  3. Hamas launched their major offensive against several Israeli villages, nearly all civilians, including a rave party attended by hundreds of people in their 20s. Hamas brutally slaughtered ever single person they came across. Entire families, women, children, etc. In all, over 1,200 people died, the most Jewish victims since the Holocaust. For the past year, Israel has fought back. Israel gave up all claims to Gaza in 2005, and this event proved that the Palestinians cannot be trusted.

  5. You're blathering like Trump now. Try rereading your posts to see if they make sense. I realize it's hard to criticize someone for withstanding the scrutiny of a real interview when your candidate chickened out like a weak b!tch.

  6. A well-put description of the Trump’s incessant lies, most recently about Hurricane Helene. It’s not just the undisciplined ramblings a narcissist, it’s about destroying objective reality itself : Donald Trump has been one of the chief sources of the disinformation that has badly hampered recovery efforts. Trump has claimed that the federal government is ignoring the storm’s victims, especially ones in Republican areas, and that the government is handing out only $750 in aid (in fact, the initial emergency payment for food and groceries is $750, but there are multiple grants available for home rebuilding up to a total of $42,500, the upper limit set by Congress). He has also claimed—falsely—that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is out of money to help because the administration spent all its money on Ukraine and undocumented immigrants. Trump’s lies are not errors. They are part of a well-documented strategy to overturn democracy by using modern media to create a false political world. Voters begin to base their political decisions on that fake image, rather than on reality, and are manipulated into giving up control of their government to an authoritarian. … “The Democrats don’t matter,” Bannon told a reporter in 2018. “The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with sh*t.” Keeping listeners constantly trying to defend what is real from what is not destroys their ability to make sense of the world. Many people turn to a strongman who promises to create order. Others will get so exhausted they simply give up. As scholar of totalitarianism Hannah Arendt noted, authoritarians use this technique to destabilize a population. … In his autobiography Mein Kampf, or “My Struggle,” Adolf Hitler wrote that people were more likely to believe a giant lie than a little one because they were willing to tell small lies in their own lives but “would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.” Since they could not conceive of telling “colossal untruths…they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.” He went on: “Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.” … Now, though, their lies about the federal response to Hurricane Helene show that they are completely committed to disinformation. As Will Bunch noted today in the Philadelphia Inquirer, when Vance lied again at the vice presidential debate about the legal status of the Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, and complained when moderator Margaret Brennan corrected him, he gave up the whole game. “Margaret,” Vance said, “the rules were that you guys weren’t going to fact-check.” He continued to argue until the moderators cut his microphone. Bunch points out that MAGA Republicans insist on the right to lie, considering any fact-checking “censorship,” a position to which Vance pivoted when Minnesota governor Tim Walz asked him if Trump won the 2020 election. Just as Russian political theorists advocated to overturn democracy, MAGA Republicans have created an alternative political reality, aided in large part by the disinformation spread on social media by X owner and Trump supporter Elon Musk. … https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/october-6-2024

  7. cam't go blaming "western allies" NATO allies have been pouring aid into the area, attempted peace keeping missions and tried to push them into political solutions since the 1970s. Blame the Arab hard core for it's stubborn refusal to accept no solution but endless violence and terrorism.

  10. No he wasn't. The crime wasn't the same at all. Cohen was sentanced for criminal tax evasion. Trump has not been accused of tax evasion. Cohen was also sentanced for criminal campaign contributions. Trump was not accused of that at all. The charges are NOTHING REMOTELY like one another. Trump was charged with the misdemeanor of putting a payment under legal expenses when the court thinks it should have gone somewhere else. But he paid all his taxes and it wasn't a contribution. Its' not even a misdemeanor anywhere else in the country so it's not surprising nobody has ever been charged as trump was. The misdemeanor ONLY becomes a felony if it was done to hide another felony crime. And they did NOT HAVE TO PROVE that ANY such crime happened at all, and the jury didn't even have to agree on WHICH crime it might have been. This is a first in history. Sorry the op news story is just propaganda.

  13. I was fortunate to grow up in very multicultural areas, in fact more then once in primary my class was majority visible minorities, there were of course more white people than any other "ethnicity" but I don't think we represented 50% of the students. I've also lived and worked in smaller communities. 20 years I lived in Montreal (I just recently left) and even though I speak French very well, I still have an accent that immediately identifies me as an English speaker. So sometimes the first conversation I have with a local they immediately don't trust me, it doesn't take long for them to realize that, after all not all anglophones are evil and I'm originally from Toronto so I work directly for the devil, but that's what they've been taught from birth and there have been times I'm literally the first english person they've ever conversed with, they don't know any better. I think this is the same ignorance that leads to xenophobia (racism to call a spade a spade) and all the other isms. but I also sincerely believe that most people are good and given the opportunity to interact with people outside of the "us" they've been patterned to think the "they" are coming to get them, could and do often accept good people no matter their origins. Once you had a beer with a Muslim you realize pretty quick people are people So to me empathy is often my first instinct.

  17. Exactly. And days gone by people held different political views and respected other people's right to do so and still thought well of the other person even if they disagreed Nowadays the left specifically teaches its adherence that it's not enough to disagree, you must hate the person for being evil and do all you can to harm them. This might include cutting them out of your life or attacking their work or attempting to harm them socially, whatever it takes to hurt them you do it. Because they disagree. And this is largely the tactic Hitler used. He taught people that everyone else who didn't agree with them or didn't have the same race as them was out to get them and it was perfectly acceptable to harm them if they can.

It's weird to have such a 'deep understanding' of the lives of people in a book from 160 years ago but not see the parallels all around you.

  24. It's pretty straightforward: you claimed Trump doesn't use the terms marxist or Communist to describe his opponents. He does. A lot. You're wrong, as always. Well it all started with you claiming Abe Lincoln owned slaves lmao. The only person here trying to reshape the world to adhere to his own narratives is you. It's a form of denial that you should seek professional help for along with the host of other obvious mental conditions you suffer from.

  25. It does take some work to get past what we know about Stalin, Lenin, Mao, etc and evaluate Marx based purely on the context of his time. Marx was more of a philosopher and storyteller than anything. His work (while deeply flawed) has been misconstrued to the point where few actually know what Marx was trying to say. If you strip away the atrocities done in his name later on, you find that his theories were more about evolution than politics or government.

  30. Neither were the mikmaw women and children. And why do you believe the English are just entitled to forcibly invade mikmaw territory but mikmaw aren’t entitled to resist? You don’t know what you’re talking about. The mikmaw were trading partners and allies with the French who were in the area before the English. The mikmaw were not mercenary killers for hire. The British invaded mikmaw territories, were at war with the French and attempting to disrupt and destroy the French fur trade which the mikmaw had become dependent upon. You need some perspective. Britain forcibly invaded mikmaw territory, and violated existing treaties not the other way around. And the total number of British killed by mikmaw over the years including soldiers was fairly low, in the dozens not the hundreds The only thing I have low expectations for is your right wing bigotry and chauvinism. Education and healthcare as well as annual payments are specifically mentioned in many if not most treaties. The Indian Act of 1876 made indigenous peoples wards of the state. This gave the federal government broad control over many aspects of Indigenous life, including governance, land use, education, and financial management. Under the Indian Act, the government assumed the role of a guardian, deciding on matters related to Indigenous peoples as though they were incapable of making their own decisions. The double edged sword is that when the Canadian government made itself legal guardians of indigenous people it also assumed the fiduciary duty to provide for them. It’s not just the treaties its also the Indian Act and the Constitution and decades of legal decisions that are involved here. You say that based on what exactly? The LAW decides who it belongs to and the law is not on your side You right wingers think you can just force your will and whims on people regardless of the laws and other people but that’s not how democracies work. Deal with it. Oh a constitutional amendment is that all? Why it’s just like snapping your fingers! LMAO Also note another example of conservatives being the only people who would use constitutional amendments and the Supreme Court to REMOVE rights rather than expand them. Doood!!! U shud be a loyer! LMAO Seriously your spiteful authoritarian daydreams are completely unrealistic Your magical amendment is not only going after the FN it’s going after the SCOC too? I think it’s a reaction by people who have spent too much time watching sports and wrestling and reality tv and living on the internet and don’t understand anything about the world outside of their tiny little lives amd don’t accept any perspectives other than their own. Having a club of super-elite political insiders from the ruling party who can basically unilaterally nullify the law and constitution at whim and rule by decree without checks and balances….that is a great way to end democracy and impose a fascist state.

  32. You know what's sad ? I agree with almost everything you just said. The problem is and always has been with you, is you have too add in crap like I'm "peddling Marxism , instead of just having a conversation where we could exchange ideas even disagree strongly with eachother but at the same time possibly grow in our understanding of certain issues so if you do want to have a conversation, how about not calling me offensive things like pervert or Démocrate
    1 point
  33. So you agree with everything I said but you have a bunch of excuses. But, let’s get one thing really straight here: Trump got convicted of 34 felonies because he broke the law. He wanted to cover up these payments and he did it to help his election and to avoid taxes. He deliberately categorized payments to a porn star as legal expenses. You want to make excuses but the truth is that he did commit those 34 felonies. Plain and simple.

  34. Yes. Everything Marx wrote was based on the underpinning that labor was the most important factor and inherently those who own the factories/businesses are inherently exploiting labor. My view is that you choose to work and therefore know what comes with it. If you do not want to be labor (the human that transforms raw inputs into finished outputs) then be self employed. Thousands do it every day. Again, I come at this from the economics standpoint being that I have 2 degrees in it and have read the book for an economics course.
    1 point
  35. And your point is what here? is it enough or could this funding help our current healthcare system.
    1 point
  36. not quite. there are three primary factors of production; land, labor, and capital. Capital in this case is not money. it is technology, machines, process. The intermediary between labor and the end product. Marx, focused solely on Western Europe (UK, France, Netherlands, and Germany). His theory was that labor was the primary and most important factor of production. They would be worked to the point where they no longer sustain themselves. Keep in mind.. most of what Marx wrote was prediction. From there, they (the proletariat) would inevitably rise up against the factory owners. this would happen over and over and over again and eventually we would settle on communal ownership of the factors of production.

  37. Do you think he's actually talking about members of the Communist party here, you retarded mutt? this is the shittiest analogy possible. Gays are a specific group. When Trump is talking about communists and Marxists is not talking about people who are actually communists or Marxists. Hence why it's a pejorative. Like, you can't lecture me on english when you don't understand context clues or syntax. Or spelling. no, dummy. He's used it multiple times specifically to describe Harris and generally to describe anyone who isn't MAGA. Christ you're an ignoramus. Except in Trump's case, fascist is an accurate descriptor, not an insult. look at you 'sperging out with the emojis You not hearing him saying it is irrelevant to the fact he uses those terms all the time. Not our fault you ignorant of the world around you. I came up with multiple examples, actually, and I barely scraped the surface. You're spazzing out because you said never heard him uses those terms (implying that he doesn't use them) but it turns out he does all the time. But rather than accepting that fact with the tiniest bit of grace, you choose to humiliate yourself. Again.

  38. I read Das Kapital from cover to cover in undergrad. So when I criticize it.. I actually know what I am talking about much like yourself. Interesting how universities are so liberal and yet my professor (female and liberal) tore Marx's theories to pieces. She thought that he was a waste of our time but knew that everybody would demand that we study him.

  39. you would be the worst poker player in the history of the game.. You just admitted to wanting the last word. Not everything justifies a response and if you were an adult, you would know that. I dealt with someone like you last weekend at a town hall meeting. The meeting was to approve (or not) keeping a certain tax rate the same. When it came time for public comment.. this guy started spouting your type of rhetoric. We listened and said nothing. Why? Because it was not even close to being relevant to the topic. He finished and we moved on. Effectively ignoring him. To engage in an off topic discussion would be a waste of time and money. I know that you can't grasp that.

  42. What's funny is I actually read the communist manifesto before coming to the conclusion that I thought Marxism was a ridiculous economic system. I'd bet money that you've never actually read anything on Marxism and simply regurgitate things you've heard from the likes of Tucker Carlson. So all you can do is rant like an unhinged lunatic , making assertions you not only can't support but go against everything I've ever posted here. Because you got nothing else Sad little pervert

  43. Interesting is it not that the most outspoken on here (and other forums) are always telling other posters how mad, upset, bothered, etc. they are. Most likely a form of projection. They are the ones who are bitter, angry, pi$$ed off, etc. but to admit that would implicitly show weakness. They try to say that they are stoic, unphased and oblivious to your commentary when in fact.. it really bothers them.
