Really?

Show me in that link I provided where the writer concludes UFO's abducted the plane then?

I followed the link and saw a headline pointing to 'supernatural sources'. If you don't know what Natural News is, you should look more closely at where you go for news. I am familiar with them.

Right because we know we can trust entities like CNN Fox, ABC, CBS, CBC, CTV, BBC... and many other 3 letter combination alphabet networks. And anytime God is mentioned in any article it is referring to supernatural things. No beef with that?

A act of 'god' can be considered supernatural. Natural News is a good source for some information.

Personally, I'm not buying any of that without a lot more evidence. The most likely explanation so far is that the debris simply hasn't been found yet because it fell over an area which is somehow outside the search zone. But as each day goes by, even this explanation becomes harder and harder to swallow

This quote is taken out of the article in question.

And then the writers final comment here

The frightening part about all this is not that we will find the debris of Flight 370; but rather that we won't. If we never find the debris, it means some entirely new, mysterious and powerful force is at work on our planet which can pluck airplanes out of the sky without leaving behind even a shred of evidence.

If there does exist a weapon with such capabilities, whoever controls it already has the ability to dominate all of Earth's nations with a fearsome military weapon of unimaginable power. That thought is a lot more scary than the idea of an aircraft suffering a fatal mechanical failure.

This part is far fetched. If the debris is never found, then one must conclude that there is no debris or it cannot be found for some reason.

Once again Michael Hardner, I don't care about the messenger, just the info.

The link provided good info, if you have doubts, it has been noted.

In the mean time, I suggest that you do not be so quick to believe in everything that you may here (UFO's)

Reports I've read said that families try to cellphones of their loved one and the cells rang but no answer, so are the cells water proof? They also know that the plane was still flying for 4 hours after it went missing on radar. So. does that mean it was flying under radar and been highjacked and if so, was the pilot in on it OR has crashed on land and not in water and is there a movie being thought about after we find out what happen??

Debunked. The cellphones were signal feedback searching for the cell phones not from the cellphones themselves. There is also conflicted testimony as to whether in fact the plane was flying after it went off radar. Off radar might mean off the schedued flight path. If you find the flight path it is altered to, its back on radar-or it could mean literally its blown up and therefore off the radar. Hard to know.

Its all speculation of course but here is my arguement why I don't think it was a hijacking as opposed to a bomb. with today's hijackings do you notice terrorists don't do them anymore. The reason for that is governments show powerful responses. They send in their commandoes. Heck even Jamaica with a crazay Canadian guy who tried to take over a plane used strong force. The show of force when a plane lands, and that is not good public relations (meta-communications) for terrorists. It does not show governments as helpless but just the opposite-willing to send in commandoes and blow up the damn plane if they have to.

So its better to blow the plane up if you are a terrorist. You avoid the meta-message, the indirect unintended message of government strength when the hijacked plane lands.

With a mid air bomb there is no chance of governments displaying any sort of response that suggests strength or lack of fear.

By blowing the plane up, it shows how helpless people are and how useless governments are- and that is the name of the game with terrorism-to show people are vulnerable and that governments can not protect them.

Now that there is an eye witness who reported a fire ball, that appears to sound like a bomb.

As for the plane being re-directed, it appears the theories of it being re-directed may not be accurate. Those re-routing rumours were initiated by the Malaysian government, the same government that brought in a witch doctor on its national t.v. to do some dance and banging of cocanuts to find where the plane is.

Now as for China asking for help, I believe that. I believe they might very well have signalled, look you all know we have satellite technology and spy on you (South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, etc.) but that was no secret-help us now look for the friggin plane because we can't find it on our satellite.

The US has a ship its sent in. I am sure South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, China and the US are all in their own way trying to asses what happened and who the heck knows what North Korea is doing but all those other mentioned countries have direct interests in that air region. Whether they are going to exchange evidence is a problem because no one wants to compromise their intelligence gathering abiltiies. New Zealand and Australia are part of the 5 Eyes Intelligence network with the US and all work together in that area of the world. The US, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan all have mutual intelligence networks and the Phillipines depends on the US for intelligence as it has limited resources. However all those alliances are not exactly going to release certain info to China for obvious reasons. Heck even Vietnam has had offshore disputes with China and so has Russia.

No one trusts China so its turning to others to help it, is obviously not going to lead to an outpouring of intelligence exchange. China's spying ahs come back to bite it in the ass so to speak.

When and if they do find the black box its like a race to get it. We assume however the black box survived in tact. The depth of the ocean or the energy from the explosion might have compromised it and/or destroyed it.

I think because of the intelligence concerns with China, you are going to continue to see a news black out and me personally I would take it with a grain of salt whatever official story is finally released. Like most, it will probably contain a bit of truth combined with a while bit of fiction to keep the Chinese guessing and on their toes if the others get to it first.

I postulate that two Iranians with stolen passports did not fly to China for a vacation and probably picked Kuala Lumpur because its a Muslim country with a lot of extremists that could provide logistic support for penetration into the airport and plane. For all any of us knows an employee on the runway and/or security assisted.

I tell you this. With El Al, this would have been caught. They profile everyone. Everyone getting on their planes is interviewed personally and profiled. Malaysian Airlines probably is not suspecting anything but the question remains, if you have two guys with Italian passports getting on the plane, did they speak Italian? A lot of Iranians do live in Italy. Could they have lived in Italy and learned Italian enough to come across as Italians?

did the people at the desk who looked at their passports have proper training?

More and more airlines are training their staff on profiling. You may not like that but its necessary now. Some people can take one look at you and know where you come from and detect your accent and the region its from and can read your non verbal behaviour. Its a sign of the times, and this incident will once again be used as a training lesson for security measures on screening of passengers. Out of this tragedy will come new understanding on how to prevent this insanity. Its a constant battle to learn and keep up with it.

That's all speculation Rue.

Top priority still has to be searching for the plane or wreckage. As time goes on without finding anything, then I believe the theories will start dominating.

Not sure how much time will have to elapse before this happens?

That's a real shame.

Also shows how lame the conservative government is!

...Once again Harper has proven his vision of Canada is freekin lame and useless!

Attrition such as this is hardly the result of any recent mandate, this has been years in the making. We've seen the shit show that results from the Government trying to procure new military resources... look no further than subs, helicopters and jets for evidence of this.

Another quote from the above MacLeans article:

The decline of Canada’s Navy is far from a recent occurrence. Budget cuts in the late 1990s slashed military funding, just as the Armed Forces deployed boots and boats to fight terror in Afghanistan and the Arabian Sea. By 2005, with the Navy’s resources severely strained, Vice-Admiral Bruce MacLean, then-chief of the maritime staff, warned a Senate committee the Navy faced “an overall trend of decay.” Due to personnel shortages, the Department of National Defence (DND) had already been forced to take the HMCS Huron, one of four Iroquois-class destroyers that had been refitted and modernized, out of service. In 2007, after having been mothballed for seven years, the Navy used the Huron for target practice and a flotilla of Canadian ships pummelled her with artillery off the coast of Vancouver Island until she sank to the bottom of the Pacific.

The fortunes of Canada’s Navy are set to improve, eventually. In 2011, the federal government did announce a massive, $35-billion investment in new warships and support vessels set to roll out over the next three decades. First off the line in 2015, assuming everything stays on schedule, will be the Arctic and offshore patrol ship set to replace the Kingston class. In time, the Navy will build a new supply ship and replacements for its current fleet of destroyers and frigates. However, Canada’s shoddy track record of military procurement, be it ships, fighter jets, helicopters or subs, doesn’t inspire confidence that the new vessels will sail on time.

Agreed, but the Harper government has been in power now for eight years and has done squat to change the focus of the Canadian military towards a more realistic/helpful direction.

There are two Canadians on that plane that have families and friends right here in Canada. Canada needs to be at the table when it comes to aviation safety!

Especially taking into account the geography of Canada and our dependence on foreign trade.(S.Korea free trade deal as an example of increased closer relations!)

Oh don't worry Spiderfish, I'm going to spend some time this afternoon writing an email to my conservative MP Kyle Seeback that I'm not happy with the conservatives lame approach to protecting valuable Canadian interests!

Do you really think it makes more sense for you to make this assertion than to say that Natural News is not credible ?

I pasted the comments made from the writer of the column in question.

But for some reason it was not highlighted (I'm probably doing something wrong).

Anyways, the writer does believe that the search was in the wrong area as being the main reason no evidence is appearing.

Regardless, there are several facts about the black box, the integrity of such, and search procedures.

Lets move on now shall we, I definitely won't be entertaining anymore comments you may have about that site because this is thread drift.

#2-There are other reasons that he doesnt touch, perhaps in a deep crevasse in the ocean limiting the ping being sent

#3-Some parts float, some wont when burnt, or cannot be seen easily. Dark seas, waves...gues you dont get on the water like some of us?

#4-Too stupid to even discuss. He dismisses all that he knows not.

#5-Guess he jumped the gun on this one.

Ok here's the most recent update link I can find from Borneo.

Note the time stamp, it is a full 12hrs ahead there (or something like that).

Starting to look like the tracking devices were deliberately shut off as opposed to mechanical failure, so possibly this plane did land safely.(if the info on the link is correct)

That's my hope anyways, that all aboard are safe.

Either way, this flight is still well on its way into the history books as one of the most oddest in aviation history!

Why would passengers rush the cockpit, shut off any tracking devices, then ditch the plane??? I seriously doubt that anyone but an experienced pilot of this specific plane or a similar one would even know how to do so. The theory that a 20 yr old Iranian kid is capable is a freekin joke!

Keep in mind there are twelve crew members that would have some means of defence.

Find the plane first, until then these questions could very well be the wrong ones.

I'm wondering how often these tracking devices malfunction. Or do they only malfunction on planes that disappear?

Wait and see what emerges in the next few days I guess.

WWWTT

I tend to agree, whoever took over this plane knew what they were up to. Turning off the xponder would be one of the first things I would do and descending to get off as many radar screens as possible would be next. Mind you going low in that airplane would increase the fuel consumption greatly reducing range. That begs the question if whoever had things well planned how did they come to end up in the ocean, or did they? There are so many ways to communicate fro a modern airliner it would take a really serious power failure to kill them all. And then there are such things as ELT's that don't rely at all on a/c power. 'Twill remain a mystery until they find it and with this latest indications the a/c flew on for another 4 or 5 hours makes that search area immense.

Sure, but if it is never found, this flight will join many others in the past. The loss of "Star Dust" in 1947 went unsolved for over 50 years:

Aha. I hadn't thought of that one. I was wondering if maybe it was just a ruse and the airplane is actually somewhere in the Crimea with a load of NATO commandos on board sent in to thwart Putin's attempted takeover.

CBC reporting now that Malaysia has confirmed the flight was hijacked.

Here's the link

According to the link, human intervention is the leading possibility of what could have happened.

I believe this is good news!

Good news for the passengers and their families who must be worried sick and sleepless for the past week.

I sincerely hope the plane safely touched down and that all on board are in good health.

Wow. Planes disappearing are more common than I thought:

Some 83 aircraft have been declared “missing” since 1948, according to data compiled by the Aviation Safety Network. The list includes planes capable of carrying more than 14 passengers and where no trace — bodies or debris — has ever been found.
