Federal Budget 2007: More & Still More Government
Catchme replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is a link between taxes and fertility and that link is intelligence+education. There is a strong causal relationship between smarts and fertility and a strong relationship going both ways between smarts and taxes. Pardon my lack of PC but what WD is saying is that reducing taxes will cause people to lose their brains which in turn will cause them to procreate more. While policy can make the population less smart overall, this will take decades to achieve. Dropping taxes to 0 in the EU will not cause birthrates there to increase to third world levels - not in my lifetime anyway. Exactly saturn, -

You are correct Hiti, and how some are saying shouldn't the people getting shafted who have no families, really be interested in the greater good of those who do, is absolute BS, if people cannot afford to have children, why should those who do not support them? They should not, I say; "have kids in the amount you can afford, and leave my money alone thank you very much." ----------------------------------------------- Jdobbin, you will not get a citation regarding the comments about the USA have the only stable birth rates and lower income taxes, because it is not true. Plus they pay more for health care and millions have no coverage. -
O'Connor sorry for misinforming House
Catchme replied to stignasty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
O'Connor's apology means nothing, it was not refreshing, he is trying to squirm/slither away from his lying in the House of Commons to other MP, and to Canadians and breaking a signed agreement, plus the Geneva convention? Plus who knows what else? If this was the Liberal government MP who did this, the apologists here who are praising this bogus action would be screaming blue murder. And what about Afghans that have been mistreated, as his lies are not just hurting Candian military personel, if in fact they are at all? -
Federal Budget 2007: More & Still More Government

Okay, let's see: NFLDLB is furious, as is Sask. BC Liberals, NEE Conservatives, are frothing at the mouth and stating Harper betrayed his promises to them. So he has burned his bridges in 3 provinces, to trade, or attempt to trade, for more Ontario and Quebce voters, but the cities in both provinces are furious as there is nothing for housing. It will remain to be seen just how much, or how little, he will pick up in actual fact. Environmentalists, health care professionals, students and First Nations are equally as furious. Single people and couples without children are teed right off that they are going to get hit. The senors it is touted to help, unless they are a couple, with one partner making significant pensions, it will not help at all. The 2 year RRSP deferral means nothing. So families with 6 kids it will benefit hugely. I guess they want to pay people to have babies. The families with disabled children with be able to save up to 200k per year for their childs future needs, as if families with disabled children have any savings of that type, so there is nothing it for them or their children! Not much in there for Atlantic Canada either, so it means nothing too much to them, where the CPC could shore up their decline of 12%. Alberta working singles and couples without children, or whose children are over 18 are going to be dinged heavily as the promise to change income tax rate levels did not happen. He is also giving AB money to PQ and Ontario not a formula to make many Albertans happy. There was no money designated to trade skills development, that are direly needed and requested by small and medium business. So they are out of the equation to support Harper, the supposed 750k capital gains means nothing to them if they have no workers. So just who is going to vote for Harper and the CPC? The religious right and especially those with massive amounts of kids, those who are connected to the Oil patch and have income derived from there, rich seniors, and Quebec separatists, maybe, that is even in doubt. -
The budget sucked, they gave money back to programs they cut, they have teed off NFLDLB and Sask. As well as FN's. They gave money to Oil and corporations, there is no way there is a 750k earning capital gains for small business.

This not good enough! He lied to the Members of Parliament, and to Canadians. O'Connor apologizes for misleading the House on Afghan detainees O'Connor Lies but apologizes for misleading Canadians only! Where is CPC accountability again?

The Holy Books: Are they scientifically holy?
Catchme replied to Adel's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Adel the Hopi and other aboriginal peoples, and other cultures also have the creation myths in their oral histories. Many, if not ALL, also had a God(s) to explain the unknown, or the unknowable. And what butressed this creator myth may have been incidental recounting of histories, or portioons of, from earlier times. Again, people wrote the works you are speaking of based upon who knows what, maybe prophecy, intuitive grasp, or hidden knowledge. And after all what is Holy? Because there is no such man as Jesus that has been proven to exist, you cannot leave that fact out of this discussion, as you are speaking of validity of Books that contain beliefs in mythology, or passed down history. -
The Holy Books: Are they scientifically holy?
Catchme replied to Adel's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Well then, surely you can see they are speaking of evolution if they knew every living thing came from water eh! writings of prophets say, are just that documented notes about what a person said. Now whether those persons had access to even more ancient writings is most likely a reality. Also, there has never been proven there was a man Jesus. Christ means to be annoited with knowledge. -
Tory Spy of Dion Caught on Video
Catchme replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Liberal party president doesn't work for the House of Commons. Try to get things straight. Party worker is not the same as government worker. What next? Getting the RCMP to throw the election? They already did that too! You can bet if the Liberals ever did this, there would have been CPC and their apologists screaming from the roof tops about abuse of tax payer dollars by the government for personal partisanship gains. -

How dare they use tax payers money to do this? Accountability is getting ever lower. Are we living in a dictatorship now where they think tax money is their money? -

So, Mr James Murray, is an employee of ours, that we the taxpayer pay for, who would've been getting paid last Thursaday March 15 by us, a work day, to spy on Stephane Dion. This is ugly, corrupt, evil and perhaps sociopathic of them not to realize how wrong this is. And on so many levels. -
Good for daily Kos for trying to get advertisers to stop supporting Coulter, but this is about neo-cons being tied to world herion dealing, what do you have to say about that?

Nor am I surprised, a lot more will bleed off now as well, along with those who left/will leave because of her support of Stelmach's nothing Green measures and May's coming clean as a non-progressive and a non-feminist. One wonders if that is why Briony left, in fact? I would not doubt it for one moment, as Briony, from what I know of her, does not speak out of both sides of her mouth, unlike May. Now really it is going to be interesting to see what the NDP, do, either they will run Alexis, or there will be a nobody name on the ballot and leave May sink as a national party leader when she loses to MacKay. It would seem that there is no Green Party strategists and May thinks she owns it and can do what she likes. Parachuting May into this riding has nothing more attached to it than stupidity and malice IMV. The Greens got what 1.5% of the votes last election in this riding. The Liberals came in third, and most likely will NOT be running a candidate there. The brilliant strategists who thought this up most likely have given Mackay the seat back, instead of putting May anywhere near getting the seat. So the Greens have yet again served their lord and masters who desire to split the left vote. It is quite clear the Greens are only in existence to this. One must applaud Briony on her smart move and her clear sited knowing that the Greens have no legitimacy.

Interesting people the neo-cons tied to Harper and the CPC. And again what are our military really doing in Afghanistan? http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/3/15/3443/17668

Interesting, Briony Penn, prominent Green Party member, has left the party to run as a Liberal in BC, and E May herself is running in Central Nova apparently with the help of the Liberal Party, so it would seem voting Green is now really voting Liberal. Super bacteria = evolving beyond what was to gain resistance Virus = mutation = evolving to something else. Adel over looked on purpose perhaps, the exposing of what Pastuer was studying, apparently not convienant to her mythological beliefs.

We pay while Indians live in luxury
Catchme replied to geoffrey's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I pay my taxes. If you need money the welfare system is there for you. Please enlighten me to all these Govt. and "whitey" owned casinos, and don't say Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know to only go to them. 50% of FN live off reserve paying the same taxes you and I do. All of BC's 20+ casinos are owned by companies and none are, as of yet FN. I know of no FN's casinos in Sask or Alberta either. Postit covered the equality point quite nicely. -

Hey who is doing what, I need some money going to give me some? Of course not, bit unreasonable to think you would, eh? What about casinos whitey's own, eh? Feel the same way about government run Casinos? They are equal they just need to have their contracts recognized, and their rights as nations within a nation. -

Excellent post, you are quite correct FN's were NOT humans until the 1950's. That they have come so far in 50 years is amazing. Then there is all these misconceptions and lies being fostered to again try to cheat FN's out of their land and the money lost from resource extraction and from a bloated Aboriginal Affiars that took resources that should have been theirs. People seem to have this idea that ALL FN's are 1 nation, they are not. For example, just because one band has casinos it does not me alll have a share in that money. Apparently some also think, that because they read somewhere that some FN's thought lying was a good thing, they think all do. A lie in itself to support their xenophobia. Much like the lie they were savages. -
Oh yes, that is the first thing everyone thinks of when they see the Canadian Flag! Not. More like the Red Cross or Swiss. Now take the initials CPCm every time I see it used, I automatically think of the Communist Party of Canada.

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/03/13/...ier-beaten.html Again with your gratuitous smears Can blue, please refrain from so lowering the tone and content of this forum. Also, I never stuck up for anyone, I did however tell you that your correspondance was not the boards business and to simply report rather than put commentary against others that is unsubstantiated and of no use in the thread.

The onus would be upon BOTH parties Canblue. Canada could break the contract that keeps us propping up Karzi's corrupt government, as the Afghan government may have broken its side of the agreement, if it has tortured and disappeared people, which it appears to have done. However, the Canadian military, and indeed Canadians, can still be charged with war crimes for breaking the 3rd Geneva Convention, as outlined in Our contract with the Afghan governmentt and further outlined in the the signed contract's citing of the 3rd Geneva Convention. Individual military personnel's cupability was also quite clearly spelled out in the results of the inquiry after Rwanda, that lead to disbanding an entire regiment, just in case there were some in the military who did not get the 3rd Geneva Convention requirements, that came about as the result of the Holocaust. We certainly do not need to go over alll of this again, as there are entire threads fillled with it that are only a couple of months old. You are not sure of anything Canblue, and you never have been ,you made a similar comment on the last page and were gain proven wrong about my knowing. Why do you insist on talk such as this? Trying to defame the poster as opposed to discussing the topic at hand, really diminishes any authority and validity regarding anything you say, which is unfortunate, as sometimes you do have something worth hearing/reading. I mean after all why should anyone care what you are growing tired of, for example? We could all end our sentences with I grow tired of this or that, as I am sure we all do, but to what end? Waste space? It means absolutely nothing other than illuminating poor debating skills, and an overly emotional personality that is focused upon self. As such, if you ever use that type of emotional personal commentary about a poster, in debate with me, henceforth, I will disregard any commentary you may have put as being nothing worth responding to.

Oh Catchme, when will you open your mind? Think of it this way. If energy cannot be created through physics, it's initial creation would have had to have happened outside of the laws of physics. Unless the universe was never created, and just always 'was'. I think that's a much harder theological or philosophical position to defend from either perspective. Do not think it is my mind that needs opening tyvm! Moreover, clearly I did not state any held position.
