  1. That you don't know anything about sociology and are too lazy to examine the statistics. The communities with the best success are the ones who prioritize education and have the least one-parent families. That is, in order, Asians, Jews, and Mormons. After that, general whites, and then other minorities. AI Overview The U.S. provides Israel with approximately $3.8 billion in aid annually, primarily for military assistance. This commitment is part of a larger, ten-year agreement signed in 2016, totaling $38 billion, and extends through 2028. You're just realizing this now?

  2. No sovereign government can allow a foreign president to dictate our domestic tax policy according to his own ideology. Trump’s claims are ridiculous the digital services tax applies to Canadian and non-Canadian businesses alike so this not about trade fairness and not “an attack on USA” as the orange id1ot declared The MAGAs simply want to impose their ideology and remake us in their image and Trump wants to serve his tech bro clients And this is yet another nail in the coffin for the claim that Trump prefers Liberals because it’s easier to get his way with them. As he has said many times in the past, he again complained that the Liberals are “very difficult” negotiators. What do you think PP would have done? TBH this is better than some kind of settlement where we have to at least symbolically bend the knee to the mad king and everyone gets accustomed to being a US vassal state just with terms slightly worse than before. Let’s keep diversifying away from USA and get building the stronger better Canada of the future

  3. We have little to no choice... Commit with ally partners or be on our own little island which isn't sustainable. To say we're not going to upgrade our antiquated military, but expect big brother and other allies to protect us if needed doesn't fly. If we want to be a sovereign nation we need to act like it and be able to protect ourselves. 5% is not insane.... Far less annually than what we spent on covid pandemic. 1.5% of the 5% is for infrastructure but both spends will create business, jobs and revenue. Still have 4 years before NATO review. The world will also look a lot different in 4 years so 5% might become 3% or 7% by then.

  4. lol.... There's no lies coming from him that are of any consequence one way or another, except to those who wanted PP. Budget will come when he knows what the landscape is after getting the tariff agreement is done. Hard to give fiscal guidance when you don't know the immediate future. A large number of companies in Corporate America have done the same thing and pulled their earning guidance because they don't know what's going on with the sh*t show known as Trump. No big deal. Until then it doesn't affect our credit rating or affect the credibility of why Carney got elected. Gives the opposition something to chirp is about it....

  5. No need to read the whole thread anymore to figure out how much of an idjit robo is, just look at that sentence. You've blown past m0r0n and cultist, straight to "Ayatollah's parrot" with one sentence. Now your support of all of the sh1ttiest American and Canadian politician over the last 15 years makes perfect sense: I'd be a Kamala Harris supporter too if I was an Iranian puppet. Note to left4rds: When you're agreeing with robo, you're not actually agreeing with another "concerned Canadian or American citizen" - you're agreeing with a person whose end goal is the fall of western civilization. That's how shitty Trudeau, Biden, Clinton and Harris are... Their most ardent supporters are the enemies of our countries.

  7. @mods, this thread title is misleading. Can we change it to "Herbie is a F-ing Dingbat"? Thanks in advance. Honestly, I just fail to see the connection between "Carney saying that he's going to raise Canada's defence budget" and "The Age of America is Over." Is it one of those "If a butterfly flaps its wings..." things?

  9. **ahem** Except you. Because you were upset enough by it to reply. Do you realize how many times you have told people you don't care what their opinions are? You basically said all Canadian opinions are worthless, I can't count how many times your told me, User, Legato and others you don't care about their opinion. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, that you are so closed minded that you aren't willing to accept any information that transcends your preconceived notions?

  12. Listen to you Magatts and traitors carry on. The oaf just called off the whole trade talks over a tax IN CANADA for digital services doing business IN CANADA.* And you all act like he has even the slightest right to do so. Just weeks after threatening Europe over 'wonderful US beef' filled with hormones, dies, antibiotics and preservatives like no other place has any right to set its own rules about anything. All the whining over the WTO is just an attempt to force the whole world to submit to US made in Washington Trade Law. Goddam dupes! *even dumber, Americans will pay tariffs instead of Canadians paying those digital taxes.

  13. Explain the difference That makes absolutely no sense. The fact they didn’t rollover is proof that they will roll over? What exactly do you think he would do if they were ere actually difficult negotiators? That’s exactly what’s happening right now but you’re suggesting it’s a sign of failure not the road to success. We will see. At some point there will be a “new normal” and I suspect that even if Carney gets 99.99% of what Canadians want conservatives will claim that he caved, bent the knee and sold out. Meanwhile if PP is the PM when things are settled even if he caves to the US on 99.99% of issues conservatives will tout the 0.01% as a landslide victory That’s how that judgment will go, same as it ever does.

  15. Most religions in the world are false and that is why they have big problems. The middle east is full of false religionists which is what you are speaking about and they don't believe the Bible. There may be a small number of Bible believing Christians in the middle east as there are in many places, but they don't cause the troubles. We shouldn't generalize about all religions. There is a world of difference in beliefs between Bible believers and false religionists. It requires some study to understand the different beliefs. The situation in the middle east is another subject.

  19. Well the thing is they often pay the consultants or consultants companies that the news organizations hire to give them information or comment on information. And they absolutely definitely funnel tons of money into various activist groups who can put pressure on news stations and reporters. You'll recall during the truck are protest for example when cBC announced that the truckers were being funded by pro-trump forces in the united states primarily. Turned out that that was 100% completely false, but they arrived at that based on information prepared by an activist type of person who deliberately twisted the information available to create that image. CBC of course didn't feel they needed to apologize for the mistake later because they said they were acting in good faith on information from an expert. But of course they should have known that the expert did not have enough information to be able to make that statement, but now they've got plausible deniability. None of this happens by accident

  23. It's worth noting that Kearney has already doubled the amount of money by $25 billion that we're going to be spending on independent consultants to do work that the government employees are supposed to be capable of already. we know how this works. Trudeau and now carney funnel vast amounts of taxpayer dollars into fake we're useless third party companies that do no real work and pocket billions to do it and then when they leave politics they're invited to sit on the board of directors where they will do nothing at all and receive salaries of several hundred thousand a year. You get 10 or 11 of those going and Retire on a nice tidy little income into the millions

  25. That's a perfect example of the sh1t that comes from the mouths of left4rd cultists, daily. For example, Nortel was swirling into the toilet, looking at bankruptcy, and begging for a buyer. That wasn't an example of a Canadian PM selling a Canadian company that he didn't even own, it's a sinking business that found a buyer. An example of a Canadian PM screwing over a country is: the last LPOC PM we had went on TV to announce to the world that we were phasing out our oil sands, causing investors to promptly back out of 4 major energy investments with over $130 billion. Those energy investments could have been helping us fend off trump's hostile takeover bid on our country, but now they're still not even on the radar. And just a few minutes ago I replied thusly to a post from missing link, after she talked about where to invest money: A wiser option would be to invest in companies that Carney and his friends and associates are invested in, regardless of the quality and price of what they're selling, or if we even need it. An example of that is the WE "charity", who were friends and associates of the Trudeau family, and who made Hitler Youth style propaganda for Justin. Canada didn't need to give $900M to a company like that, and in the end we didn't, and you never noticed a glaring void. But Trudeau found an excuse to shovel piles and piles of cash to his cronies at WE, just like Chretien got the BoC to finance the purchase of one of his properties, just like Carney will do now that he's PM. It's how Libs roll. And when it comes time to either defend $135 billion worth of investments in Alberta, or to curb-stomp our democracy to protect a criminal entity like SNC Lavalin - that notorious briber of Liberal bureaucrats - Carney will do the latter and the CBC will barely mention it. And you'll be happy, because you're a cultist dipshit.

  26. What is so consequential of Brookfield moving to NY? I'd like to think I'm rational and capable... and did vote for the best leader choice we had in this election - Carney, as most Canadian's did. Who would have ever thought that a 24% lead can go BOOM...GONE that quick. Wow....

  28. So you admit, WMD's had nothing to do with it. As bad as Saddam was, his removal and the destruction of Iraq as a functioning country removed the biggest counterbalance to Iran and spawned the birth of ISIS and the mess that followed. The US has propped up plenty of dictators over the years, mostly in Central and South America.

  29. Don't forget the thunderstruck thing.... You're making an assumption I'm a card carrying LPOC member. Carney's not my master, but easily the best choice we had in this election. And to think..... a 24% lead gone just like that.....BOOM, GONE! Say's as much about Carney as what it does for PP. But yeah, very okay with Carney sitting in the big seat right now....

  33. lol.... except for the $1B federal bank loan to BC ferries for the 4 ships from China. Part of the problem we have now with being so f*cking stagnant over the years.... no Canadian shipyard bid on BC ferry tender because they don't have capacity. If we'd been investing in our military and infrastructure over the years the ship building industry might be in a spot with manpower and scale that they could produce for BC ferries.

  34. Just my opinion and admittedly I'm a bit out of touch now, but attrition (largely in the form of experienced folks) has now reached a point where regeneration will be difficult, costly and time consuming. I'm not even sure it can be done without a complete pause in operational tempo and it will take years to grow back what's been carelessly squandered. We're actually losing recruits due to extended training delays now and DEI issues remain a problem as it skews recruiting priorities to non standard streams that aren't based on fitness and competence. That's a bigger problem than people might think because the pool of top candidates who are ready, willing, and able is small and it comes from the traditional supply stream whether Herb likes it or not. By prioritizing outside that stream you end up losing top candidates to such things as policing and firefighting who are every bit a hungry as the military... they're better at intake and training too. If the budget suddenly went to 5% of GDP I'm not convinced the military could even spend it wisely now. By way of example I think manning the new UAVs and P8s will prove very challenging for the RCAF. Recruiting, retention, and operational tempo is a three legged stool that requires constant monitoring... we didn't do that. Not only did we unbalance the legs of the stool, we got rid of all the carpenters who could fix it. So yes, you can use the new budget to buy more stools but there's not enough butts to sit on them and most of the butts currently available are too fat anyway. Sometimes you reach a point where the money to buy stools isn't the issue or even the problem... I think that's where we are now.

  42. Absolutely....don't blame the US at all for pressing on the NATO spend, and ours in particular. We've been nothing but complacent for too many years doing little to nothing while our military and its equipment became antiquated. With my limited knowledge of the defence industry I do know that the US is the best with their weapons and technology systems. Again, agree with Carney though that we spend too much of every defence dollar with the US and need to diversify that, which can also help trade agreements with other countries. End of the day though our geographic location is what it is and we're always going to be lock step with the US economically and what looks to be militarily now as well. Either way....hopefully Carney will learn from the past and engage the appropriate people to make the best decisions for today and tomorrow. You must need to wear a helmet when you go outside....don't you?

  47. Try this one again or run away like you almost always do: So... no idea if any of that is accurate, but lets assume that is what Carney said... Then Canada was never a reliable military partner to begin with. He just admitted they are not going to meet their obligations as part of NATO, which they are a member of and benefit from, but to spite the United States. And you cheer that on? I mean, do you even realize how stupid of a position that is? America has carried NATO for as long as NATO has existed with our military size and the threat we posed to any adversaries. But yeah, sure, we are not the reliable ones because we fund our military to meet and exceed NATO obligations while Canada doesn't.
