Canada's status as a NATO deadbeat has nothing to do with Trump's criticism...it has been an issue for decades now and Obama said the same things to Parliament when he was president. The NATO benchmark (agreed to by members long before Trump) was 2% of GDP. Canada is no longer a middle power, as it cannot project military force without the aid of allied resources and backup. The U.S. should not continue to go broke spending for the defence of other nations who refuse to do so for themselves. American blood and treasure is not without limits. NATO was invented to keep the Americans in...Soviets/Russians out...and Germans down.2 points

Because it would be Ìslamophobic doncha know Acording to Senator Linda Frum Reliable sources tell me they’ve known since May. Were hoping no one else would notice?! Shame on the Liberal Party for tolerating AntiSemitism in the hope of winning votes. Really despicable.1 point

Harper had a great opportunity to make Canada great again and he screwed that all up. Instead of going conservative wild, he played mild mannered Harper. Harper did not do a bloody thing to try and change anything that old man Trudeau started and signed that has pretty much changed this country from a British/European nation to the rest of the world nation. Conservatives like Scheer fear the leftist liberal bought off Canadian media and that alone Scheer should be talking about. Scheer will probably even avoid talking about Trudeau and his ethics scandal. The media keep going after Scheer and keep asking him questions about immigration and racism and he has to constantly keep trying to make it appear that he is not anti-immigrant or racist. He has to always keep defending himself instead of telling the bought off media to go take a hike. The liberal media will never like conservatism even if it is a liberal progressive looking conservative party. The media party know that they have Scheer by the marbles because he is just to dam afraid of them. Bernier is not afraid of the useless Canadian media and they leave him alone. Bernier is the Trump of Canada. And it is either Canadians will want a real and true conservative as the next PM of Canada or a globalist comrade like Trudeau as the next and again Canada's next PM. In Canada, it's always about Quebec and that will never change.1 point

That's fine....it is not America's role to decide how Canada wants to do things....just don't bitch so much when an American president like Trump or Obama or Bush react to such decisions and actions. Being an ally does not mean always agreeing on policy or trade. If Canada wasn't so damn dependent on the U.S. economy and military, then it would be in a stronger position, "seat at the adult table", yada, yada, yada. These issues are not new because of Trump. Trump is a U.S. president...and he is not responsible for Canada. Canada may benefit from actions and decisions made in U.S. interests, but certainly not required.1 point

Sure thing. Soon as we get rid of public health care, public pensions which aren't fully self-funded, and welfare. People want all that, they need to put up with businesses that pay heavy taxes and provide good jobs.1 point

Although I do not like Doug Ford for several reasons, there is nothing to deny in this. Ford did what he said, more or less, to repeal the curriculum and re-introduce it after consultation with concerned parents. https://globalnews.ca/news/5789997/ford-government-new-sex-ed/ New and improved curriculum, sounds alright. Here's more- I don't see any backsliding in this, to me it looks like normal democratic process.1 point

How hard is it to condemn Christchurch for a Right winger compared to Ilhan Omar condemning Muslim terrorism? Have you seen right wingers, officials in the US even, say that Chrischurch 'just happened you know, someone did something'?1 point

House prices aren't going to get more affordable in Vancouver, government subsidized housing isn't going to fix it, and neither is taxing foreign home buyers.1 point

WOW for I guy who said I did not read his post , perhaps we should both read a little more carefully. No we are not going to force anyone to have unprotected sex, what we are going to do is entice them to do just that with incentives, much like we do now with family allowances ..only on steroids, currently we spend roughly 30 bil a year on immigration, that pays for a lot of incentives....making having children much more affordable....and returning money back into Canadian pockets....and with the added benefit of increasing our population with a home grown solution, decreasing our need for immigration and all the costs that it brings with it. Like I said in my post above, while answering your post below, The media and government have already released statements that one of the largest contributors to raising prices in houses is the criminal elements using the purchasing and sale of real estate to laundry money...which is not the type of growth we need...See "NO" mention of immigration at all....1 point

It certainly doesn't work, for Republicans conservatives. However virtue signallers fail to understand that when they put themselves up on that pedestal, they set the same high standard for themselves. Inconsistency. Double standard. That is their downfall, more than the actual "sin" itself.1 point

I don't think it really does work any more, I certainly don't care who she sleeps with. But when you present to the world as having a superior moral guidance system from a religion, you should expect to be called out on your hypocrisy.1 point

It's like Yzermandias, he's Eyetalian, he's arguably more British than me, I'm Anglo-Saxon, we're the Germans.1 point

The Europeans you are wanting, are not British, the British don't even want them, the Europeans are mostly bolshies, hence why Brexit. Hong Kong is the most British place on earth, look at them bravely fighting the Communists to protect their Britishness. Look at the Canadians selling themselves down the river to that regime in Beijing. More British than the British in Hong Kong, more commie than the Commies in Canada now.1 point
-
Bear in mind, I am a British chauvinist, I am not saying those who do not follow our British ways should be invited in, but those who are British, they are my people. South Asians and Hong Kong Chinese are my British kin. Not everybody is British, but they are more British than Americanized Canadians now, Canadians are mostly de facto republicans, most of them Bolshies.1 point

That's not what the British people did, the British people set out to conquer the world, in the tradition of their Roman ancestors, to make the world Britannia. At the zenith, 25% of the world was British, but they didn't insist on that, we did. They didn't make themselves British, we made them British. Not the Mexicans, but certainly the South Asians and Hong Kong Chinese we did.1 point
-
I would agree that loading up on a bunch of Mexicans is not very British, but loading up on South Asians? The essence of British, in 1867, half the British Army were Indian Sepoys, Canada was a frozen backwater, the Jewel of the Crown was in India. The South Asians and Hong Kong Chinese are more British than the British, Canadians are Americans, the English are mostly Bolshies now.1 point

The Sikhs and Asians are just as British as Canadians, Canada and India in fact joined the British Empire on the same day, 10 February 1763. British is not a race, and even if you insist that it is, Britain was founded by Italians in AD 43, Paisano. If Britannia be a person, she is Roman. All who she conquered, she made Roman, that's what the Empire was all about, Roma Britannia rules the waves. SPQR1 point

If I had my way all the HRC outfits would be gone from every province in Canada. As long as those communist outfits are allowed to exist freedom of expression will always be attacked by these SJW's and in real danger. The only reason why provinces keep them around is because they can use them to throttle their opponents or anyone who dares to criticize or challenge their political correctness laws without having to taking them to a real court of law where they may lose their case. Why there are two court systems running alongside each other is beyond me. The one that needs to go here is the HRC. These frivolous HRC court cases like the one mentioned above are so bloody ridiculous, and they are costing the taxpayer's of Canada hundreds of millions, if not billions, of their tax dollars every year to keep these HRC commie outfits up and running. They all need to be abolished now. Save taxpayer's their tax dollars and their freedom of expression. Why not? Works well for me.1 point

Flooding the country with immigrants is all part of controlling the population which is already here. There is no real economic growth, it's all a central bank incited debt financed bubble. The name of the game is deflationary pressure to keep the debt bubble from popping. To include suppressing prices by suppressing wages, by making work scarce. Work is bullshit, jobs are jails, mass immigration is a lever of control.1 point

1. Spot on. 2. Strain on services is coming from poor government support for growth, which is coming from immigration. The 'blame' should go to them. 3. Growth... it's not understood.1 point

1.2. A substantive pair of retorts. 3. Yes, you have succinctly stated why we can't have discussions on immigration. I will say that Bernier's criticism of the state of affairs is spot-on. But then again, he does an absolutely shitty job of weeding racists out of his team so he is - DISQUALIFIED. 4. The thing is: a Frasier Report and a Postmedia article (and a shitty CBC 'fact check' done by a journalist with a BA in poly-sci (!)) will get repeated in the public sphere more than ACTUAL papers will. " The impact of immigrants on Canada's treasury, circa 1990" for example has been cited 43 times. I found fewer citations to the Fraser Institute study. The former study found: " Across the country this means that immigrant households contributed $2.6 billion more than their share to the public purse" Again, the original article seems to ignore economic effects outside of the immigrant's personal contributions/benefits - even if those are correct, which you and others content they're not. --------------- Lots of people feel that immigration policy needs to be looked at and I agree, if only because lots of people feel that way. The huge amount of disinformation makes it seem that Canadians are much further apart than they are. As evidenced by the similarities in the approaches of Liberals and conservatives we are not far apart.1 point

Here's an environmentalist propaganda masquerading as a research study! https://getpocket.com/explore/item/why-it-was-easier-to-be-skinny-in-the-1980s?utm_source=pocket-newtab Ate more MEAT! Pesticides! Food packaging! Lol - those are the "red flags" that give away a so-called "study!" BS! Hello? Did they forget the most likely biggest culprit of all? Hi tech? Is that so-called study done by environmentalist grade-schoolers? As an example, working as an office clerk in the 80's involves some physical movement (even just to walk to, and rummage through the file drawers)! These days, a DESK JOB means just that! You're stuck sitting by your desk.....and letting your fingers do the walking on the keyboard! In the 80's, you physically move around handing out memos! Now, everyone gets it by email! What about shopping? Physical movement is a big plus, that it almost justifies the spending! What's the mindset now? If it can't be done online, I don't wanna hear it! What about the difference between lawn-cutting, now and then? https://www.powerproequipment.com/evolution-lawn-mowers-throughout-history Lol, even brains are more likely different now. All these apps doing the thinking for you - reminding you even with the simplest task of doing your grocery lists!! Your brains need not do some hard labor of thinking anymore! Unless they find a cure for it, I predict in the near future, dementia wouldn't be just the thing for the elderly!0 points
