You need to divorce the idea of what is happening from the idea of left vs. right. If you follow the Covid conspiracy theory you will see that the fringe right and left are joining forces... Left+Right = ... light ? rift ? I dunno but there is a surfeit of stupidity. I now realize that conservatism calls back to traditions and institutions of the past, including mapping a way forward through politics and so I identify as conservative while maniacs of all stripes try to dress up in the clothes of grown-up members of a 'public'. If you care about the future, drop your political allegiance and work towards putting sandbags up around democracy.

I'm eager to witness Trump's post POTUS life. Short of the legal exposure he faces, his "Brand" is worth mud right now. No banks will do business with him, he has no ability to market, his properties are worthless as long as he is the head of them. He owes hundreds of millions of dollars and his only revenue stream now is grifting his downtrodden base.

And democracy does not close down social networking sites like Parler. It does not persecute conservatives on social networking sites for saying things like "voter fraud" or "stop the steal". Lets say that those phrases are incorrect. They are not dangerous. No they are not, give your head a shake. Think about it. Think harder, Hardner. They are just simple opinions that are wrong. I am not talking about Trump here, but about millions of Americans who are not allowed to utter these phrases on youtube and other sites. Freedom of speech. I do think that much of the culture war is a reaction to the corporate-liberal persona that these messages are designed for. If you're not in that middle demographic then it's revolting.
