Just Say It, Democrats: Biden Has Been a GREAT President

Quote

A plea to my Democratic friends: It’s time to start calling Joe Biden a great president. Not a good one. Not a better choice than Donald Trump. Joe Biden is a historically great president. Say it with passion backed by the conviction that it’s true.

Because it is.

Yes, the desire to see the 2024 election as a choice between a normal, stable president versus an erratic thug under indictment in multiple states is seductive. But don’t base a campaign on that contrast. Don’t go into 2024 with the game plan to win because Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy. That’s true, he is, but that’s only making the case that Donald Trump shouldn’t be president. It’s not the reason Joe Biden should be reelected.

Joe Biden should remain president because of his historic level of achievement here at home while standing on the side of freedom versus tyranny in the largest land war in Europe since World War II, a role no American president has played since the Roosevelt-Truman era. Be bold. Walk into this campaign with swagger and confidence and pride.

Your problem is, you believe your memes mean something when they are just gratuitous allegations AT BEST.

And you're not smart enough to make a real case for whatever your point is.

Joseph Biden is indeed a great President, not only has his reforms of the bully Trump.platforms that resulted in re-establishing the Respect and Honor this country had with the world as well as the grudging fear of our enemies but at the same time is dealing with an outright Traitor and his trained pack of Mafia-type thugs who tried to overturn our Elections and become America's first and only ?dictator.  If President Biden was at all the kind of man that Trump claims he is, Trump would have been assassinated by now.

Infation was stable under Trump - right around 2%, where you want it to be.

Joe Biden was saying there was "no inflation" in 2021 and then he had various excuses like "transitory inflation" and "Putinflation" through 2023, but I think that even leftards here can see that was untrue. Whether or not Joe knew he was lying is anyone's guess. It's possible that he really believed it. Fact remains, inflation soared.

Don't expect leftards to admit it, just know that it was so extreme that even they're smart enough to see it.

Interest rates are double their peak under Trump. Yay Joe!

(That was situational irony. NVM, leftards, just take a victory lap lol.)

Disposable Income rose steadily under Trump while inflation remained low. DI went from 14.4T to 16.6T at a steady pace. That's an increase of 15.3% in disposable income.

Under Biden it started at 16.6 and is just at 16.9 now. An increase of 1.8%.

The growing gap between income and inflation was noticeable under Trump. People had more and more purchasing power every year.

The reverse was noticeable under Biden. The prices of food and energy spiked under Biden while disposable income has been stagnant.

While these things are important, and economic indicators for Americans were obviously far better under Trump than under Biden, the rise in violent crime, robberies, and homelessness has been atrocious under Biden. The USA is actually going downhill fast right now.

As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the main thing that we noticed is that the world quickly started to be at peace when Trump became president, and the future looked stable.

Now we're right back to where we were when Obama was leaving office - the world is defined by hideous war and suffering and the Dems' answer is "MORE WARBUCKS FOR EVERYONE!!!!! WAR! WAR! WAR! WAR!!!!! EVERYBODY SEND YOUR KIDS OUT TO DIEEEEEEE!"

This is great for Demis, but Demis are evil.

You are intellectually challenged on a level I didnt imagine was possible.

"Looking at the approval ratings of the past seven presidents at the same point in their first term in office, Biden’s current 39% is the lowest. Barack Obama (43%) and Donald Trump (45%) had slightly higher ratings heading into the year they sought reelection, while all of the others were above 50%."

I think politics has become so toxic that we will never see another President over 50% heading into an election year.

I blame the loss of religion and community. I think we as people need to feel part of a group that is larger than ourselves and at one time people identified themselves through their religious beliefs and their community it created stability and believe it or not more flexibility in who they vote for.

Now political parties are how they identify themselves and there are a lot of people who stick to the dogma of their party religiously. That is why the more extreme they go the more extreme their followers go.

This is funny. You think you've posted 3 Biden failures, but you've actually posted the same gripe three times--and it starts with Trump.

1. The disposable income graph is ALREADY inflation adjusted, so even you can see that Americans are better off financially under Biden today than they were under Trump even before the pandemic. Glad you're helping to spread the good news.

2. Remember this is a pandemic story. The two spikes you see on the disposable income graph (1 under Trump, 1 under Biden) are the two massive direct relief cash-to-the-public programs. Some action here was necessary to prevent collapse, but the data suggests that these programs weren't targeted enough. Because...

3. The pandemic fueled massive disruption to the supply chain globally. So we suddenly have fewer goods in the market COMBINED with the disposable income from item 2, so we get inflation. Which is further exacerbated as oil production lagged the general population during the recovery. People resumed driving faster than companies could un-shutter rigs and re-staff for production. (Again, Trump negotiated for reduced oil production to protect the oil companies--which was actually a good thing, but it doesn't mean it didn't have a knock on effect later.)

4. And interest rates, which had been unnaturally low for longer than they should, were raised to fight the inflation from points 2 and 3.

3 views of the same phenomenon. And the American people came out of the other side better for it. Like most of the economy, it can't be credited entirely to Biden simply because he was in office, but fact that we were able to avoid a pandemic crash, execute a managed recovery and return to growth is a pretty impressive bit of work. Unlike Trump, who left the country far worse off than when he took office, it looks now like Biden will finish his term with a vast improvement.

Hey, Biden has been an amazing president, for both democrats AND republicans.  No doubt about it.

He has woken people up to the reality of the American government like nothing in history.  Trump claimed there was a swamp, but his work only reached some of the Dems out there.  Biden has proved beyond a doubt that the American government and ruling class has been taken over by the swamp.  A billion dollars at a time.

Only the hard core brainwashed still can’t see it at this point, and that’s okay because they are the small(if noisy) minority.  They will scream and moan loudly, being dragged into reality by forthcoming events like the upcoming election.

So thank you Biden.  This may have single-handedly saved the nation, and by extension the free world.  And the final nail in the coffin of the brainwashed will be his arrest and sentencing.

STILL much better than Canada and the rest of the Western developed nations. Duh

Yes, inflation is the result of demand taking off quicker than production, but as can be seen from your graphs, production is quickly catching up.

It is a problem in the political culture that when the man of your own party is the President and he wants to get re-elected challenging him from within his own party is considered somehow traitorous behaviour. Hence an incumbent, however incompetent he may be, does not have to worry about primaries that his upcoming opponent in the general election does.
