  1. Postmedia right leaning?Back when I got the Ottawa Citizen,it seems that just about every day there was a front page story (always negative)about the Conservatives.Very little attention was given to anything negative about the Ontario Liberals.I don't know how many day the front page had the robocalls story(which turned out to be quite overblown). Rebelmedia has stories which often don't appear anywhere else. http://www.therebel.media/
  2. Sorry,as a resident of Ontario,I know that my Hydro One bill will NEVER be lowered no matter how many billions we pour into wind and solar.
  3. Times have changed,I don't think there is as much pressure today for immigrants to get jobs as there was decades ago.
  4. Reefer, that "pile of sludge"out west greatly benefits all Canadians, including you.
  5. Why are Ontario and Quebec, with their diversified economies,have-not provinces?Quebec part of a stabilizing influence?Perhaps in the sense that Quebec consistently makes demands on the rest of the country. The West does have a right to complain in my opinion.
  6. Do you place any blame at all on the Muslim world for the problems in the Middle East or is it entirely the fault of the West?
  7. I think Lorne Gunter sums up Quebec's position very nicely.. http://www.ottawasun.com/2016/01/23/no-oil-quebec-fine-no-equalization-payments Coderre is a huge hypocrite.
  8. This whole case sounds bogus to me.These ladies want the right to not be offended by anyone. On the other hand,if they pursued this through the Human Rights tribunals, they would very likely have won their case.
  9. I don't have much confidence in Justin Trudeau.I truly believe he will be used as a figurehead and the real decisions will be made by Gerald Butts and others from left field.Trudeau will keep doing the things that impress his fans, selfies, yoga, paddling a canoe, things like that.He will pile up a lot more debt than he promised during the election, with little to show for it.
  10. When David Suzuki stops using planes to fly all over Canada and the world in order to sustain his extravagant lifestyle, please let me know ok.Unless I missed something, commercial planes still rely on fossil fuels to fly.
  11. Currently, what electric car on the market today has a range comparable to the average fossil fuel car and can also be recharged in the same time it takes to fill up a normal car?I know electric cars do have a future, but there are some giant obstacles in the way.Range, charging infrastructure, skyrocketing electricity prices etc.
  12. I would say Quebec is sort of like the spoiled child in the country, always demanding more.Usually gets it too.
  13. David Suzuki's field of expertise is in making big money, and he is extremely good at it.
  14. I just watched a Nancy Grace show about this case, and yes I know she has a hard-ass prosecutor mindset.I don't have Netflix so I have not seen this documentary and can't say too much about it.Based on what I saw about this case I think the guy is guilty. It's hard to believe all the stuff about planted evidence alleged by his defenders.
  15. Trump is a billionaire, but we shouldn't forget that Hillary and Bill are also extremely wealthy thanks largely to political connections and their use of capitalism for themselves.
  16. Sanders does speak his mind, but the fact that he calls himself a Socialist should make voters very wary. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism
  17. This is an interesting article by John Robson a while ago.It concerns the fact that CO2 levels were,at times hundreds of millions of years ago, much higher than today's levels with no apparent effect on temperature. http://www.ottawasun.com/2014/01/17/trapped-in-the-vortex-of-climate-chaos
  18. Yes,Ontario could likely have gotten all the electricity we need from Manitoba and Quebec without all of these intermittent forms of energy like wind and solar. But since we have to pay astronomical rates for wind and solar energy, people with the right connections stand to become enormously wealthy. http://www.tomadamsenergy.com/2015/08/20/publicprivate-sunshine/ I see Laura Miller has started a fundraising campaign for her defense and she is already 1/3 of the way to her goal.I wouldn't give her a damn nickel.I wonder how much evidence the OPP has against her......and if it's on hard drives..... Prediction, she and the others will get off.
  19. Sounds like a pretty damn good plan to me according to their own website. http://www.cupw.ca/en/campaigns-and-issues/pensions Let Canada Post support themselves.
  20. How would this story have played out if the board members at this condo spoke english only and refused to speak french? There would have been a national outcry in the mainstream media.
  21. Too much debt scares me,like Greece.Too much debt is not a good thing, just look at Ontario and how much we pay to service our debt, over $11 billion. It's not right to saddle future generations with this burden either.
  22. It could all fall under the category of taxpayer sponsorship.
  23. Some entrepreneurs have borrowed their way to prosperity I'm sure.Which governments in Canada have done the same thing?
  24. This woman you talk about believes that the Syrian refugees are not our problem. Why is that so hard to believe?Did Justin Trudeau not state that he believes the war over there "is not our(Canada's)fight"? My heart does go out to some of these people, but at the same time I also have concerns over security too.Canada has also had one of the highest immigration rates in the world for years under the Conservatives and yet it seems many on the left like to perpetuate the myth that Conservatives are inherently racist.
  25. You seem to admit LeadNow gets foreign funding, and the links I posted do in fact suggest some of these environmental groups in Canada do take foreign funds.
