US Torture Report - A Shining Beacon of....I'm sorry I just get so

It's been presented, you refuse to acknowledge any of it. And have not presented any of your own. Let's see your logical arguments, other than your arguments from personal incredulity which hold no basis in logic and shifting the burden of proof and evidence without providing any of your own.

When has it been presented?

Yes, I'm sure you are. Let me know if/when you come up with a logical answer.

Why don't you take this argument to the appropriate thread.

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass. - Maya Angelou

Because he doesn't really want to talk about abortion. He wants to derail the original discussion because he has nothing left to contribute to the topic.

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find your way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

As expected, a majority of polled American agree that it's torture, but sometimes justified:

Well yeah, a majority of Americans probably also agree they have the moral end ethical background to tell the difference between right and wrong...which of course is an equally ridiculous notion.

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

I agree...nobody has a monopoly on the "difference between right or wrong", especially those who think they do.

Economics trumps Virtue.

Sure except that has dick all to do with what I said.

What you said was a strawman. What you think a majority of Americans "probably" think about themselves means nothing to the discussion.

What you said was a strawman.

No it wasn't.

What you think a majority of Americans "probably" think about themselves means nothing to the discussion.

Of course it does. Edited by eyeball

Yes it was. You erected a strawman, and then knocked it down in the next sentence. It's meaningless.

What you said is complete nonsense. Edited by eyeball

No I don't agree.

You clearly said you were special, the italics indicted you said that through clenched teeth.

Oh I get it, you're bored again. Hey, project on me if that makes you feel any better. But you still have no special qualifications to judge, roam the net as you may.

What in the hell are you talking about?

No kidding. Which is worse...

A/ an adult terrorist gets subjected to some physical discomfort in the effort to save people's lives

...or...

B/ an innocent unborn child is cut up and ripped apart at the behest of the mother because he's inconvenient.

The former is practical and logical, the latter is purely barbaric. Yet many on the left are offended by A/, yet think B/ is a right. Moral compass? Broken.

False analogy. A good number of the people who were subjected to "enhanced interregations techniques" were completely innocent. So you're ok with that, but we'r ethe ones with a broken moral compass?

I don't believe water boarding and or sleep deprivation, etc, is torture. So no, I don't condone torture.

I'm just trying to figure out why simulated drowning on a known adult terrorist is so abhorrent, but a scalpal to the back of the head of a 7 month unborn baby is acceptable to you people. It's somewhat confusing.

Not sure why you're so confused since you yourself are engaged in the same moral gymnastics you accuse others of. Take your time. I'll hang up and listen.

What sharkman is saying is that you're incapable of determining whether torture is right or wrong. Sharkman's is an abhorrent position that excuses torture as some morally subjective issue that is neither right nor wrong. When you're capable of excusing torture, you're capable of excusing anything.

I kinda figured that, but I guess I was hoping I could lead Sharkman to that water so he could drink it himself.

We should coordinate our efforts better.
