Something doesn't add up. Normally, these funds are capitalized using budget surpluses (they are common in non-Western, oil-rich countries) but the US has an enormous federal deficit. On the campaign trail, Trump said he would build the fund using revenue from his planned tariffs and “other intelligent things.” Another scheme3 points

I think this will be the most interesting election in a long time. A lot will depend on who the Liberals pick and how the leaders perform during the campaign. Looks to be a lot closer than anyone would have thought a couple of months ago. Trump handed the Liberals a real lifeline with his tariff threats and 51st state BS.3 points

So, Mike Benz pointed out that Liz Cheney worked at USAID. Does anyone wonder why she was so adamant about getting Trump? Any how, she wanted to "end" the story by being out in front and admitting she was there and talking about all the noble things she did for USAID. Ok, that's fine. Here's what she had to say: Just one ittty bitty little problem. She didn't start working at USAID until 1993 and her resume claim of "win[ning] the Cold War, defeat[ing] Soviet communism..." can't be true. If there was no USSR, there was no Soviet Communism to beat and no Cold War to win. She lied.2 points

Oh, I see, so you would like an unelected demagogue to have access to Medicare and Social Security payments and all other programs of the American government. Hell with Congress. It seems the fears about the death of democracy were not overstated.2 points

Um, she said America won the Cold War, defeated communism, and defended democracy, not her.2 points

Like Putin, Trump still believes that power resides in geography - land, resources, canals - rather than technology. China is rapidly catching up with the US in critical areas like AI, batteries and missiles and all he can think of is Greenland and Panama.2 points

OMG, dummy. Have you never heard of Dr Blasey-Ford? E. Jean Carroll? No one is as dedicated to using slander as a political weapon as the Dems are. It's basically their go-to move. "We have no good reason to oppose the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the SC, aside from the fact that we found one single person on God's green earth to randomly say that she was almost raped by him in about 1986 or 1987, but she can't remember what town it happened in, she has no witnesses, she never reported it to police or talked about it with school counsellors, she doesn't remember how she got home that night, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... BUT WE ALL HAVE TO BELIEVE HER!!!!" Your posts are comedy gold.2 points

Other than publicly disagreeing with Trump about taking over Canada and about tariffs, and endorsing policies that go completely against what MAGA would want?2 points

A large number of people reject the idea of using the Bible as a basis for public policy. The West was established and thrived in separation of church and state. People who don't accept that centuries-old cornerstone are increasingly seen as unhinged IMO.2 points

Trump and Musk have both demonstrated a pattern of smearing those they want to take down. Ethics and honesty play no part in their strategy, only self-interest. The harm they cause is devastating to many, many people. And in a lot of cases like the misinformation presented in the OP, the source can be traced back to Russia. A video recently posted on X, falsely bearing the E! News watermark, claims that USAID paid Angelina Jolie $20 million, Sean Penn $5 million, Jean-Claude Van Damme (misspelled in the footage) $1.5 million, Orlando Bloom $8 million, and Ben Stiller $4 million to complete their respective visits to Ukraine. It has been retweeted by Elon Musk, Donald Trump Jr., and Sidney Powell, and has millions of views. It is fake and totally false and the original source of the claim comes from a Russian propaganda channel. “These are lies coming from Russian media,” Stiller posted on X (formerly Twitter). “I completely self-funded my humanitarian trip to Ukraine. There was no funding from USAID and certainly no payment of any kind.”2 points

From watching the 5th estate documentary, I was convinced Sainte-Marie had either mental health problems, or a personality disorder. The fact that she abandoned her family for good, claimed she was an Aboriginal from a different country, and threatening her brother legally into silence, with false child molestation accusations, was horrid. What is especially disheartening, is she made no effort to be honest when presented with the Order of Canada, and numerous Indigenous Lifetime Awards, when she was clearly ineligible for either, as a Caucasian American woman.2 points

That's your entire position on the invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine was (rightly) afraid of their aggressive Russian neighbor. They sought purely defensive aid and alliance--which you say constitutes provocation of Russia and justifies the invasion.2 points

Both USAID And The CIA Were Behind The Impeachment Of Trump in 2019 TLDR: USAID funded a fake news org, planted journalists and approved stories. A CIA analyst, loyal to Obama gave them a story to run then cited it in a whistleblower complaint to setup the first Trump impeachment. Why? Trump was looking at the money trail to Ukraine and trying to figure out what exactly was going on. USAID, swampy Dems and swampy Reps couldn't have that. So they launched a counter attack designed to stop Trump from looking into the money because he'd be too busy defending himself. And it never stopped.1 point

$19 million worth of methamphetamine seized from shipment of cucumber, jalapeños Now that there are no mass migrations to distract the BP, the cartels are resorting to old tricks in hopes of keeping their revenue stream. This is what was getting through, thanks to Biden's handlers.1 point

Just one ittty bitty little problem. She didn't actually say she was there during the Cold War. As usual you backpedal and lie when your nonsense is proven wrong and then declare victory even as your diaper overflows. You claimed all ATCs were hired by Biden. That's not the case. That's it, that's the argument. You lose. You always lose because you're a loser.1 point

They don't have a counter argument. As usual this is all they have. @Radiorum went into a tailspin and meltdown and accused me of saying things that never were said repetitively when questioned on his belief that physical sexual organs are a result of brain activity, and @Matthew just got done having an utter meltdown when challenged on what he means when he says something is or is not "legitimate". And absolutely exploded when challenged to explain his position. These are not people who think for themselves. They listen to the talking points of their echo chambers and then freak out if you challenge that. Then it's all lies and ad hominems Sounds like @Barquentine has a little bit of the same problem. He literally chastised you for insults and then insulted you in the next sentence. 😂 I mean it's like they can't even hear what they sound like1 point

Thats what history classes are for, Justin has said sorry to every group on the planet, it is time to treat every the same, thats how we stop racism. You can't change the past...only the future. Technically, it was put in writing, in the sense that it was recorded in writing: https://nsarchive.gwu.edu/briefing-book/russia-programs/2017-12-12/nato-expansion-what-gorbachev-heard-western-leaders-early What people really mean when they say it wasn't put into writing was that it wasn't put into a written agreement. I see that Black Dog also pointed out that the deal was made with the Soviet Union, not with Russia in post #212. But we all know that Russia was the heart of the Soviet Union, and they also retained all the Soviet Union's nukes. I think a good analogy is if Alaska became independent and Russia said any deals with the U.S. were now moot because the U.S. just wasn't the same. You could do it, but I think in both cases, it's basically like punching a bear when it's wounded. I think we can can agree it's not the best idea. More importantly, the U.S. wouldn't take a break of any previous agreements lying down, whether formal or not. Why would anyone expect Russia to? This whole debacle in Ukraine is one that was predicted a decade ago. I got into this with DUI back in post #102. Quoting: ** It is not as if no one knew about the dangers. From Henry Kissinger to Zbigniew Brzezinski to George Kennan, experienced American statesmen have warned that even talking about Westernizing Ukraine through NATO might be fatal to peace. As John Mearsheimer cautioned us in September 2015, “the West is leading Ukraine down the primrose path, and the end result is that Ukraine is going to get wrecked.” Mearsheimer’s prescient speech has received 21 million views on YouTube, almost half in the last few weeks, with Washington insiders and media poohbahs excoriating him as a Putin apologist, even as a petition campaign was launched to get Mearsheimer fired from the University of Chicago. We would have better off heeding his warning. Compounding the damage, Washington’s loud championing of the Ukrainian cause has recently been accompanied by contrary signs of weakness and appeasement, from the humiliating botch of the NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan last summer to President Biden’s hint that a “minor incursion” into Ukraine might not occasion a decisive response. Like Chamberlain veering between irrational extremes in 1938-1939, the West’s Ukraine policy has blatantly provoked Russian anxieties and offered Ukrainians the false promise of an American security umbrella, while doing nowhere near enough to actually deter Russia. Ukraine may not suffer as badly as Poland did from 1939 to 1945, but much of the country has already gotten wrecked. ** Source: https://americanmind.org/salvo/the-primrose-path-to-catastrophe/ ** West commended my post in his post #104. As to DUI, I'm still not sure if he ever read it. I suspect he likes short posts better.1 point

There’s a natural anxiety among parents about their children’s sexuality, how they will identify in terms of gender and whether this could be influenced in any way. On the other hand, many gay and transgender people point out they wouldn’t have chosen their lifestyle if they could have helped it given the stress and outright danger it brought. It’s a curious business because the left is often more associated with ‘nurture’ over ‘nature’ arguments but in this case conservatives seem to believe that exposing their children to such issues too soon, whatever that is in the smartphone era, may affect their ultimate sexual identity. I doubt that argument. The many accounts of gay and transgender people suggests to me that these orientations begin to solidify early in life, before puberty, and are fairly hard-wired.1 point

It strikes at the heart of what they believe. They are programmed to believe that Conservatives are bad people. But they are now living in denial that the narratives and the bullshit is all state sponsored propaganda. I'm just the messenger 🤷. I was there once and had to deprogram from leftist wokeism as well. How so? It's now fact that alot of these organizations who've been attacking people are getting lucrative government contracts. One doesn't need to be a mathematician to put 2 + 2 together1 point

1. Because people find them weird and creepy and are offended by their existence. So they, thinking that their feelings are a kind of freedom, seek out ways to contain the very idea of transgender people. 2. We are a nation of babies. Most people have no idea about our geopolitical situation and the political economy as well. When things go bad they throw the bums out but what happens when all the parties are bad ?1 point
