It certainly did.  However - for having dared point that out you will now be subject to an  angry barrage spoken in the high trill of the enraged lefties insisting "true communism has never been tried!!!!!! REEEEEEEEE"  :)

Which is of course complete poppycock.

I think you know perfectly well why you're losing.

You seem to have a strange fascination with two-year old level of communications in general. Intriguing case. You know Johnny chocolate is bad for you... you know it, right? You DO KNOW it Johnny! Just believe me... please!... or... or... I'll cry!

If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant

My my you do have a defeatist attitude. I made capitalism work for me. Guess I'm not just more clever than you.

Why do you make such stupid ASSumptions?

I never said Capitalism doesn't work for me. I said it FAILS when people profit off of the downtrodden being jobless.

That is WHY we (and you) have a HYBRID system instead of pure capitalism. Duh

Well no, it doesn't. You would have to prove those people were preventing the jobless from getting jobs. And that doesn't happen much in capitalism - it's to everyone's benefit for people to have jobs, including the rich

We don't have a 'hybrid' system.  We have capitalism.  You are grossly uneducated once again.

Capitalism  does not preclude regulation.  Capitalism without any regulation is known as laissez-faire. capitalism, and it never happens on a large scale. But that's just one flavor.

We have what some people call mixed market capitalism, or perhaps regulatory capitalism but it's still just capitalism.  It isn't a hybrid of any other model.

Capitalism is an economic model only - unlike something like communism which must be both an economic and political  model. You very clearly don't understand it at all.

Capitalism does not fail those with the respect it takes to want to work. Our society's problem is...too many spoiled brats who don't want to work. They expect society to provide for them.

And so do you.

2. Mulroney is not the voice of the majority, and I'm stunned that ANY conservative would parrot that claptrap - it makes them more of a Conservative In Name Only, or CINO.

Do you want to make them wear pink triangles too?

If a man and a woman can walk down the street holding hands, then two men or two women can.  It’s that “freedom” thing you people keep mentioning… remember?

Freedom isn’t pie. It’s not as if the freedom of some other group makes you less free.  It doesn’t work that way.

How absurd. Your “evidence” is an article that says their stock market only rose 1.2%.

I realize that you aren’t playing with a full deck of cards upstairs, but surely even with your limited skill set, you can see that stock markets and housing markets rise and fall and go through slumps.  We had a way bigger slump in 2008, but America didn’t “fail,” and China is not going to “fail” any more than Japan or Britain has failed.

And China is a communist country. You can play all the BS word games you want, they are a communist country.  So as much as I detest communism and the ways of the Chinese government, they are not a failure.  They were a third world country in the 1970’s and now they are the world’s second largest economy.

1. I don't give a sh*t. It's the where that I care about, not the what

2. That's true. If parents are walking with their kids and they see two homosexuals holding hands, it can be a great teaching moment for the parents. "Son, those two are wrong for acting that way, but we shouldn't mistreat them. It's best to just let them be; unless, of course, they sink their claws into the school system and demand alone time with you and your classmates. If the school caves in then you tell mom and me".

3. Freedom has ground rules, and the homosexual agenda should have no part of the ground rules in this country. Homosexuals can enjoy the same freedoms the rest of us enjoy, but their agenda needs to be trashed and burned.

The real issue is that you’re gay and I’m not.

See, women give me boners, and men don’t.  I didn’t need my parents to “teach” me that. But you think sexual attraction is something a person chooses, and that you need to suppress same sex attraction. I hate to break it to you, but the reason is because you’ve been suppressing your attraction towards other men.

It’s fine with me if you want to live your life as a closeted homosexual. That’s your choice, and I can see how you must get uncomfortable at the sight of two men happily and openly holding hands.  That’s gotta be hard for you.

I know of people whose parents completely refuse to speak to them because they came out.  Seems like a wasteful way to go through life.  Of all the rules in the Bible, it seems like a very odd one to get so hung up on. You probably eat pork and wear clothing that’s a blend of two different fibers and you probably haven’t sacrificed a lamb in a very long time, and I think you ought to stop being such a dinosaur and accept that the society around you has moved on, just as we allow women to go in public without covering their heads and stores are open on Sundays.

Huh...nice cherry-picking. Here's what the article actually says...

Chinese officials also asked mutual funds in the nation to stop net equity sales to boost its stock market, sources told Bloomberg

The CSI 300 Index, a benchmark index of mainland stocks, jumped 5.5% early Monday. But stocks then lost most of those gains, with the CSI 300 up 1.2%.

Global investors sold a net 8.2 billion yuan ($1.1 billion) of mainland stocks via Hong Kong trading links, according to Bloomberg.

Friday also saw a similarly fleeting stock rally. After the government unveiled new measures meant to revive the ailing property market, the CSI 300 turned positive. But the index resumed its slide after just 10 minutes.

That comes amid faltering confidence in China's economy, as the nation endures a disappointing economic recovery since dialing back its zero-COVID policies. Demand has failed to revive itself since being battered by the pandemic, which led the economy to slip into deflation this summer.

Meanwhile, China is also struggling from high youth unemployment, key demographic issues, and a hefty pile of debt in its property sector, which has already sparked instability for some of the nation's largest real estate giants.

Experts say that those problems have been years in the making, thanks to China's history of using short-term stimulus in its economy, which skates over its long-term demand issues.

The nation could be on the verge of a "lost decade" similar to the one that slammed Japan's economy in the 1990s, scholars say. That could bring on a debt deflation loop, Morgan Stanley strategists warned, a scenario where prices continue to free-fall while debt rises and economic growth stagnates.

Don't take up poker.

This is the tip of the iceberg. The internet is chalk full of doom's day reports about China right now.

But ya...you should be investing in their currency too.

The Great Depression is proof that Capitalism failed.  Right? Proof! It failed. No. Soviet Communism failed, but Chinese communism has not, whether you like it or not.

Or is it proof that all economic systems experience downturns from which they subsequently recover?

Actually, that was a very incisive point. If you interpret the slowdown in China as a failure of the economic system, how else would you characterize something as extreme as the great depression?

Neatly done. Boxed in like that, your options are to concede the point, find a meaningful flaw in the comparison, or toss out a childish insult and tuck tail.

For what it's worth, only the first two are dignified.
