Been contributing around here a lot longer than you.   Trying to silence those with an opposing view never works here...this forum is much better than that.

Canadians have been traveling to the U.S. during the entire epidemic...vaxed or not.

Then keep up. The US mandate was announced in October and went into effect one week after the Canadian mandate.

Some things are worth fighting for...have you never protested anything for fear of getting a "criminal record" ?   And why are you so worried about them visiting the U.S. ?    Seems kind of ironic to me.

Stay safe...let others do the hard work of keeping liberty.

They are not protesters and are not working for liberty.  They have done nothing positive but have done much harm to thousands of people.  They are not doing anything for me.  They are nothing more than thugs and anarchists.  Just costing me money for policing, government's time, legal costs, and everything else associated.  Making our country poorer.  They deserve punishment.

When the state goes bonkers like this, an arrest is a badge of honor

No there isn't. So far the charges are for mischief and counselling mischief.

except they never committed that crime

they were just arrested for protesting

and the government will be paying out some rather large settlements

for these fugazi arrests and violations of their charter rights

And yet, you expressed concern about their future opportunity to cross the border into the U.S., where protests and liberty are very much treasured (and protected).

You are seemingly unconcerned about the harm your government(s) have done with Covid policies and mandates for nearly two years.

You can debate about Covid policies all you like, but those policies were implemented by a democratically-elected government and saved thousands of lives.  Even if people disagreed with Covid policies, that gives them no right to break the laws with illegal blockades and occupations and inflict misery on thousands of other people.

Doesn't matter....Canadians had the right to protest long before Covid, and many have done so for decades.   And that includes civil disobedience.   If they get arrested, so be it.

Others will do the hard work to protect freedom and liberty while you stay safe.

laws which violate their rights are unlawful

whether a democratically-elected government passes them or not

I'd add that the Libs and NDP did not run on this sort of extreme mandate platform as well. Would have changed my vote
