I have pointed out a few times that even Carney openly admitted that the Canadian economy was already weak well before Trump, and that he has been involved in shaping Liberal policies since 2020 in an advisory role.

Carney has also publicly stated that China is the biggest security threat to Canada and now, he's cozying up to them? The CCP is urging Canada to 'break away' from US influence and presumably be more aligned with China. China is a market that's impossible to ignore but let's not forget that they are not in any way an ally of Canada.

Trying to make Canada viable trade partner for countries in the world is the key and very important now.

The future is what is of utmost importance to us now... the past is over and done...

Meritocracy, from the definitions I’ve seen, is about who runs the government.  I haven’t seen it referred to in the context you’re using.

But ok.  Call it a meritocracy.

By assuming minorities are not in their jobs due to merit, you’re showing my example of white privilege is a valid one.

At the end of the day, it's a human that will make a hiring decision. Ideally, the person that gets hired should be the most qualified candidate regardless of race or gender. Nobody should hired or not hired based on race as the deciding factor.

Well, the fact that you can't see see the obvious plethora of wafflegob without substance is your failure not mine.

There are many articles published on government inaction.

People can't walk into a grocery store and ask "how many words does that bag of potatoes cost".

OMG... go back to Walmart or better yet... a Dollar Store.

That seems the only place you seem to get it  LOL. Even a grocery store had to make a discuss before they made a deal with the supplier and potato farmer

Yes he did...then Trump changed his mind....and changed it again....

That never happened. Trump did not change his tune from minute one to today. It's the same trump nothing changed.

Carney did not know how to handle him. He promised he would handle trump but he couldn't and he had no idea of how to make that happen. He said it to get elected and once he got elected he couldn't do the job

Trump is the same trump he was on the day he was sworn in. Nothing has changed

Ending white privilege is really hard on people like you.  I get that. Creating a more level playing field seems like you’re losing something.

You're imagining things.  In 2025 nobody gives a sh*t what race or gender someone is.  Except for tokenists like yourself.

Throwing around insults as soon as someone mentions equality seems like the opposite.

Using skin color or gender as hiring criteria is equality of outcome not equality of opportunity, and can only occur via racist and sexist discrimination.

East Asians and south Asians (brown people) make higher incomes than white people in Canada. You're a fool.  My doctor is a Muslim and nobody cares.

Carney? F or sure, but at least he'll be a RICH loser having taken all the money out of canada. You'll be standing there in your underwear wondering what happened  and he'll be laughing at you but hey i'm sure you'll find a way to try to spin it positively :)

The obsession the Left has with 'solving' climate change

Congratulations on thinking you are 'correct' because you feel you're on the political right. You are a wrong winger,

Firstly by denying a problem existswhen it's in your face and you simply don't like the solutions suggested.
Second by buying into the falsehood that anything to do with climate change, environment, conservation and green energy has to do with the political spectrum, let alone exclusive to the left.

Your objection to anything 'progressive', regardless of the obvious that the economy is now based by businesses and billionaires on things that didn't even exist 2 decades ago is astoundingly hypocritical to you alleged support of free enterprise.
An attitude as ass backwards as the President with his drive to return it to manufacturing and tariffs. Blind to the fact others could do it cheaper, faster and better over a pipe dream of pounding rivets like Grampa did over having to learn a modern trade skill.

The US is pretty much telling us that's how they're starting to feel.

I mean don't get me wrong, I've been a no-truck no-trade sorta guy with China for decades just on account of human rights.

I guess that sort of concern is on par with climate concern these days.

Whats wrong with private health care, it would take some pressure of our current health care which is in crises...

It really depends how it’s implemented, but unless it’s properly regulated it can very easily end up siphoning resources from the public systems (doctors, donations etc) and leaving the poor with much worse access.
