I would not doubt some are contemplating peace negotiations.  I'll believe this when it happens. Let's not forget the USA funded Afghanistan's guerrilla warfare against the Soviet Union for nearly a decade. Aside from that the onus is on the Ukrainians to accept the peace terms, which they almost certainly will not want to do.

I get it...you hate Russians. A lot of people do. But your hatred does not alter reality.

Like most normal people, I hate what Russia has done- invading a weaker military nation, and committing war crimes without provocation. It seems like you hate what is right and wrong.

Ukraine never stood a snowball's chance in Hell of maintaining the eastern provinces. They, along with Crimea, were already gone before Russia ever entered Ukraine.

Russia and the Ukraine have battled for the Eastern provinces for nearly two years. Ukraine has actually made advances in the Northeast and South. They are also destroying infrastructure in the Crimea. You seem really desperate for Ukraine to surrender for some bizarre reason.

Let's not forget the USA attacked Iraq with no provocation or reason.

OK well...the provocation issue is quite debatable. Right and wrong are subjective. I hate stupidity and the denial of reality.

Not bizarre at all. There are tens of thousands...maybe hundreds of thousands of Ukes all over Europe now on welfare. The nations housing them are not pleased with the situation. The death toll of Ukes in the war is insane. They're reaching the bottom of the barrel and now want these "refugees" back to fight and I understand they are now grabbing young men and women off the street to go fight. Ukraine can not win a war of attrition with Russia.! That's just a fact.

You speak for everyone now? Why is it people fall back on this bullshit when cornered? And Drunken Driver...I'm thinking I know more about history than you or any of your nobodies.

Classic whataboutism.

There has rarely been an example of a clear cut case of right and wrong, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The sole objective was to reclaim the areas of the Soviet Union that broke off in 1991.  Additionally, Russia has falsely claimed that Ukraine traditionally belongs to Russia (Ukraine is older than Russia), and that people in Eastern Ukraine are really ethnically Russian (2/3+ of Eastern Ukrainians are Ukrainian).

First off, can you prove that a significant number of Ukrainians are on "welfare?" Here in Canada, most found work within 6 months of arriving.

The death toll for Ukraine is roughly 60% of what it is for Russia.  About 75,000 Russians have been killed, and 50,000 Ukrainians have perished.  From all reports, morale is still high among the Ukrainians, and they are determined to fight on. Russia, OTOH, has battled with low morale, drug and drinking problems, and desertion.

1. This has nothing to do with the Soviet Union. You're now reduced to stupid statements.

2. The population of Russia is about 150,000,000. The population of Ukraine is about 45,000,000. Do the math.

It's clear from your replies, that you are not educated about this conflict. I have nothing further to say to you.

My father always reminded me as a kid...A man is judged by how he wins AND how he loses.

You know when the media gets quiet in a war... something is wrong. The generals aren't crowing about victory anymore.

Who knows what will happen. The Russians have sheer numbers on their side. They’d be better off just hanging on to what they have - their attacks are disasters. The Ukrainians have the advantage of US and European equipment and superior morale but their democratic allies are less tolerant of war than the dictatorship they face. It’s remarkable that we are even talking about a front in Eastern Ukraine rather than a guerilla war in a Russian-occupied country. Shows how far Russia has fallen.

Russia is going to be in such a state of disarray when this war ends.  They already have experienced 300,000 casualties.  If we look at the demographics of Russia, there are 147 million people. However, the Russians ahve had issues with population decline, as there are more people over 55 than under 18.

Also, the vast majority of the military is 18-40 year old men. My guess is the number of men aged 18-40 would be roughly 25-30 million people. So already they have lost over 1% of that age group. This may seem like not that much, but a disproportionate number of recruits are from prison, rural areas, and non-Russian satellite states like Chechnya and Dagestan.

It's only a matter of time before they either run out of recruits from these areas, and have to draft young men in the larger predominantly Russian cities. Shit is going to hit the fan when young  middle class people from Moscow and St.Petersberg are forced to fight in Ukraine.

No doubt Putin is having a field day, every day, with the on-goings in this country and elsewhere in the west. Canada giving a Nazi a standing ovation in the HOC. The obvious antisemitism being openly expressed by some on the left, while leaders give empty lip-service scoldings to what is actually a hate crime on the books. In contrast to the conflict towards state/parent/ child relations, liberal value indoctrination, we are what Putin would call perverse nation. And he may be right... ;)

Should not be a problem to rally up men to enlist in the fight against western fascism and the illiberal decadence we've become.

Criticism of Israel should not be confused with antisemitism however.

Too late for that. Hard-boiled right-wing Israelis have long succeeded at conflating anti-Semitism with criticism of Israel abroad and at home with the left wing in particular. The term's definition has had less and less to do with racism for decades now.

You know the gigs up when Rabbis are cancelled for being anti-Semites.

The mess that matters the most is the relationship between the right and the left. Everywhere.

Fix that and I bet most if not all of them chickens will soon be looking for somewhere else to roost.

I'm more of a "Rothschilds vs other rich sons o bittches" believer, and that the war of 5 key countries, the superpowers, is the driving force behind all major historical events from about 1400 or so up till now. We are mere cogs in a machine. Not even.

Oh well. Pass me another beer, Aggie...

It's being fixed. The fbi and doj have very little trust left. The Biden family is being exposed as criminals. Hillary-Billary is a public joke.

Sooo...where are you going to roost?
