  1. In the Conservative dictionary the definition of "scam" is the Liberals breaking the law and the definition of "accountability" is the Conservatives breaking the law. In my dictionary this is the definition of "double standard" and "hypocrisy". One really does notice when the CPC base are upset, the personal attacks come out full force. You are quite correct in your assesment saturn, just because they they told everyone they were trying to scam their donations they think somehow they are not scamming? And here they are even telling a lie with insisting they told so they couldn't have been scammming. That is hilarious, for a year they insisted they did nothing wrong, now of course they have had to admit to it finally. Even though they are trying hard not too. It won't wash with the Canadian electorate, we expected better and deserve better than, CPC=Liberal and Liberal=CPC with corruption running front and centre with both of em.
  2. I read the thread, and I don't believe anything said can be construed as what you are posting. You can continue your "war" of words with whomever, but nobody in the Canadian Military is going to think of themselves as Slaves, without conscription or other forced service. Your're quite correct madmax I never said a word about Canada's military being slaves who are penalized, I have no idea how wilbur got to such a point, other than perhaps willful misconstruing in order to support the fallacious notion that forcing people into the miilitary is not slavery, press gangs were and this type of action would be the same thing. Yes, let's blame the poor because they are poor! Not a well thought out attack.
  3. Are you kidding? No I do not suppose you are, however social issues determine what a vast majority ofpeople vote for, like health care accessability, equality issues, environment and believe me the imapct upon everyones life.
  4. Uh, that would either amount to conscription, or slavery. And just what should we do with the white collar trough feeders who get billions in corporate welfare? Poor bashing is NEVR the answer!
  5. Who are these *progressives* in you opinion? How have you defined them? What percentage of the electorate do they make up? Most importantly, how did they vote in January? In order, though it is a tad off topic, but for the interest of speaking from the same page on what means what I will answer: Progressives = Environmental concerns are a priority, equality rights are not up for debate and are a priority to acheive, woman's right to self determination is not up for debate on any level, good governance that is responsible to the people it represents, misogyny, racism and bigotry are societal ills that need to be addressed, anti-war, and I suppose in this day and age electoral reform when combined with the above. At least 50% Bloque, Liberal, NDP and Green.
  6. You quoted an opinion of someones, that the vast majority were in the middle, so what contradiction are you speaking of? An opinion of the "mushy middles" opinion? Plus, there is NO "mushy middle" on the matter of rights with progressives.
  7. You believe this issue with Elections Canada is at the same *level* as Adscam? Is it difficult living in a world that is totally black and white? Actually seeing as how it is 2 million more than adscam it is actually more serious, the fact that the CPC tried to cover it, and then tried to change laws so they weren't breaking laws, says even more. There is no gray area when it comes to political party corruption, there is NO parking ticket kinda stuff as opposed to "other" when we are speaking of millions of dollars, particularily when Harper et al campaigned on "accountability" and ethics. They did not even get elected before they showed their true colours. Any laughter coming from the CPC sounds a bit panic stricken IMO.
  8. Si is that a yes the Greens are trying to move into CPC territory? I am not sure, from what May said, if I know what she stands for, what do you think she does?
  9. I find diverting away from the dishonesty and illegal actions of the CPC to be the usual CPC hypocrisy. The Liberals, which I am not, did not have to try to bring the CPC down to their level, they , the CPC, did that all by themselves.
  10. Though Elizabeth May lost her seat bid in the recent London North by-election, her campaigning showed that perhaps the Green Party are trying to move into the CPC camp to steal votes from the social -conservatives. As they have certainly stepped out of the "progressive veneer" they had adopted. One wonders though if there are enough social -conservatives that believe in environmental issues to make it worth their while? Because Progressives will be leaving the Green Party in droves. http://tinyurl.com/t8xal http://www.breadnroses.ca/forums/viewtopic...t=19154&start=0 http://blog.greenparty.ca/en/node/406#comment
  11. Yes, you're absolutely correct, and the more vitriolic they are, the more we know they are trying to defend the indefensible.
  12. Not sure why, all of a sudden, you're trying to deflect topic away from the CPC's scams and onto me, but a most simple propaganda tool such as that is quite obvious, and indeed indicates the lack of position that is held when one makes an equivalency of 3.5 million to a parking tickert. Nor am I sure what your intent is with saying that English is a 2nd or 3rd language for me. As my use of "attempted scamming" is quite correct. Though your presumption is not. Scam = Main Entry: 1scam Pronunciation: 'skam Function: noun Etymology: origin unknown : a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation
  13. What I get a kick on is people who have made it perfectly clear they have no problem with open corruption, blatant lies, theft, mismanagement, and the use of federal police to intimidate political opposition suddenly acting aghast because the Tories did the political equivalent of getting a parking ticket. See, you just gave a perfect example, minimizing the attempted scamming of 3.5 million dollars, 2.1 million more than the Liberals were accused of, into a parking ticket type of offense.
  14. And yet Conservatives brush it aside as being nothing. I'd have been more impressed if they had said immediately that it was a mistake and paid it back. Instead they deny it was against the law and try to change the law they violated. Yes, the the Con base pushes it aside as if it were nothing, must be pretty hard for them to face the fact the party they supported beat the Liberals in money scams before they even entered office. Or it shows their complete hypocrisy. Factors on why it is a big deal that they are trying to cover up: 1. Release of the information timing 2. The fact they tried to change the laws they violated 3. The fact they are trying to discount those who are taking exception to the corruption
