People have already made that personal decision (abortion/doing drugs), I do not agree with them at all, but acting to make it safe is the only proper thing to do.

What COVID vaccine does is prevent people from dying and spreading disease. I'm pretty sure the experts have determined that without vaccine and other measures that levels of sickness and death would be much much higher.
