1) Knowing human nature, it's impossible that no native children were physically, sexually or emotionally abused. Even white kids - who didn't have to stay in school overnight for weeks at a time - were physically, emotionally and sexually abused by nuns/priests. (I can't say how bad it was relatively, because sexual abuse is such a traumatic experience for anyone that it can never be minimized, but being trapped in that situation for weeks at a time would add a whole other level to it) 2) Knowing human nature, it's impossible that no native children were cared for to the greatest extent human possible. People are people, and no doubt some of the nuns and priests who took on that kind of role would have been some of the best people imaginable, and did the very best job that they possibly could, under the circumstances. And native people have testified to that, so we know it's true. It's just not allowed to be part of the main narrative. The biggest problem with the fake "Truth and Reconciliation" narrative is that we are being led to believe that everyone fell into category 1 and there wasn't a category 2. Basically "Every child was abused, all the time, and the overlords were all completely demonic without a trace of human decency. End of official story." The secondary problem with the fake "Truth and Reconciliation" narrative is that we are being led to believe that racism was the only reason for even having residential schools in the first place. But let's face it, the kids weren't turned into caucasians there, so that's obviously false. No one poured bleach on them. The simple fact is that 1) before 1875, eentire generations of first nations children were being raised in the stone age, 100%, and 2) the logistics of creating enough schools, spread all across the country, to provide every indigenous child with a school that they could walk to, and thereby join the modern age, was utterly beyond the realm of feasibility. It wasn't an age of cars, roads, or fixed addresses placed on regularly updated GPS maps, and even basic human safety in between cities, towns, and tribal encampments did not exist, at all, in remote areas. A healthy male with a horse wasn't guaranteed to survive a 100-mile journey, nor were they guaranteed to find a tribe after they travelled that far, because natives moved around seasonally. People who judge what was possible in 1874 based on conditions that exist today are just stupid beyond belief. With the roads, methods of transportation and wireless communications we have today, a 19-yr-old girl who is being yelled at by a guy in another car, anywhere in Canada, can get in touch with police and meet up with them within 15 minutes. In 1874 a 19-yr-old girl who was travelling in a remote area by herself, even just outside of a major centre like Kamloops, would be at the mercy of anyone they met, with no hope whatsoever of getting in touch with anyone. Little school-teachers couldn't just travel to and from day-schools in Tuktoyaktuk. You couldn't pay anyone to go up north do that. It's another story where "some cops somewhere did something bad", so every single instance of a missing or murdered woman is blamed on them, because that's how haters operate.2 points

The national embarrassment is blowing up in all his narcissistic glory this morning.... Watching him address military leaders who I guarantee will be questioning their careers after listening to this idi0t talk non-stop and nonsensically about himself. Naturally military leaders are there to listen to him talk about how great he is, the Gulf of 'Mexico', sleepy Joe Biden, autopens, his beautiful signature, tariffs, etc, etc, etc.... To even think this clown is the commander in chief of the worlds most powerful military is beyond scary.2 points

Why negotiate a treaty at all??? Either they become Canadian or leave!!! Move into the real world...pay your own way....for everything. I say null and void all existing treaties and take them all off our payment records and let them live as we all have to do.1 point

Millions have been spent on discovery and the result, none, nothing, zilch, zero, but here you are with a desperate attempt to perpetuate a lie. Your ducks go under the name Platypus.1 point

The best way to do that is through negotiated modern treaties. They will be and are already paying taxes here btw. You figure these treaties weren't negotiated with our interests in mind as well? Why do you think they took 50 years?1 point

LoL Admiral Rachel Levine has no military service in an armed forces branch, but she does hold the rank of four-star admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, one of the country's eight uniformed services. This non-military uniformed service is responsible for protecting public health and can be militarized during emergencies. Levine served as the leader of this corps and as the U.S. assistant secretary for health from 2021 to 2025. LoL again.1 point

The same schtick.... can't answer a question so you need to turn the tables, and with a totally asinine 'question' to boot... I know exactly what a woman is. I have a mother, wife, daughter and 2 granddaughters in my life so I'm well versed on what a woman is. Obviously you're not sure.... ask your Mom tonight.1 point

Well now we know why. So he and Trump could give their Fascist spiel about preparing for war against the fat, the woke and their own citizens. And threaten to fire anyone who didn't swear loyalty to the New Fuhrer over the Constitution. Court martial the Commander in Chief over that statement alone, prove the Armed Forces aren't spineless suckholes like the GOP.1 point

Look - the simple thought that reducing senior's benefits to cure the country's financial situation is insane. When coming from people deeply opposed to taxing the wealthy, even more insane. No one makes you retire, no one makes you collect your CPP/OAS and if you claim it and continue to work, it gets clawed back. YOU paid into it, so it's your money to claim. And I will repeat how it seems so popular an idea to f*ck over someone else and pretend it somehow benefits you. Do you think anyone at all over 60 supports raising the age of eligibility?1 point

Have you thought about the consequences of having no education system capable with our nations...How do they get jobs/ careers outside of the reserve, would it not have made them more dependent on the government...i mean more dependent than they are today....We have done nothing of any substance for these people except make them totally dependent on our nations government or wards of the state........very few escape and carry on with normal a life outside the reserve....1 point

If your going to make accusations then there should be a need for proof, that these children are in fact there....that should not be that hard to understand....it is done through our the globe....These children should be dug up and buried on Indian land with a proper burial by their own people....nothing disrespectful about any of that...1 point
-
I just wonder where the indigenous people would be today without the governments direct involvement...Don't get me wrong it was not carried out very well, but was it the right decision ?but one has to ask, should we have left them all alone on the reserves, would they have educated themselves, and would it have been acceptable to the rest of the world... I ask because they are a minority in this country, and if they wanted to escape life on the reserve how would they do that if they were not educated...1 point

No, we do not. In fact, we have a high and rising unemployment rate, especially among youths. You think young people not being able to get secure jobs at a decent salary and not able to afford housing might have something to do with that? Nonsense. Poor people are a loss to the taxpayers, not paying more than a fraction of what they use in government services.1 point

And when science speaks you hear Beelzebub. So the scripture tells you so. The thing about Big Religion that really makes it dangerous is how faith-based belief makes nonsense and fantastical thinking so respectable. I predict this will prove fatal going into a future fraught with complex interconnected problems that will require clear headed thinking above all else to survive. I doubt solving the worst of them is an option anymore meaning it's probably all ready too late. At this point you might as well resort to praying.1 point

LOL. You call it courage to decrease the retirement age and not to push it back!? This is something they've had riots over in other countries! Do you think this increased Harper's popularity with anyone, much less the middle-aged and older people who are the mainstay of elections? I fail to see how letting in a lot of poor people is going to enrich this country. Perhaps you could enlighten me? Cut off the billions in climate spending. Cut off all the money going to every advocacy, lobby, and activist group in Canada, and all the 'scientific studies' for gender rice in Vietnam or whatever, and all the billions going to third-world dictatorships to pad their Swiss bank accounts. Cut huge numbers of regulations and then the bureaucrats who look after those regulations. Especially slash restrictions on developing and selling our natural resources abroad. Modernize our ports, and lay off most of the dockyard workers, drive more pipelines to both coasts. Ahh, there we have it. The way to get elected is to keep promising things that we can't afford. The problem is that eventually we come to the point where nobody will loan us any money anymore. What do we do then?1 point

If anyone questions how hostile universities in Canada are towards anyone who is even moderately/mildly conservative, this story ought to demonstrate it. A University of Saskatchewan law student dared to mildly question DEI policies, and that began a multi-year process by the university to pillory him as an evil racist. And even worse than the university's behaviour is the behaviour of other law students, which is sort of what I've been talking about. These are the people who are going to be appointed as judges one day by the Liberal government. He mildly questioned DEI. His law school calls that 'misconduct' | National Post1 point

Rome's homeland had people and infrastructure, but not much in the way of resources - so reaching out and conquering other states is how they financed their orgy of growth. China is another example - huge population and very short on resources to exploiting the productivity of the people financed by massive debt (300% debt/GDP - but their GDP may be very inaccurate). The US managed to build their empire from that rare combination of resources, productivity and financial base, but as they grew their empire just as did old Rome their productivity slid to where no longer self sufficient to went very, very deep into debt financing. While Canada may be a G7 member, we live so close and are/were so integrated with the US economy we foolishly think we are doing something to be in that position. Well, it's not so much what we do as what we still have = resources. Our productivity has been ignored except by US car companies so our real economy has never been internally developed. The only reason we have come this far is by drawing water and hewing wood. Problem is: even a ruling city full of absolute m0rons can look at other countries and learn to play the debt game. You might notice the new captain of that ship thinks we can just develop more of our resources and everything will be just fine. But it won't. We rip ore out of the ground and sell it for a few hundred bux a tonne or in decreasingly fewer cases process it into base metals and sell it for a couple grand a tonne they buy it back as manufactured goods at 10x to 100x the value (with value added offshore). Simple answer: the socialist consumer/rape and pillage resources model of Canada is NOT sustainable.1 point

Sick thing is something like that would happen. Who remembers the Covid vaccine when it first came out and every liberal like "it's probably poison." Remember the liberal states were going to test it themselves before letting their people take it. Then Biden won and there was a complete 180 amd they wanted to make taking it mandatory.1 point

It doesn't matter what his credentials are he was ordered to leave the country by the Biden administration, he did nothing to get his status straight and was rightfully arrested by ICE and by the way led them on a car chase with 3k in his car and a loaded handgun. The real headline is that the Des Moines Schoold district hired him to be their Superintendent with no background check whatsoever which is an indictment on their hiring practices. I wonder how many other criminals they let slip through the cracks.1 point

In a day and age where plowing a vehicle into a crowd of people to make a statement is more commonplace this is just the sort of post that should be kept note of if not reported to someone. This is on par with talking about taking your gun to a school to teach people a lesson. Listen to yourself man. Get help. For help with intense anger or thoughts of violence in the US and Canada, call the 605 No Shoot Hotline at (605) 605-6050 to speak with someone who can help you de-escalate. For other anger support or mental health crises, call the National Crisis and Suicide Lifeline (988) in the US or Canada, or use the Hope for Wellness Helpline (1-855-242-3310) or the BC Mental Health Support Line (310-6789) in Canada.1 point
