Not necessarily a good thing...mass shootings per capita in some other nations is nothing to brag about.

President Obama thought he had it all figured out too, but he was wrong:

20% of NRA members are Democrats, and 40% of U.S. gun owners are Democrats.

Guns are very, very American, regardless of the NRA.

Not necessarily a good thing...mass shootings per capita in some other nations is nothing to brag about. These would be mostly poor broken down countries.

I dont agree....money is a very american thing....you can buy anything including votes.

So what's Canada's excuse for its "mass shootings", if it is so much better that these other countries ?

Hard to get gun laws passed when Republican led congress blocks you from stepping on the NRA's toes

Congress blocked Obama's call for new gun laws after mass shootings

There is no excuse for any unjustified shooting....its just plain wrong.....but you can try to limit the amount of gun crimes through gun laws ,which Canada has done and shows in the amount of homicides by capita  most civilized countries have done except the USA.

Are you saying all gun owners are the same? There is a world of difference between someone that has a hunting rifle or two, and someone with an arsenal of assault weapons modified for automatic fire (brass rainbow). The one difference between America and Canada is that there are also a large number of handgun owners in America, but most of them couldn't shoot straight if their weapon didn't jam in the first place.

Clearly I did not say any such thing.

Gun ownership is very common in the United States, for many different Americans.

Nearly 18,000 gun homicides means that some people are very much "shooting straight".

Super PACs are aligned for there partisan causes and ideology.

Democrats did receive contributions from the NRA...much less than Republicans.

Since all the gun crimes are not mental illness there are other factors involved

Some ways of reducing gun crimes

1-Spend more on mental health

2-Laws to keep guns out of the hands of people with mental illness.

3-Banning assault weapons and weapons with high capacity magazines/clips.

4-Laws to make gun owners more responsible for the guns registered to them

5-The public to form an association to compete with donations to members of congress to secure there vote for gun controls.

You'll "let" BC have his guns? How magnanimous of you.

Sorry, I forgot. He isn't Muslim or native so he is a human being.

Where were you the 39 times the police showed up at his door in the past 5-6 years, or when the FBI got his name from a post saying he would be the next school shooter, or the numerous times he got in trouble at school including being expelled?

I was probably speaking out against people who want to blame and punish people for being sick. In all the 39 times the police showed up to talk with this kid did anyone think to send a psychiatrist?

BTW how do you punish your kids when they come home with the flu?

The vast share of which should be spent on changing the public's medieval attitudes towards mental illness. They're even more primitive than attitudes towards guns.

It'd be refreshing is the GOP comes out and says these shootings are the price of freedom. And that they don't give two shits about the "victims". Because not moving on ANY!!! gun control regulations, even those that are very popular, prove that.

Give us your vision of how 'gun control' will work.
