Everyone can hear you rending your garments and gnashing your teeth from here If dementia level hyperbole was a power source you could end global warming tomorrow He's not doing anything wrong, he's just helping to enforce the law. You make it sound like he's trying to create a fake dossier of information in order to weaponize the intelligence agencies of the country to bring down a political opponent and undermine the presidency! Now THAT would be crazy! Right? Herbie? Right?.... hello? .....3 points

What is there to argue, governments have the authority to tell you how to behave and to follow instructions if and when it deems it necessary for you to do so. In other words it can force you. But of course you people are as hung up about the word force as you are the word lie so it's no wonder you can't think straight.2 points

So, basically, a guy supports enforcing immigration laws. Did we really need another thread on this? No. Why isn't your country taking all these people in?2 points

Very well said I would often goes unremarked is the damage done by dividing Canada as badly as Trudeau did in order to get votes. I saw many families ripped apart, there is a huge amount of anger that was never part of Canadian culture before out there, and as a country we are divided. Trump might bring us together for a few moments but then we begin immediately drifting apart. The harm wasn't worth it when you add it all up So why then hiking? Would you say that hiking boots are a major source of sparks and flame? You're a toddler2 points

We witness on here people posting articles with fake claims by DHS about how they are ridding America of criminal "illegal aliens", but this is a gross exaggeration and misinformation. quote Undocumented Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate Analysis of Texas arrest records indicates a consistent trend across violent, drug, property, and traffic offenses between 2012 and 2018. September 12, 2024 An NIJ-funded study examining data from the Texas Department of Public Safety estimated the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. The study found that undocumented immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of native-born U.S. citizens for violent and drug crimes and a quarter the rate of native-born citizens for property crimes. [1] The question of how often undocumented immigrants commit crimes is not easy to answer. Most previous research on crime commission by immigrant populations has been unable to differentiate undocumented immigrants from documented immigrants. As a result, most studies treat all immigrants as a uniform group, regardless of whether they are in the country legally. The estimates in this study come from Texas criminal records that include the immigration status of everyone arrested in the state from 2012 to 2018. These data enabled researchers to separate arrests for crimes committed by undocumented immigrants from those committed by documented immigrants and native-born U.S. citizens. (For more detail on the study’s data sources and methodology, see the sidebar “ What Makes the Texas Data Unique?”) The researchers tracked these three groups’ arrest rates across seven years (2012-2018) and examined specific types of crime, including homicides and other violent crimes. https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/undocumented-immigrant-offending-rate-lower-us-born-citizen-rate [2] They used 1/7 these arrest rates as proxies for the rates of crime commission for the three groups. It should be noted that arrest is a commonly used, but imperfect measure of crime that in part reflects law enforcement activity rather than actual offending rates. During this time, undocumented immigrants had the lowest offending rates overall for both total felony crime (see exhibit 1) and violent felony crime (see exhibit 2) compared to other groups. U.S.-born citizens had the highest offending rates overall for most crime types, with documented immigrants generally falling between the other two groups. Exhibit 1.Total felony crime offending rates in Texas for U.S.-born citizens, documented. unquote Undocumented Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate | National Institute of Justice quote Despite its centrality to public and political discourse, we lack even basic information on fundamental questions regarding undocumented immigrants and crime. This stems largely from data constraints. Going beyond existing research, we utilize data from the Texas Department of Public Safety, which checks and records the immigration status of all arrestees throughout the state. Contrary to public perception, we observe considerably lower felony arrest rates among undocumented immigrants compared to legal immigrants and native-born US citizens and find no evidence that undocumented criminality has increased in recent years. Our findings help us understand why the most aggressive immigrant removal programs have not delivered on their crime reduction promises and are unlikely to do so in the future. unquote Comparing crime rates between undocumented immigrants, legal immigrants, and native-born US citizens in Texas - PMC Crime rates lower among undocumented immigrants than US natives Immigrants are significantly less likely to commit crimes than the U.S.-born - Northwestern Now So if U.S. citizens are the ones committing more crimes, then maybe the answer is to find a place to send them outside the U.S. That would reduce the crime rate and possibly save taxpayers a lot of money.1 point

Breitbart - “If anyone needs a public school in NYC to attack for whatever reason… Lexus driving Israhell (sic) loving Zionisits (sic) Ziall attend here,” So many narratives here. First, AOC clearly has a problem with who she hires as her staff. They are hate filled, anti-semites that literally call for American children to be killed because of their faith. Second, the entire Democrat party is infested with these people. Yes, one of them said the quite part out loud, but none of them are rushing to say what she believe is wrong. They'll only say she shouldn't have posted it.1 point

Well Israel has tried dozens of ways to stop terrorism coming out of palestine , and now Gaza is in ruins, and Talks have started about getting rid of Hamas...this is the closet they have been to peace...continue military operations until everything in Gaza in rubble, and hamas is destroyed...1 point

Why, would any nation want to give credence to a terrorist nation, why does that make sense in the liberal mind, is it because you guys feel sorry for them, it is bad enough we send money to these terrorists so they can prolong this entire war....do you feel this is a good example of how our our tax dollars are spent....Or are we doing all of this just to p!ss off Trump?1 point

That's right. And those powers we grant them allow them to do reasonable things like temporarily banning woods travel during times of extreme fire risk brought on by extreme drought. Have you seen what's happening across the country? Now NB has announced a ban on any forest activity, while NFLD has had to declare an emergency in one area. They even had to pull fire fighters out from one fire because it's too dangerous! These temporary bans are right and sensible!1 point

2nd generation immigrants commit crimes at similar/higher rates. Non-Whites will commit more crimes. They account for over 90% of the gun crime in pretty much every major American city. Black Americans account for nearly 65% of all gun homicides at 13% of the population. Look at Canada. Black Canadians account for upwards of 20% of the annual murders at 5% of the population, commit 10x the gun crimes per capita.1 point

Truth: The Brandon administration allowed way too many refugees into America in too short o' time. Trump has to clean that mess up. Justice: The actions of ICE are justice for the victims of illegal aliens as well as all Americans. 1. You're making shit up, comrade, which means you are an apologist for criminal behavior. 2. And nobody gives a shit. What you're doing here is trying to justify illegal alien activity when they're not supposed to be here in the first place. The truth is, every f*cking illegal who crosses our borders is breaking immigration law, so they're ALL criminals. Illegal aliens commit crimes at a 100% rate which means they commit at a much higher rate than Texans.1 point

No one here is framing anything of the kind, you're trying to change it into that because you know you can't argue what they are saying. As a far left-wing socialist I get that you have a fondness for government overreach government telling you how to run every aspect of your life. But people who appreciate the idea of freedom and personal rights recognize that there is such a thing as overreach and that government shouldn't unnecessarily or unreasonably tread on the right and choices of the people If you had your weight the government would tell you what to have for breakfast1 point

No i don't but the other 99 % of those that do see pretty much everyone....there will always be that one guy or person...in any thing we do in life...people still drink and drive and yet we have not banned driving to save lives ...because of a few mindless people... I would hope like the premiere here in NB did that you would take the reasonable choice, and not over react like NS premier did... we only have one small fire , nothing of the size you have in BC or out west...and historically we have never had huge fires like that in the last 10 years...not saying it could not happen, it just has not happened...thanks to reasonable people...1 point

People i bike with, know what is at stack and if your being a dick in the woods are not afraid of telling you or calling off road enforcement to sort you out...around here there are hundreds of bikers riding up and down the trail system everyday...it drastically improves surveillance when people are out and about... I've been biking for decades , on trails that are managed and groomed so there is no grass or tinder on the trails, so hot exhausts are not the issue...there are close 8000 kms of trails managed by New Brunswick All Terrain Vehicle Federation not to mention private trails that other clubs or people mange maybe another 4 to 5000 kms worth starting fires from exhausts are not the big problem here...ATV ties in with Skidooing....same trails all looked after very well.... https://experiencenewbrunswick.com/2024/03/09/atv-trails-nb/ And i is not going to alter anyone's life in a drastic way...but i don't think you understand what goes on in our province this is not just a couple of guys out on a weekend. our trails see plenty of bikes on weekdays and thousands on the weekends...it is not just a hobby, it is a way of life it is what we do for entertainment ...and i get you disagree, i don't get the impression you own a bike or side by side, or spend much time in the woods....will i die if i can't go in...no i won't ... we are not having the issue with Forests fires as BC does...Yes it is really dry here, and only one small fire burning thats been in the news... Maybe all the fools should be getting 25,000 fines, and doing time in jail, so they are not in the woods and the rest of responsible people can enjoy it more...1 point

Yes it saved lives, but thats only one part of the equation...we doubled our national debt load, we still are unbelievable unprepared for the next virus whatever that may be...long term care still broken, we are critically short on medical equipment, mobile medical equipment, critical medication supply chain is still broken....there are a lot more areas we said we would correct to be better prepared than covid....China is still messing with plenty of virus and like us never learned a whole lot from covid...These are lessons not learned.... Hey i'm all for vaccines, i got mine because of my medical conditions....but i also support freedom of choice to get it or not...what i do not believe in is subjecting children to the vaccine knowing they did not need it... not sure what anti vaccine info your talking about unless it was the remark about the children...1 point

I would disagree, with the handling part....making deals with China to find a vaccine was a mistake, Government had also been warned that many crucial medical supplies were in a critical state and ignored that warning....also we had NO way of producing the right kind vaccines here in Canada, and still don't, other medication that suffered from supply chain issues is still not corrected....we did not have enough medical machines required to service mass casualties, like respirators, etc...still dont'...and the massive amount of funds spent during covid , no one can account for most of it...it was a free for all....Covid also brought up other issues hidden away like long term care it to has not been fixed....did we survive most of us did, but it was not pretty...or handled well... The fact the government rushed in experimental vaccines was a problem, the military did the same thing when they rushed in antimalarial pills to the military....during somalia and looked how that turned out...fridays were know as freaky fridays because the pills made you high as you can get...that would not have been to bad but all of us had loaded weapons and access to some mean machinery... And to top it all off, they knew Kids did not need the shot, and yet the exposed all our children to the unknown...So was it well thought out...no...it was not, did we get lucky that the virus was not more deadly ...yes we were...So while i did get my shots....i know many that did not and everything turned out all right in the end...1 point

I've talked about many places in my posts, doesn't mean i've live there today...so no i did not pick up what your throwing down.... Your one of the lucky ones, but most of NS , NB the province is one huge forrest, except in the urban areas, but most of us live in the country and are surrounded by trees, now yes i can drive to the ocean or beach for 45 mins and enjoy outdoor life, but most here people have camps in the woods...., and hobbies include atving , hiking in the woods, fishing brooks and streams, even in the back country rivers you need to go through the woods...YOU may find these laws don't effects you...but others think it is a little dramatic to fine someone 25,000 plus taxes and victims fees... for going in the woods as a responsible adult...maybe in NS you don't have many of those who knows...the ones i know are fine... Responsable people take precautions when in the woods....which might be 99 % of the population. Yes Forrest fires are expensive, thanks capt obvious, and a good majority of the population know that and practice good fire prevention techniques... I don't recall whining about anything, just stating that most of NS is wooded and plenty of people live / work in the woods....They may be privilege's, to to many they are a way of life...and when someone screws with them people get upset....banning the population from entering the woods is not going to stop anything, those goof balls that start these fires are going to do that regardless....having responsable people out there is another means of enforcement. In our entire history banning anything has a means to control the population has not worked...At Least Here in NB they took the reasonable route , yes they jacked up the fines, but those are for the wingnuts deserve those type of fines... I think about my responsibilities everyday, and have not burned down one tree in the process...imagine that...Nor do i need some karen telling me what i need or don't need to do....NS government jumped the gun and went way overboard...on this one...as most common sense would tell you...1 point

Yes, that appears to be your enjoyment... being a partisan hack. Not surprisingly Carney enjoys majority support from Canadian's but like all elected officials, needs to do the job. 3 months is hardly enough time to change the world so we'll see what happens. If he can't do as expected during his term hopefully the conservatives can find a leader this time around that can actually lead.1 point

A random observation wrt the hatred directed at jews: Media reporting of some of the assaults is an interesting study if you take the time or have the inclination to look into individual attacks on Jews. Here's the CBC report of one in Montreal: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/montreal-police-investigating-attack-father-1.7605147 For whatever reason, It didn't include an available video though. Even though it's limited and inconclusive it still reeks of deliberate targeting when you see the presence of children and the kippah getting tossed at the end. I took a passing interest in this particular event because of the kids and found the video on (Gasp cover your ears Roboturd) Rebel News... Here it is Zoom in on the attacker, is that the reason it was omitted? Maybe just me but another point of interest is that in all the (albeit random) cases I've looked into I see that the attackers are not "fighters" by any reasonable definition of the word and there seems to be no shortage of people standing about with cameras filming the action. There was a time when immediate intervention in such things would have been far more likely than reaching for a cell phone. In fact, were you to stand back and simply video the action you would have been viewed as a loathsome creature. That's clearly no longer the case and we're now (collectively) OK with that it seems. I think we've lost a piece of ourselves in the bargain though. If the statistics I hear are close to true, it seems that well under 1% of the population now have the skills (at a basic level) or inclination to intervene in cases of obvious need. The presence of children here is what adds a "sense of urgency" IMO. Not sure what to make of that but somehow I feel disturbed by it. It also explains (at least to me) why military and police recruiting / retention is so challenging now. The people inclined to throw themselves into such things have always made up the recruiting demographic that used to run at about 5%. Small number I know but we're losing ground if the new number is truly under 1%. Artificially expanding the traditional demographic parameters through targeted / DEI hiring will not fix the problem, it will make it worse. Perversely (to some) getting into the stream needs to be significantly more difficult, more selective... and yes, more elitist in terms of competency. Running fat farms prior to basic training may be inclusive but it doesn't seem to be "working out" too well and I'm inclined to say "I told ya so." I'm guessing most people who watch the video (or similar ones) have a range of emotions: disgust maybe, concern, anger perhaps, a sense of how did we get here, etc. BUT, how many get that burning head to toe adrenaline rush that smoulders for the rest of the day and propels their pushup count to new levels. Personally, this will have me smouldering for days... not good during a fire ban eh?1 point

As usual you don't know WTF you're talking about. Woods travel bans have been imposed many times in the past in many provinces. So have backwood skiing bans when there's avalanche conditions. Fishing, hiking, Atv riding, etc... are not banned! Plenty of place to do those things without going into the woods. Ever seen a forest fire near your home? I have! It's scary and a temporary restriction on woods travel is a sensible, effective way of avoiding them. So sit in your basement and find some other "Assault on your rights" to be self-righteously indignant about. ID!OT!1 point
