cybercoma Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 Canada is certainly complicit in all of this, despite Harper's claims to the contrary. He used the intel. He got his hands dirty in all of this. So now back to the perpetrators of this disgusting violation of human rights. Quote

Big Guy Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 Just saw the Director of CIA rebuttal on TV. Not a good situation in a democracy when one arm of government openly criticizes another. That kind of process serves only to undermine trust in the whole system. I would still like to see Canada creating a bi-partisan committee to closely oversee CSIS and its functioning. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

I wanted to watch the Director's side of it and tuned into NBC's 6pm national news. They played about 4 seconds of what the director said, and then cut to the media questions that shaped the story the way they wanted it portrayed. No doubt the sheeple ate it up. Quote
cybercoma Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) Wake up, sheeple! The TRUTH is out there! 9/11 was an inside job! Edited December 12, 2014 by cybercoma Quote

sharkman Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Let's fwd that to Bob and get his opinion. As I type I am reaching for one of my old cd's. Really, is this one of your favourites from Dylan? Here's the song you are so concerned about: WHEN HE RETURNS The iron hand it ain't no match for the iron rod, The strongest wall will crumble and fall to a mighty God.For all those who have eyes and all those who have ears It is only He who can reduce me to tears. Don't you cry and don't you die and don't you burn For like a thief in the night, He'll replace wrong with right When He returns. Truth is an arrow and the gate is narrow that it passes through, He unleashed His power at an unknown hour that no one knew. How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice? How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the wilderness? Can I cast it aside, all this loyalty and this pride? Will I ever learn that there'll be no peace, that the war won't cease Until He returns? Surrender your crown on this blood-stained ground, take off your mask, He sees your deeds, He knows your needs even before you ask. How long can you falsify and deny what is real? How long can you hate yourself for the weakness you conceal? Of every earthly plan that be known to man, He is unconcerned, He's got plans of His own to set up His throne When He returns. So did you get through to Bob yet? Quote

Michael Hardner Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 As for the partisan bull you guys are engaging in here, do I need to remind you that these programs received support from both sides of the aisle in the US? What we're talking about here isn't a partisan issue. It's a moral and an ethical one. Two things that the United States has demonstrated that it clearly lacks, despite their efforts to go around policing the world. To add: the current administration is on the defense with the release of this documents and has withheld information using 'executive privilege' ! http://www.politico.com/story/2014/12/president-obama-torture-cia-113457.html President Obama’s mixed signals Also adding to frustration in some quarters: The White House instructed the CIA not to provide approximately 9,400 pages of interrogation-related documents to the Senate due to a potential claim of executive privilege. “The Committee requested access to these documents over several years. … The Committee received no response from the White House,” the report’s summary says. bush_cheney2004 Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 The CIA is a direct descendent of the Office of Strategic Services that was stood up by the U.S during WW2. Initial training and intel came from the U.K. intelligence services, and some agents were trained in Canada. Not surprisingly, the OSS became very aggressive after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
