  1. There is no organized opposition to the regime A military coup d'état is the most likely at some point........... top Generals taken out by subordinates. Rhetoric of Democracy quiets the children, domestic and international During this dwell period, ANY opposition is taken out Authoritarian government re-emerges. Iran is too important regionally to fall to something even remotely like a democracy. A military coup de eta is very likely
  2. ............. sounds like a usurping the U.N. mandate. Remember the U.N.??
  3. The next leader of Iran is chosen by the Assembly of Experts - their is no heir apparent Mojtaba Khamenei, Sadiq Larijani and Hassan Khomeini are in contention The current Supreme Leader has selected 3 senior clerics as likely successors to ensure regime stability......? Civil War?
  4. When Ukraine dreams in technicolor, they dream of victory - total victory. A ceasefire is far more realistic, they know it and that is what their negotiation stance seems to be. Unfortunately, they've been overtaken by recent geo-political events. Unless the West floods the zone with weapons that have reach. .... giving Ukraine the ability to negotiate with some strength. Ukraine likely regrets putting their trust in the hands of transient, hack politicians. The flood gates of geo-conquest are on the verge of opening........ NK, Taiwan, Baltic States, Ukraine, Caucasus .......... but who's counting, you'll scare the children.
  5. ............. Khamenei's successor? I believe in this case that falls into the realm of, 'better the Devil ya know"
  6. ........... haha .............. the rumor is that Pravda sales are brisk in Russia. It does show a Nation in decline to some degree.................... it's seen in other nations and we shake our heads, 'not here'. Well, it's here.
  7. That's all you've got! That and the court of public opinion To condone it would have been worse in the long run. There is some degree of satisfaction ......... the degree depends on the individual. ............ arguably flaying could be considered.
  8. Condemnation is a precedent ........ definitely have some impact on political decisions going forward. Of course the opposite is also true ............... a slippery slope in precedent as well.
  9. What's the threat? Ever heard of the 'nose of the camel' Canada (or the U.S.) will never be able to compete with Chinese manufacturing economics. It IS good news for the consumer - no question - cheap, quality E.V. It is bad for Canadian auto production (jobs) but especially those spin off numbers. China will always have the whip hand - product cost dictates that the vehicles must be assembled / manufactured in Asia. China does want the market - but for them the politics is what really matters ......... political clout - ur seeing it demonstrated with Carney recently.
  10. .......... does this mean a reduction in Latvia? Oh, Canada!
  11. ......... the thing is, China is watching how the West performs with those countries managing 1/5 as many people - no thanks. China will hoist the West on its own petards...Congress, hack politicians, so-called freedoms, Constitution, liberalism, racism, culturalism, ideology ........... endless. OMG - ya have to wonder what the ChiComs thought of a Presidential candidate supporting 'defund the police'. Defund the POLICE????
  12. .......... yeah, happened in Germany after the crash - I think they called it inflation.
  13. .................. "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." / never more true than today. The USSR's economy did lead to its collapse
  14. ......... arguably what is more embarrassing is TT is the man who thought Kamala should be president-ess? Talk about being tied to an anchor.
  15. I suppose there is always a degree of economic slop built into anything regulated, overseen, legislated by government. It is what hacks do. The question is likely to what degree of slop, who benefits in terms of the political and national interest. Everyone and that includes China, understands so-called, 'soft power'. Difficult to define - but it is real. ooooops ......... forgot to mention the humanitarian factor.
  16. CBC - are Canadian's paid to listen? Akin to a Toronto Blue Jays game - hot dogs are precooked in terms of number.
  17. ........one thing is absolutely certain - China will exploit any global power vacuum with skill, ruthlessness and most important, long term strategies. How odd to have an authoritative regime that in terms of providing for it's citizens of 1.5 BILLION, is to be (to some degree) applauded. That said, they are the enemy ......... love to see the 16th five-year-plan strategy.
  18. Don Lemon - the name is apropos - lemon being a fruit and sour.
  19. ........... suppose the silver lining is that the use of what is deemed excessive force raises legitimacy problems, political problems? Be grateful for that.
  20. I'm sure you would agree that in a moral corrupt World, the only real and final sin is ignorance or being naive? Ignorance and being naive are pure oxygen for hacks - look at Congress before, now and forever? OMG
  21. It has been said that 50 miles outside Beijing, China is 3rd world? However, even if that is true (it isn't) ................. 600 million are living pretty good.
