  1. But Einstein was a determinist too who famously said that he did not believe that God played dice with the universe. Thanks for the awesome link august, I had not read that portion of Einstein's thought. Issac Newton,'s science was directed to proving the existence of God, not denying the existence of God. Not many scientists today, like to admit this though. He felt there was no incompatibility between God and science. IMO, the 1st law of thermodynamics proves what "God" is, in this system at least. An indestructable force, that enlivens all things equally. It is ALL things, in a state of unconditional being, yet not being, as far as the human mind can perceive it. The energy that enlivens all things, cannot be created, nor destroyed, only transformed, truly that is what omniscience, omnipresent, and omnipotent, is, is it not?! Ascribing gender, and human attributes to the term "God", does a great disservice to humanity. It creates an inconsistency in thought and action. For example, we understand as humans, creation of another something, requires 2 gender types, even if it exists in one organism, yet we are expected to believe we were created by a 1 gendered being. Just this one abhorrent misconception, regarding God, has a whole host of other negative societal consequences. It has been postulzated over the ages, by some, those nihilists who believe in the destruction of everything, and being swept up in the rapture, so to speak, actually have no knowledge of, or belief in, what some call God, and are in fact, looking for proof.
  2. Again please do inform yourself the link maxb does not say what you say it does. Here again below, is a link to a graph that shows the temp of the planet going back 1000 years. The anhilists, that would wish the destruction of all in order, in their minds that they be swept up in the rapture, should not be listened to. they do not have anyones best interests at heart, they are too busy residing in a state of delusion of their own granduer. Moreover, the site where the link to the graph belongs to a prominent Republican pundit. Cooking Our Fish Bowl: Climate Change Report Paints Grim Future http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/
  3. Excellent link ty, but I suspect you do not undertsand what it was you were reading, and perhaps you should have read the whole page.
  4. Well, they certainly seem to be being prepared for something, and as a result much nasty rhetoric against Muslims is coming from there. I put nothing past these UR fascists on the right.
  5. We have seen what Harper has done with a minority. A majority of Canadian voters are now comfortable or somewhat comfortable with the thought of a conservative majority. Really gonna try scary-scary-scary again? You are only preaching to the converted with that one now.. Yes, we have saw what Harper has done with a minority, and that is why there will be no spring election, the CPC are stalled and perhaps would lose their minority government even, if an election was called. But good try, Canadians in the majority know what he is up to. http://www.ottawasun.com/News/Columnists/W...12/3991532.html. And please do stay on topic, when you try to deflect away by bringing another topic in, you really are showing how scared you are. The above SES Greg Weston comments say it all, and that is why you are afraid.
  6. Now, for you National Post believers, who have used the National Post to try and bolster you disbelief in Global Warming, need to realize you were lead down a false path. This is the apology from todays' National Post: Smarmy apology, that does not address the truth as Dr Weiss stated it, I hope he sues Can West Global's pants off.
  7. oops forgot to cut it down to size, And yes you are correct Hiti it is a shame, but people must remember, why Harper wants a majority.
  8. Just a minute, shouldn't this government be seen as squeaky clean, not just stealing less than the liberals? Yes, they should, but actually 100 milion is more than they found during ad scam.
  9. Heh, stop broadbrushing a notion that Harper is "our" guy. You geoffery are NOT representative of ALL westerners. Well, you could be able to vote for Mr Manning, or at least support him again soon. http://www.albertapundit.com/?p=1336 Again AB is NOT 'the west' Oh yes, the wst, meaning of course AB, is so hard done by. And even if you do mean BC, you have to be part of the group of 3 that feels this way.
  10. Meet the new boss, he's the same as the old boss. . . We have had not only an investigation by the Auditor General, has everyone forgotten the Gomery Inquiry? What a waste of taxpayers dollars. Ands the CPC are using our money to try and get their own political gain. This will be blowing back upon them big time.
  11. Well , take solace in the fact that there are very very few sexually depraved gays out there. Oh but you should worry about the plentiful sexually depraved heterosexual people out there. IOW, dont create in your mind that which is not there. Nice calm response, I know it must have been difficult when facing such negativity and ugliness. You know this type of hate as stated by leafless is the type of things that is much worse than profanity use here. Hopefully, the site's not at risk for allowing it. guyser, you are quite correct, the real threat to society, women and children, are the heterosexuals that are truly depraved. I have absolutely nothing to fear from a homosexual person, but I certainly do from heterosexuals, who are depraved. And how many homosexuals do you see dragging their pregnant spouse out of their office by the hair and then killing them? How many homosexuals do we see beating someone to death because they are heterosexual?
  12. ... Tory critics are accusing Harper of trying to quietly scrap the registry since he can't do it by legislation. The reason they can't do it by legislation is they are a minority government, and do not have the votes to scrap it. But they can extend the exemption on long gun owners, which gives the Tories another year to win a majority and then end the registry. It's not even close to a flip flop, did you read the whole link? Of course, I did, I just wanted this type of response, to point out to people, that yes, indeed, the CPC do have a hidden agenda and are waiting to try to get a majority. This is in face of the reality, that any majority they would get, would not be of the majority of Canadians will. FPTP's time is over. So you convict them for not scrapping the registry and then criticize them for doing it if and when they have a mandate? Right. At any rate, your flip flop comment is nonsense, and your following remarks about wanting a certain type of response prove it. I never said a word about flip flop, I right out called them liars.

  15. I feel bad for the charities that no longer get her MP's wage. All the best Belinda, please do come back someday.
  16. Yes such as nastily mocking Ann Coulters appearance in a thread. Wholesale condemnation of a political party as seen many times in this forum. The smearing of a small group of scientists who are skeptics on the Global Warming front. Many more examples I can say can be found in this forum and in the world. Actually, I was speaking of the rampent untruths and hate expressed towards/about "brown" people issued by many here.
  17. Thought they were going to scrap it? Apparently, another lie. The police forces like it, perhaps that is why they are not?
  18. The use of profanity in this forum, is slight. What is the real problem, is the spreading of hate and bigotry that goes unchecked.
  19. What were those freedoms we once had, that you speak of? Besides none? How do you know they are low lifes? If some old guy in a turban is in Canada, it is not likely he just came off the boat. Your racial bigotry is evident, and full of hate. Your dime? It is doubtful, you sound like a teenager that has never lived away from home until recently.
  20. Excellent post, I have bolded the parts I felt really need thinking about by some. The is an very good book I am currently reading called "American Facscists: The Christian Right and The War on America" by Chris Hedges. It addresses those who say they are doing things in the name of Jesus quite clearly and the xenophobia that is inherent with them. Perhaps it is worth a thread of its own though. But it is well worth the read if people are interested in counteracting the "Christian" fascists of today.
  21. Anybody else have any more... Yes, does anyone have anymore, such a good question, as the CPC lies and nasties need to be further exposed and they need to be called to account. It is unacceptable and Canadians who know are NOT impressed at all. Trying to depict others as whining when they are taking the CPC to account, is an amazingly shallow thing to do.
  22. I recognized that real money needed to be invested into Hemp and stated that as a priority. Again, Hemp for Jute and fibres does need fertilizers, the Hemp plantations for example of; Ben Franklyn's, and the prairie farmers of the homestead days did not use fertilizers, herbicides, nor pesticides, for their Hemp. Maybe some cow manure in the broken fields but that is it. By people increasing pressure to provide environmentally friendly industry it will grow and thereby be a suppliment to farmer's incomes. And the products from hemp growth can move into several areas. Cotton production is to hard on the earth and other natural fibres need to be utlized in its place. And that would either be increased flax, or hemp production, or both. Once the fibres from hemp are utilized for textiles, tarps, or ropes, the cellulose can be used for paper production. This is a valuable non-acidic paper whose source is completely re-newable every year. The plants themselves not only save trees, they create CO2 sinks, thereby doubling CO2 absorbtion capabilities of the eco-system. Paper wrapping needs to start replacing plastic wrap. Seeds that are not needed for the farmer for next year's crops can be sold for either bird seed or human consumption, either whole or in oil form. The fine roots systems of Hemp replentish marginal or sandy soil, and the top soil layer, plus provide wind breaks. Plastics made from vegtable oils are not biodegrable any more than fossil fuel plastics are. Olive oil is by far superior to canola oil anyday, say nothing of the genetically modified nature of it.
