For those who still have any question as to what the left is really about, just read below and then square that with your own understanding. You may surprise yourself.

"Globalism is the failed liberal authoritarian desire for a "one world" view that rejects the important role of nations in protecting values, public health and safety, and in promoting productivity. Globalism is anti-American in encouraging Americans to adopt a "world view" rather than an "American view." The ultimate goal of globalism is the eventual unification of humanity under a one-world government. Communists and Marxists are using globalization to advance their political aims.[1] Globalism incites unnecessary wars, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022.

Harms caused by globalism include the spread of deadly diseases, such as the coronavirus. Globalism also brings misguided support of unsuccessful political systems used by other countries to the United States. Globalists dealt themselves a severe blow when they cut themselves off from the Russian market with sanctions as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war,[2] ushering in a divided world and a New Cold War.[3]"

This is why democrats should never be allowed to have any power at any level.

If you are looking for an example of a country that tried to isolate its economy from the rest of the world, you need to look no farther than the Soviet Union.

We're not isolating. We're letting other countries know that we're not their doormats anymore - the democrats have been sidelined, and now it's time for the US to take its rightful place at the top.

The most demented justification of Trump's destruction of the world's economy yet: isolationism isn't isolationism because I say so.

Protectionism doesn't mean you can't compete because I say so.

Globalism is bad even though I couldn't define it to save my ass. Conservatives reject free trade, just like Ronald Reagan did.

Idiocracy is rampant!

isolationist policies do not work anymore. They worked pre-WWII because of low demand for certain goods made elsewhere. That being said.. wanting the US to make the goods instead of importing them is sensible in most cases. Some goods simply can't be produced without undue effort.

You're jumping the gun again, comrade.

All Trump did is level the playing field. I know you crybabies prefer the US under your feet, but those days are over.

Let's see how it all plays out.

It generally isn't. As a general rule if you want the world to trade with you then you must trade with the world. If you put up blockades to prevent them from dealing with you then they will put up blockades to prevent you from dealing with them  and it creates a horrible drag on the economy.

There are always certain exceptions in cases where tariffs or such items make sense. But by and large it doesn't work. Let's say all of the cars and parts made in Canada are picked up and those jobs are moved to the states. How many American cars do you think the Canadians will be buying? Canadians are currently locking china out of their market because it would interfere with the american Canadian automobile industry but if there is no Canadian automobile industry why wouldn't we let the Chinese sell here? Or make our own cars

So what would happen is the Americans would sell less cars. Canada is the number one purchaser of American cars outside of America by Leaps and Bounds. So suddenly the American Automotive companies start selling literally millions less cars

So those jobs that they moved vanish. Now there are the same number of jobs in America as there used to be but vastly less profit and the automotive industry cannot afford to pay its workers as much as it used to.

That's what this kind of tariffing  system looks like.

But don't ask me, take a look at the stock markets. They'll tell you if business is putting money into this or taking money out in fear.

Trump has a lot of good points and a lot of things that he could do to benefit the country and he still probably better than Kamala was but the whole trade war thing was a huge mistake

WTF? I never saw anything remotely like this on Star Trek when I was growing up.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

I disagree strongly with your premise.

The Left is the left - Democrats, democrats, whatever.

I recently flew in a Boeing 737 Max to Cuba. I traded with Cubans.

Decades ago, in Soviet times, I traded with Russians.

What's the difference?

====

Cuba nowadays is not a threat to the world.

The Soviet Union was.

Strongly disagree.

Trump is imposing taxes on Americans.

=====

Singapore, a place with very rich people, imposes no tariffs/taxes on any foreign imports - regardless of what taxes/tariffs the foreigners impose on Singapore.

A cease-fire in a tariff war means I stop hitting my head - so you stop hitting your head.

Heck, I can stop hitting my head whatever you do.

Trump is hitting his own head - or rather, he's hitting the head of ordinary Americans.

===

Maybe, just maybe, Trump's action may stop foreign governments from hitting their citizen's heads.

When I can buy New Zealand butter or good French cheese in Canada, I'll beleive it.

Deluge, if people in China are willing to work for far lower wages, does this harm us?

How low?

Sunlight is free. Gravity is free. Imagine if a foreign source would work for nothing?

You Americans are good for ideas. America is good for ideas.

As a Canadian, trust me, we borrow.

We Canadians are free riders on your ideas: your good will.

We could not wish for better southern neighbors.

And you too, you could not wish for better people to the north, better neighbours.

Globalism is a cancer on nations which built prosperity. It siphons wealth from such nations, only to give it to failed nations.

Canada needs to quit it as well. We should protect our workforce...not trash them for $2.00 t-shirts at Wallymart and cheap-ass junk at the Dollar Store.

That's OK, you're not used to the truth, but that's why I'm here: to shove it in your face. ;)

The difference is what you believe in.

For example, I believe in the "American view" as stated in Conservapedia. You, on the other hand, believe in the "World view" or "Globalist view" which is why you highlighted the old USSR and Cuba as places that you proudly did business with. The stench of global marxism is all over you.

We need the jobs here, not someplace else. We need to start making our own stuff again. We need to be independent, not dependent. If you want to be dependent, then move to a communist country.

Ideas are great, but so is being independent. Trump is open for business. Let's see what the rest of the world can come up with. ;)

After WW2 the US emerged as the richest country in the world where the rest of the world had its industries and economies devastated by WW2. The rest of the world has since recovered and the 50's aren't coming back no matter how much Americans (or Canadians) may yearn for them.

Lets see how well things go when the US doesn't have your back anymore.

Like I said, Trump is open for business, and now it's time for the rest of the world to get in line.

Leftard logic: "Orinj man bad. Too much power. We need emperor to rule entire planet. Emperor will be good. Will share with everyone. So sayeth CNN."

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

"If it didn't come from CNN, it's heresy!" - leftist "intellectuals"
