Jews are a race according to many jews, so you propose racee based segregation in a jewish state. Jews are a race so it is segregation. Yeah because Canada which has a long history of being discriminatory and racist towards african canadians and original people is somehow better than the muslims and christians in europe who were tolerant of jews. Israeli jews don't even go to school with israeli arabs and they largely speak different languages anyhow. This is why Israel is called an apartheid state. So you jews have the right to go to your orthodox jew schools and muslims get sharia schools but you want to deny that to other races/religions, hypocrit! Explain Israeli apartheid and segregation. Israel separates from the muslims, separation by race according to you is segregation, jews are self segregating from muslims. You need a history book, UN has recently spoken about the need for reparations to original north americans for racial terrorism against original people in north america. Canada has a long history of afro-phobia and anti-original hatred and terrorism. You can't say one race should have a country but it is wrong for another race to have a school.2 points

The irony is if the axis had one and without the American war machine it would have been likely or had Germany or Japan created the bombs first we would not have the right to have this discussion. We all know about the "one hit wonders". But then, we also know about the stars who somehow re-invent themselves. And then, there are the few stars who somehow seem to learn from their mistakes: "no more philosopher king", for example. The federal Liberal apparatchiks certainly see Justin Trudeau as a rock star: better on the road than in the studio. Can he survive? Re-invent himself? Or, does he have something original to say?1 point

My mundane public school education failed utterly at turning out Warriors for Jesus. The Saudis have done much, much better at turning out Warriors for Allah. I hate to tell you this, but even the girls at the Catholic schools were naughty sometimes. And nobody stoned them to death.1 point

I don't see the issue with the school. The school is teaching the law. Any prejudice they feel towards gays is innate and a part of their own religious beliefs. That prejudice would exist regardless of which law school they went to. No, I wouldn't have a problem, unless the reason I was going to them was somehow related to to some part of their sexuality or religious beliefs. To the extent the constitution says that religious freedom allows. And it has already spoken on this issue in a nearly identical situation involving teachers and accreditation for the Trinity Western. Would you not prefer to know ahead of time that your lawyer was an uber-feminist say who 'hated representing men' (a quote from a recent Christie Blatchford column on the incomparable incompetence of our family court system), rather than going to them and being misrepresented by an unenthusiastic person whose own personal beliefs made them not like you or your case? I mean, if you were a gay guy would you choose a conservative Muslim lawyer to represent your interests regardless of what law school he came from? The only thing that should matter about a law school is that it teaches the law adequately. I mean, how far back to you want to go with this? There are a lot of Christian academies, for example, not to mention Catholic high schools. Should they not be able to teach anything?1 point

Muslims have been victims, the victims of illegal attacks on their countries, which far outweigh any attacks on the western illegal invaders. It doesn't help your case to always be crying wolf or running around screaming, "the sky is falling, the sky is falling". Why do you keep repeating this self-delusion, above?1 point

IMHO, one of the key setbacks to German nuclear research was the loss of the world's entire supply of deuterium. This was the work of several clandestine operations by Norwegian expats, resistance and Brits that destroyed the production equipment, and later the facilities at Norsk Hydro. The remaining equipment at the end could not produce enough quantity or quality to sustain supplies adequate for a reactor to produce weapons grade Pu. Norsk Hydro first gave their existing inventory of high purity D2O to France before the Nazis moved in, and that material was removed from the Curie institute by Brits and move through Dunkirk as the Germans invaded Paris and swept West. That was in turn moved to the most secure location the Allies could imagine - a new plant built in Warfield BC to support atomic bomb development over here. The Americans DID bomb the Hydro Norsk facilities once they entered the war, but by then the bulk of the work to remove material and destroy the equipment was already done, and it was a Brit/Norwegian commando raid that finally destroyed the facilities with hand placed demolition charges. The final blow to the Nazi atomic weapons programme was sinking of the ferry with the last of the poor quality D2O stocks - again nothing to do with the Yanks at all. Project Manhattan was far, far more the result of American initiative than any other country, but that was in making the Allied bomb, not stopping the Axis one.1 point

With trudeau and the liberals in power the WASPS will have to wait until the next election where we hope that Canadians can come to their senses and kick the anti-freedom of speech terrorist liberals out of office. What has been happening to the WASPS in Canada over the past several decades is a crime. To be a WASP today in Canada is to be treated like a third class citizen. At least that is the way I am seeing things these days here in la-la land.1 point

Quite the opposite. The education you received was a joke. It was all a long series of fabrications. In English, definitely Canadian history - forgetting to mention a genocide isn't a little deal. Yep...there's days when I wish I'd been put thru something more like a Klingon military prep school. If that foolishness had been beaten out of me at a younger age I'd probably own a dozen sweatshops in Cambodia and be looking at expanding into Burma. As it was I got sent to a free school at Rochdale where we had Buddhist monks for teachers and Hell's Angles for hall monitors. The Hells' Angles were sorta like Klingons I guess but not.1 point

dre. While you are quoting stuff, you should read the views of some who were on the sharp end. Doing the fighting an dying so to speak on August 14th 1945. Chapter 18 of George MacDonald Fraser's, Quartered Safe Out Here would be a good place to start. He was a young rifleman and section leader in Burma at the end of the war and afterward had conversations with people who weren't there that addressed just about everything you have raised. He agrees with you in that the Japanese were beaten at the time but the ones they were up against had shown no inclination to surrender and there was no question that more allied soldiers would die if they had to chase the Japanese into Malaya. He has also never found anyone who would have given up their own lives instead of those Japanese civilians, but plenty who had no problem with sacrificing more of the citizen soldiers who joined up for the duration, to fight a war that had to be fought. This was a war that had already taken more than 50 million lives fought by people who had seen their cities flattened by the Germans, the pictures of the concentration camps and the atrocities committed by the Japanese on civilians in Korea, China and other countries they had invaded. So adding a couple of hundred thousand Japanese civilians to that total wasn't a big issue for them. But at one point, he puts it on a purely personal level.1 point

Another crappy projection. Never have I said I represent Muslims in any way. I represent me and that's it. Stop your stupid projections. Grow up. I am not saying it was a conspiracy. The media now knows the real source and should be making a shit-tonne of retractions on their past reports blaming Muslims and using it as an example of rising antisemitism. Even your examples show that Jews and Muslims in many places are standing together, so that almost seems to go against the notion of there being a rise of antisemitism. I don't hate Jews or Muslims, however I don't really care for your stupid projections on what I really think. I'll tell you what I really think.1 point

Actually, there is a majjor difference between bigotry and my characterization of Trump supporters. If someone is a bigot/racist, they are taking a trait that may not be common and falsely assigning it to members of a particular group. (E.g. Trump saying "black people are lazy", "mexican immigrants are rapists",) However, Trump voters all have one thing in common... they voted for Trump. And outside something like a mind-control ray or hostage situation, they did so willingly First of all, yes there are other reasons someone may have voted for Trump. But for the most part I'd still find that questionable. After all, pretty much everything Trump had said was either 1) incredibly vague (such as "I will replace Obamacare but won't give you details"), 2) inconsistent, either with statements he himself made (e.g. the constantly changing cost of his well), or with evidence, or 3) of questionable morality or usefullness (e.g. committing war crimes to stop terrorism). So if someone said they voted for Trump for non-racist reasons, I'd still have concerns that a prospective employee might be too gullible or lack the critical thinking skills to be an effective employee. But lets say there was some reason a person could think of for voting for Trump. Maybe they really think millionaire deserve big tax cuts (one of the few policies that Trump has been more consistent and concrete with). Regardless of the reason, they still walked into the voting booth, and cast their vote for someone who is a racist, It doesn't matter how much they wanted that millionaire tax cut... voting for someone who considers an entire class of people as subhuman should automatically disqualify that person as a potential candidate among voters. I never claimed Trump shouldn't be able to run. What I said was that people shouldn't vote for him. If you hire someone, they will be representing your company. Their decisions will affect company profits, and ultimately your ability to earn a living. Hiring a racist, or someone who is gullible will potentially affect your company in a negative way. (Again, I want to stress when the decision is between 2 equally qualified candidates.) Trump voters are pretty much by definition either racists or gullible. Now, that doesn't mean that all Clinton supporters were perfect. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find more than a few that were racist themselves or had similar flaws. But again, if I had a choice, I'd much rather hire someone who was possibly flawed, as opposed to someone who was definitely flawed. I never claimed all trump supporters voted for Trump because of race. What I said was they were fine with racism. Since they voted for a racist. A man who said he was going to enact racist policies. That by definition makes them fine with racism.1 point

I find it interesting that the media used those attacks and attempted to pin it on Muslims and Islam. Also note that it was used as a new rising wave of anti-semitism across North America. Cool story bro! I have served my nation my whole life too by being a productive citizen not to mention funding your job and pay. As for the silliness about trying to marginalize my opinion because I have not "written papers, or held rallies", this is nonsensical. I'm a private citizen, and I don't need to do any of that stuff to have an opinion. And the fact remains that if I was in charge there wouldn't be any dead or sick or homeless troops, and if you were in charge there would probably be more.1 point

Can we put this silly meme to rest once and for all? It's a canard, another old wives tale, a lie, a fib, a falsehood, a falsity, a whopper, a ... . Jewish Self-Hatred : Myth or Reality ? Antony Lerman contextualises the time-worn accusation But does ‘Jewish self-hatred’ exist? Those who level the charge obviously have no doubts. So much so that it’s deployed as the ‘killer fact’: to be called a self-hating Jew explains everything. No more need be said. Self-hatred means being a traitor to your race, an Uncle Tom, siding with the enemy, willing the destruction of your own people. In Jewish Self-Hatred: Anti-Semitism and the Hidden Language of the Jews, Sander L. Gilman says it’s ‘a term interchangeable with “Jewish anti-Judaism” or “Jewish anti-Semitism”’. http://jewishquarterly.org/issuearchive/article2366.html?articleid=4321 point

Clinton was unpalatable to many voters because of her *policy* positions. Specifically her policies on abortion, climate change, business regulation and free speech. These have nothing to do with her grossly exaggerated faux pas' when it come to her email account or the Clinton foundation. You may not feel the same about Clinton's policy choices but you should be able to accept that a rational person would have a serious problem voting for her given her stated policies. Second, the Orangutan could be seen of a less objectionable candidate if one assumes that: 1) The solemnity of the office would temper him; 2) He would pick a cabinet of reasonably competent people; 3) Congress and the courts would tie his hands; Now 1) has turned out to be a pipe dream but it was plausible before the election. 2) and 3) are still plausible. So you can't really argue that it was obvious that the system could not manage with a Orangutan in charge provided one had suitably low expectations. It is rational to pick the candidate with incoherent policies if some of those polices sounded good when you absolutely hated the coherent polices of his opponent. I am also speaking based on experience talking to Trump voters who simply do not fit into your stereotypes and by insisting on applying your stereoytypes to all Trump voters you are no better than someone saying that all Muslims are terrorists or all illegal Mexican immigrants are criminals.1 point

Simply put: the Muslim world needs a Martin Luther. You don't seem to understand how the vitriol plays into Trump's hands by making him look like the reasonable one. 1. Your first reference has nothing at all to do with this thread. 2. Your assertion that two wrongs make a right, i.e., attacks on presumably innocent Muslims in Europe outweight what ISIL or Hamas or Al Quaeda, Boca Raton have done, is not only illogical but shows your agenda is to piss on what you perceive is your enemy-the West. 3. You might want to read back your responses to me which attempt to change the thread's topic and turn Muslims into victims and ask yourself the question you think you direct at me. By the way I am not crying wolf-I am simply responding directly to your words, and you are no wolf. You are just someone with an agenda who spews negative generalizations to justify your hatred and biases against non Muslims.0 points

Flynn may have been viewed as hot stuff in 2012, but in 2014 he got booted from the job because he just wasn't very good at it. Since then, he's a paid lobbyist and "consultant" for foreign governments, and a regular guest of the Russian propaganda organ "Russia Today". Leaving aside Flynn, what about other Russian-connected individuals Trump brought into his circle? Paul Manafort, Carter Page, Rick Gates? All just coincidence? -k0 points

The west's unnecessary polarization of the situation in Ukraine which lead to civil war? What a disaster. If there was one recent conflict where peace keeping made sense, it was in Ukraine to prevent civil war. Canada's current position on Ukraine is immoral, we should respect the right to self determination of all regions of Ukraine. So if the Crimean people overwhelmingly want to be part of Russia, we should respect that. Also, this unnecessary hostility with Russia makes it difficult to work with Russia to deal with our common enemy of Islamic Extremism. If the US doesn't like it, they can invade and annex us, in which case we win. We get freedom of speech, a monetary union, less trade barriers due to no border, greater labour mobility, increased capital investment, better netflix, etc.-1 points

So for all you people who went off on Muslim terrorism yesterday with the London Muslim guy killing 4 people, I am waiting for you to go off on USA terrorism aka Christian terrorism aka white on brown skin terrorism from the USA Christians bombing 3 houses in Mosul Iraq today killing over 200 civilians. Please explain why when Christians kill 200 women and children Muslims its not terrorism but when Muslims kill 4 Christians it is terrorism. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-39383989 " A senior UN official in Iraq said she was stunned by accounts of "terrible loss of life", after claims that at least 200 people had been killed in an air strike by the US-led coalition."
