- Canada ranks poorly among wealthy nations for children’s well-being This problem is long standing, and in fact RISING in Canada. It did so under Stephen Harper, and it continues to do so under Justin Trudeau. But we digress... this thread is about America under Trump: America's Child-Poverty Rate Has Hit a Record Low OCT 5, 2017
  24. More fallout from Hawaii incident. Hawaiian congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D) blames the situation on "decades of failed leadership in this country."

      OftenWrong

... and while the congresswoman's comments are what I would call a tiny bubble of non-partisan sanity in an otherwise insane world, the reaction from some on the left is becoming all too predictable. This is Trump's fault.

      Jamie Lee Curtis-
"This Hawaii missle scare is on YOU Mr. Trump. The real FEAR that mothers & fathers & children felt is on YOU. It is on YOUR ARROGANCE. HUBRIS. NARCISSISM. RAGE. EGO. IMMATURITY and your UNSTABLE IDIOCY. Shame on your hate filled self. YOU DID THIS!"

      DogOnPorch

Had Trump only submitted to the nuclear blackmail of North Korea, none of this would have happened...seems to be the media's line.
