I've been to Germany many times. The Autobahns are an interesting drive and their hiways are impeccable.

Been to Frankfurt too. Interesting main square in DT Frankfurt. If its the same as I remember, its a big circle with business on one side and sex shops, hookers and drugs on the other. Meh...German need for order.

There are such differences in the German dialects that northeners and southeners might struggle to understand each other.

The south used to be catholic and the north used to be protestant. Nowadays nobody cares about religion.

The circle you speak of in Frankfurt is the Roma. No sex shops or hookers there, just good ole Clark Griswold touristy family fun. Good food, outside beer gardens, shops etc. That's in the downtown district and the prostitution is legal, taxed and the sex workers get tested monthly for STDs. But that area is zoned and heavily regulated by law enforcement
