  2. lol you mean the Operation Paperclip crew were ackshually Nazis? Wow I didn't know that you're telling me now for the first time. J/K, everyone knows that. I've heard of the "no true Scotsman" fallacy but this is the first time I've heard of the "no true Nazi" version. He was insane though. Or very, very stupid. Probably both. And out of his head on drugs, can't forget the drugs. Not every bad guy in history was a deranged psychopath, but Hitler certainly fit the bill. I don't think anyone should feel bad about thinking the worst of nazis, actually.

  4. LOL this is complete horseshit of course. The hold up is Danielle Smith's merry band of dipshits who have decreed only single family housing will be allowed, which means far fewer units than otherwise possible, which further exacerbates the existing housing shortage in Jasper and increases housing costs across the board. The municipality wants multifamily housing, which the UCP opposes for purely idealogical reasons. "People want to to come and see the pristine wilderness around Jasper so we need to destroy more of that wilderness to accommodate them!" You people just aren't happy unless you're chopping down trees or poisoning rivers, aren't you?

  9. I think the question is not β€œDid Musk make the Nazi salute?” but instead β€œDoes Musk think he can get away with making the Nazi salute?” The answer would be yes. The Nazi ideology is just that – an ideology (although a vile and odious one) – and Trump and Musk are not persons who adhere to an ideology. They have both demonstrated their pragmatic nature – willing to sway in the political winds. If Musk made a Nazi salute, it would not be for ideological reasons, but to shout, β€œnothing can constrain me.” Heck, the EU tried to impose its own laws on Musk and Vance stepped in and ordered the EU to leave Musk alone or β€œwe’re going to pull out of NATO.” These are men who are extremely puffed up with their own power. Here we have the most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world (although in reality Putin is probably richer) – who are driven by one instinct – to gain more power for themselves. And flaunt it. If Musk made the Nazi salute, it would be to say, β€œI can do anything. Look what I can get away with.” Not because he adhered to the Nazi ideology (his support for the far-right AfD notwithstanding), although he understood that the salute would appeal to some diehard Trump supporters. And now they have a Secretary of Defense who is willing to get his hands dirty. And the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers who have already demonstrated that they are willing to resort to violence to show their loyalty to the Dear Leader. And a tech industry willing to kiss Trump’s ring. All without a shred of ethics amongst them. These are troubling times. The issue is not a gesture Musk made, but the concentration of power in the hands of those who only have their own interests at heart.

  17. Once again, you are just plain celebrating a nakedly partisan disregard for law and order. These people weren't arrested, tried and convicted for their beliefs. For example, there is a law that prohibits people from blocking or harassing people seeking health care or entering places of worship. The woman you mention literally assaulted clinic staff while flagrantly harassing and blocking access to the clinic. She's a criminal--and a vile person to boot. Just because you don't believe in dentistry doesn't mean you have a license to block and harrass other people to prevent them from accessing a dentist. Just because you don't believe in Judaism doesn't mean you have license to block people from entering a synagogue. We simply cannot allow such behavior in a functional society. She does NOT deserve a pardon. She deserves to serve her time and serve as an example to others.

Everyone he gave blanket pardons too are now incapable of exercising their 5th amendment rights. The 5th amendment rights can only be exercised IF you can be convicted of a crime. Since they can't be prosecuted, they must testify. If they lie or omit and that can be proven, they can be prosecuted. Let's get them to DC and get the whole story. Now.

  22. ROFLMAO! Putin has always been willing to negotiate peace. Trump has promised the world that he will deliver peace. I understand Zelinsky has now come out and said he needs US troops on the front line. LOL...anyone wanna bet a bottle o' scotch Zeleinsky ain'-a-gonna get US troops on the front lines? He might wanna now consider tucking his tail between his legs and slipping out the back door. It appears the US gravy train has come to its final destination and it doesn't look good for him. Oh well.

  23. In the clip we have now, the cop stood back, aimed and shot. He was not being mobbed. Babbit hadn't even gotten through the window yet. He had time and he had distance between him and Babbit. IMO, Byrd acted irrationally and hasty. Somewhat like he was panicking. The whole incident was avoidable had Byrd just acted calmly and rationally. But he did not.

  28. A. That's an obvious falsehood. Biden's COVID relief spending was nearly as much as Trump's. B. The numbers are wrong. Fox business Trump administration (1/20/17–1/20/21) Net borrowing: $8.4 trillion Net borrowing excluding COVID measures: $4.8 trillion Partisan borrowing: $1.9 trillion Bipartisan borrowing: $6.5 trillion Biden administration (1/20/21–6/21/24) Net borrowing: $4.3 trillion Borrowing excluding American Rescue Plan: $2.2 trillion Partisan borrowing: $3 trillion Bipartisan borrowing: $1.3 trillion ^^the caveat is that this runs through June, but I don't believe Biden signed any major spending in the last few months.

  29. Debt to gdp 122. Yikes. And that's just federal. Trump really needs to address that. Obviously he's not going to fix it entirely in one term but he's got to get the US solidly on the right track one way or another. That is just way the hell too high.

  34. Someone stupid enough to blame the govt for a forest fire is stupid enough to tell me that when my house burned down I could only rebuild somewhere else. Could've faced like my Dad's cabin. They made the area into a park, he kept it under a grandfathering clause. It burnt down in the 1970s and that was it. It is a blank patch in the trees now. Banff & Jasper are in the same situation. A nice drawn out lobbying process with very limited chance of expansion. Mr don't even know what a National Park is, but got an ill informed opinion on everything.

  37. It doesn't require new land just new density zoning. I don't know about Alberta but this is how it works in BC and why. Density zoning in British Columbia The Province of British Columbia has introduced legislation that increases density zoning. The legislation requires local governments to update zoning bylaws to permit more housing options. This includes allowing secondary suites, laneway homes, triplexes, and townhomes.

  38. None of those MPs deserve to keep their seats. I highly respect Mark Carney and under normal circumstances I'd probably consider voting for him, but not while the chucklef*cks that enabled Trudeau and clucked and nodded at every dumb thing he said/did for 10 years are still pretending they have something of value to offer the country. I think it was a really poor decision for him to run for the Leadership. The only reason I can think of is that he wants to be there for the 2029 election.

  40. Thats not the details....If the temperature was to increase by 3 degrees, the global costs would be 1.9 and 3.1 % of global GDP... Perhaps i'm reading it wrong. Not to mention Carney has said price on carbon is not enough, if we are to reach our goals, he has also said he would also cancel the carbon price, that's what the people want but he is going to replace it with something else that would meet our goals... It should also be noted this is the path we are on now, look at the net cost 15 -37 trillion per year, or 15-37 % of global GDP.....not 1.9 or 3.1 % as Michael suggested, which is the price would we pay as the result of not doing anything for climate change....just mitigating the effects....... As for What Canada is spending, sends a couple red flags up, 1) it is not much of a crises...2) since we have not met any of our goals we have set for ourselves again reinforces that idea that this is not a Crises, but rather a distraction for all the rest of the globes problems...And canada needs a lot of distractions...3) it also signals that our current policies on climate change are weak, 4) Canadians don't really care a whole lot about climate change. 5) what do you think the average Canadian is going to say if it costs 10,000 dollars per year just on fighting climate change....

  43. No the original Transmountain ships light crude and refined product in batches. Light crude for the Parkland refinery in Burnaby and the refineries in Ferndale and Anacortes Washington, as well as refined product for BC because we can now only refine less than 50% of what we need, since our oil companies decided to shut down three refineries and move production to Edmonton. The TMX expansion that cost over 30B is exclusively for the export of Alberta heavy oil. But keep it up, I'm sure your posts are music to Trump's ears.

  44. Just as the German Jews were Hitler's own people, the Ukrainian Slavs are Zelensky's people. Just as Hitler persecuted and killed his people, Zelensky kills and persecutes his own people. "The only difference is that Hitler was a German who killed Jews, and Zelensky is a Jew who is killing Slavs. I'm trying to imagine what would happen if Putin or some Christian leader banned and persecuted Jews like Zelensky is doing in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Christian Orthodox Church and its believers". Of course, you, as a supporter of the Nazis and cheerleader of the dictator Zelensky, are promoting a new genocide against the Slavic people in Europe.
