  1. OMG, now robo has to admit that Clinton slept with thousands of underage girls, because there's a picture. Unless he's some kind of hypocrite 😱

  2. Food price increases are more in Canada, than some other G7 nations because our main food exporting country decided tariffs would be a wonderful idea. What the article below leaves out is corporate price gouging. Profit margins in grocery retail has increased significantly. https://retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2025/10/canadas-food-inflation-surges-to-top-of-g7-rankings/ Much of the renewed pressure can be traced back to trade policy. The counter-tariffs introduced in March, combined with new U.S. measures, have quietly inflated costs across the entire food chain. Tariffs are, by nature, inflationary—they disrupt market efficiencies, raise input prices, and trigger retaliatory actions that make goods more expensive on both sides of the border.

  3. Western Europe has better neighbours. They have learned to truly respect each other. By contrast, the US is barely able to cope with a trade area of three countries.

  5. good points - but they don't conform to the Manifest Destiny belief for N.A. Re; "the rest of the World wouldn't allow it"? I was referring to blowback of any Nation taking possession of such an increasingly strategic piece of real estate. European history is a good study on this type of thing. The global community would put extreme diplomatic / economic pressure on the U.S. x2 if China does become the #1 Global economy (dread that). It wouldn't be worth the squeeze - esp since Canada is more than willing to support the U.S. (language, culture, language, values) - it IS after all an ally. All that said, annexation would conform to the Manifest Destiny. Strategically, Canada's strategic / economic value will only increase this century - water, minerals, educated workforce, Tim Horton's, ENERGY- treasure trove, baby! Not sure if we're actively trying to shit the pit right now, but those that think that way should be forgiven.

  6. That's not what they told me...5 brokers all said the same thing...a wildfire within 50 km. I admit I'm in an unprotected area - and more than 300 m from a fire hydrant but that's always been accounted for in past insurance policies. There's been as much crime around my neighborhood as there have been wildfires...none IOW. Armed to the teeth? You strike me as that type alright.

  7. Youth in Canada the country's least happy generation For the first time today's youth are the least happy generation, believing they don't have much future. And in general canadians are far less happy than they were. Add this to our slide in gdp per capita and all the other metrics we've badly lost ground in. The kids may have a point The World Happiness Report says Canadians under 30 were the happiest age group in the country as recently as 2011. Now, they’re the unhappiest. The 2024 edition of the decades-long study of global happiness, published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, asked participants to picture their life as a ladder, with the best possible life at 10 and the worst at zero. While many countries among the 134 covered by the research have also seen happiness levels fall among those under 30 since 2006, the slide of young Canadians down the ladder is exceptional. Only four countries have seen a worse decline — Jordan, Venezuela, Lebanon and Afghanistan.

  9. Seems to be a huge part of it Don't DO anything or offer solutions just whine louder and louder it's someone elses fault. Take it to the hypocritical extreme you support the party that wants govt out of your life all the while complaining the govt isn't doing enough for you.

  11. If anyone commits any crime, then the full weight of the law should be put on them. What you seem to be implying is that if a Democrat commits that crime, then it absolves Republicans - like Trump - from the same crime. No, they all should be held accountable. Now, this thread is about the Epstein files, so I will mention that Susie Wiles, in her Vanity Fair interviews, said that Bill Clinton is not in the files. She says she has read the Epstein files, and in her words: Trump has claimed, without evidence, that Bill Clinton visited Epstein’s infamous private island, Little St. James, “supposedly 28 times.” “There is no evidence” those visits happened, according to Wiles; as for whether there was anything incriminating about Clinton in the files, “The president was wrong about that.”

  12. This is a funny thing to say considering only Trump has had a verdict made against him for sexual abuse and not only do the Republicans protect him, they treat him like he is a god That's because it was so heavily redacted, including whole pages blacked out

  13. the following quote is something I just read just now: The trick is older than the humidity. Take something tired. Wrap it in bravado. Demand applause. That is what the Trump administration just did with this so-called 1776 Warrior Dividend. It was a dog and pony show. Not even a polished one. The kind of county-fair routine where somebody drags out a plywood stage, plugs a microphone into a generator, and insists you are witnessing history. Nothing about that announcement was governance. It was choreography. It was a branding activation disguised as gratitude. A patriotic number. A heroic noun. And a pot of money that already existed, already appropriated, already pointed at military housing needs. They did not create anything. They renamed something. That is the dog. That is the pony. Look over here. Do not notice the ledger. Inside the 1776 Rebrand – A Dog-and-Pony Show Masquerading as Military Support

  14. @Legato - a simple fact check would reveal to you that that particular law did not make it legal to blow boats out of the water. There is nothing in it about unrestricted use of force. Ian Ralby (archived here), an attorney and non-resident senior fellow at the Center for Maritime Strategy who specializes in maritime security, told Lead Stories via email about the 1986 Maritime Drug Law Enforcement Act: He continued: https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/fact-check-maritime-drug-law-074942943.html Besides, your post does not answer mine - the point is that these boat strikes are not based on any drug action, but effecting regime change in Venezuela., despite the spectacle Trump is using to distract the American people from his real purposes. “We want it back,” (Trump) added. “They took our oil rights — we had a lot of oil there. As you know they threw our companies out, and we want it back.” https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-we-want-it-back-trump-demands-venezuela-return-land-oil-rights-to-u-s

  16. It'll be more than that. There's 500,000 migrants in the asylum line right now, and that number keeps growing. We have an 87% acceptance rate (highest in the Western world) which means about 435,000 will be accepted as permanent residents over the next four years. So roughly 100k per year in addition to the almost 400k immigrants. Carney's government also mentioned in the fine print of the budget that an additional 150k people here now, mostly foreign workers and students, will be given PR over the next three years.

  20. Only a leftie would think that simple facts and truth is "gaslighting". Trump did something every politician in the history of mankind did, reannounce a previous announcement and make it sound exciting, and you're trying to pass it off as a "con job", only to get cornered when confronted by the fact poliicians you like do EXACTLY THE SAME THING Remember when carney promised he'd pay for displaced workers "with tariff money", despite the fact it just goes into general revenue? The sad thing here is that there's plenty of legitimate things to criticize trump about. But apparently you think trump is so great, that the only way you can criticize him is to create fake controversy that is easily challenged. Really so enamored with trump's performance that you have to conjure up false accusations? Do better.

  21. Mainly by believing things should stay the same which they don't, by expecting and not being grateful for what they do have and by denying opportunities they do have as 'too difficult' to achieve. The attitude that someone else has to give you a job is prevalent, as is the lack of ability to communicate (sell themselves) on top of a lack of ambition in so many. When I know a woman who came from the Phillpines 15 years ago, raised a daughter as a single Mom as she plugged away at menial work and managed to turn her sewing hobby into dresses shown on fashion runways and costumes for Hollywood North and TFWs who in 6 years of making sub sandwiches are now citizens with public service jobs, and local kids who quit jobs expecting $30 start wages with no trining and no seniority I shake mt head. Like with the kid who cut my small lawn and I gave him $40 to ensure he'd come back didn't. Didn't think it was worth it for 20 minutes of work. Another got a plow for his ols truck and surprise! no one will pay him $75 to plow a 50 ft residential driveway.

  22. Getting away from the personal whack-a-mole at each other, all the Evacuation Orders and Alerts have now been lifted. Hope the new colder weather warnings don't turn all the roads in the Fraser Valley into skating rinks. Half the cheap retreads in the Lower Mainland won't shell out for snow tires.

  24. I appreciate Trump is doing his thing for Americans, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it as a Canadian. I'd even buy a Russian truck right now before an American one, if it was allowed, but you can't import Russian-made vehicles into Canada.

  30. As was pointed out already you're a filthy liar. If anything I was quite cordial to you, but as always you begin to attack other people when you don't like that they say and then you immediately go to spamming the hell out of the forum I'm using lee it is always me that tells you you'll get the respect you deserve. Then you immediately act like a disrespectful ass and get treated as such. Then whine. And you do it everyday. As I previously noted you woke up this morning and the very first thing you did was run around and find all my posts and put little down errors on them. And it's not like you disagree with them all I know, some of them have been posts like how I said it was wrong to let old people die alone and you still downvoted it . We all give each other a hard time from time to time but you act like a complete 12-year-old tard constantly. It's not like everyone hasn't told you this before

  31. Yes, I did say that as I was defending eyeball. confux said "No, he's (strangely) Correct this time," to a question I asked eyeball. He came to me with his comment....he did not have to say a thing but.... As for the election part...confiux has been dissing, calling names and throwing insults at 90+% of the people he responds to. Not just me. (look that up too) I call him LOSER and down vote him and lately others that have jumped on his bandwagon and they get that tag too. I have told confux many times, stop responding to me and I will stop but, he does not so, the saga continues. And the issue between me and confux was going on long before the election. I only repeat again and again because it is not worth saying anything else and he blows up... I am a child, teenager, kid and so many other detrimental names, I find it fun and entertaining to rub his nose in it. Like I said, all he has to do is stop responding. And yes, it will remain like a skipping record as long as he keeps on. And his continued insults about my dead mother makes him not just ignorant but despicable. Just recently he made a comment abut my dead mother asking if she did not get enough customers.."your mom not have any 'customers' last night and couldn't afford to buy you the cookies"...insinuating she is a prostitute. I would say that is as low as a person can get. So, as I said, tit for tat and I do unto other as they do to me. Thanks for the opinion and discussion.

I suspect climate change has more to do with food inflation than you feel like acknowledging unless it's to blame lefties for that too.
