Royal Canadian Navy doesn't need new ships
M.Dancer replied to Thorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That doesn't address China's blue sea ambitions...or the reason why they wish to project the kind of power an aircraft carrier exerts...nor will that comfort India and Pakistan (and Tibet) who have come to arms with China. Now I suppose for the myopic, the only reason to have a navy is to thwart an invasion...again, that is a moo point -
Of course they are. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/16/paul-zings-rivals-in-new-ad/ http://piersmorgan.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/16/clips-from-last-night-mark-sanford-on-the-tea-party-rep-ron-paul-on-democrats/?hpt=pm_mid http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/2011/08/16/could-christie-palin-paul-ryan-still-jump-gop-race http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/08/12/power-play-live-video-ron-paul-i-think-were-gonna-do-well-1

Correct. Canada does, most of the world does not. Even Iceland doesn't have a cold water navy. -
the biggest protest you rarely see in the western media

What do you mean, rarely seen in western media? -
Royal Canadian Navy doesn't need new ships
M.Dancer replied to Thorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There isn't really any need for most of the world to project force north of Iceland. -

Okay, no they don't. Most navies have no need to venture into the north or south poles. -

Maybe you would rather explain then who you were referring to: -

Does that mean you are retracting your statement about mothballing fleets? -

No I haven't noticed anyone mothballing their fleets. The british are adding 9 new vessels...the US is adding newer Aircraft carriers, destroyers...the Chinese are conducting sea trials on their first aircraft carrier... Was it in a dream this idea came to you? -

More powerful, perhaps, more versatile, not a chance. -

They won't be decommissioning the average...they will decommission the oldest. In the case of destroyers...that 20 years old while the frigates are over 30 years. -

So outdated ships that our allies deem unworthy?
