................. lets compromise and say that while the electorate do agree with the deportations, the Left is doing a great job of spinning the actions of ICE. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it's x10 for edited vid. Impossible to quantify how ICE actions will translate politically ............. but I'd advise ICE to not let themselves be punked so easily and to try and get off their back foot.

.......... supposedly Bobby Kennedy jr. believes that to build, 'herd immunity' it is necessary for 'a' disease to run rampant through a society. Those that survive are the winners for 'that' exposure ......... but maybe not the next flavor In theory he is correct. An acquaintance' kid was vaccinated at a young age that left him severely handicapped. A nation that has left itself susceptible to disease thru the practice of discriminating against vax in various ways is introducing a threat to national security. ..................... x10 considering the military. NBC is a real threat - Covid was a precursor. giggle n chuckles? Bio-weapons were extremely useful depopulating the west of indigenous ......... but my fav was how the Spanish used it to conquer the Mayan - Inca

......... an overwhelming percentage of the population disapprove of ICE. What really matters at this point is retaining the House. The optics are going south - the perception.

Orange man of European descent to save Europe?
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in The Rest of the World
When the U.S. entered the war in 1941 the Brits had been 'at it' for several years....... alone. What likely saved GB was (2) events, Pearl and the German's decision to attack Russia. It was many months, from 1941, before the industrial might of the U.S. was felt in Europe - prepping for the main event, D-day (Italy notwithstanding) It should be remembered that the U.S. was literally engaged in a (2) front war .......... and in the Pacific it was over a ginormous area...........naval, island hopping offense. Midway was absolutely a crucial victory. ... Japan was on it's back after that. GB had their Dominions (BCATP) ..... and they also had the moat separating them from the continent. It has been speculated that IF Japan had not committed suicide, England would not have been defeated, per se. The big winner would have been Russia which would have eventually occupied the entire continent. The USSR (Warsaw Pact) would have been on steroids - world conquest would have been in their grasp - fission bangers notwithstanding. The big winner, post WWII, in terms of clout, economics, and geo-politics was the U.S. ........... no question. The 1940s, 50' was a time of incredible economic growth. The U.S. rebuilt Europe (Japan) and global free trade was the vehicle of choice - call it democracy? The U.S. was staunchly isolationist (Congress) post WWI - FDR clearly saw that a country with the global potential of the U.S. could never maintain that stance - FDR is the giant upon whose shoulders the present U.S. stands. That said, it was Pearl that delivered a dose of reality. Believe post Pearl even Henry Ford and Lucky Lindy put their fascist attire back into the closet. -

I would agree that if the U.S. is in decline it will be eaten last and likely from within. -

........... show me a successful populist and I'll show you an individual who's gifted generating the emotion of fear. Fear, (love not in the abstract notwithstanding), is the greatest of emotions. -

I'd agree that the President should stick to the script. On the other hand people listen to Trump for how he describes things rather than the 'what'. (substance). Playing the Devil's Advocate - he is not an inspirational speaker or motivator - far from it - he's extremely weak describing detail - but his nuance comes across, crude and clear. . haha -

The uncertainty over Greenland persists ........nothing settled. President Trump has tested the water so to speak - he remains undaunted. ............ the uncertainty hangs over Greenland ... NATO ...........Europe like the Sword of Damocles. Ditto Kanada. -

yeah, Justin is an idealist . Carney is a realist. -
I've never believed the U.S. ability to project power was 100 percent routed in a concern for humanity. haha I don't condemn it at all, on the contrary, that ability has allowed the U.S. to be the global economic power that it has become.............. Global instability, hegemony by hostile Nations, war ......... disrupts international trade ....... specifically sea routes. Russia desire is to dominate Europe China desires to dominate Asia (for a beginning) The U.S. desires to dominate the West............. it's doing that now and has been doing it since post wwII - Marshal Plan. Arguably one of China's biggest concern is the Malacca Strait - and the USN ability to project power - but the ChiCom shipyards are busy If it is possible - Taiwan will be even less secure when the ChiCom can secure this waterway.

....... most would agree that the world is likely on the verge of great changes - generational changes. If these changes come to pass and as history reflects these changes will be the squibs. Like water flowing over a smooth cement floor the direction and flow is very uncertain. Who would argue that the West is sowing the wind. Might be a very rough ride ............................. for the next generation. -

How to initiate WWIII in three easy steps
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
In the 'new' World order it is likely (??) the power will be with 3 players; China, U.S., Russia Let us put the U.N. / General Assembly / Security Council aside for a moment. Arguably China and Russia are forging closer ties. In terms of strategy and from a position of strength (economic/military) u really only want 2 chairs on the stage. Nixon had the right idea - but it became something on steroids yeah, ya gotta be a skilled/ experienced player in the World of geo-politics / hegemony -
The difficulty with foreign policy crafted by old men is that they won't be around to reap the benefits of what they crafted. There is no doubt Trump is sowing the wind (throwing the dice) - the question is to what effect. Global instability does not work for an economic giant like the U.S. Global instability and withdrawal leaves a geo-vacuum, but not for long................ never for long.

............... if there is disappointment with some disgruntled individuals, don't blame Trump and arguably don't blame those that supported him to a 2nd term ............. the Lion's portion of blame lies with the Left, the DNC machine, the hubris they exhibited - the confidence and arrogance, the conspiracy in convincing Biden to encore until it was too late for them and definitely for Harris. Liberalism was on steroids with Biden - the U.S. was losing it's identity - the Left's reaction? Bupkis! The most controversial issue of the 2024 General, and the issue that ushered in Trump for a second term (3rd) was the contentious issue of the southern border. Harris' statement when challenged if her Administration would change anything? "nothing'. Oh, indeed ......... the Left lost and lost huge! Have they learned? No ........ the Party rump is still running the shop - tail wagging the dog, indeed.

Reza Pahlavi? OMG! In 1953 the CIA orchestrated a coup of Iran's democratically elected prime minister Mohammad Mossadegh .... which ushered in Shah Reza Pahlavi - the power behind the throne was big oil. The Shah of Iran's police force (SAVAK) was a secret police and intelligence service est. during the reign of Shah Reza Pahlavi. SAVAK was responsible for protecting the Shah's regime and they leaned into it, suppressing dissent through surveillance, torture and imprisonment of political opponents. Notorious for using brutal tactics - which contributed to the climate of fear that fueled widespread discontent that led to the Iranian Revolution. Of course their was ur garden variety corruption, wealth inequity and foreign exploitation.

More than two-thirds of Canadian adults aged 18 to 79 are considered overweight. The health of the next generation will likely be influenced by the health behaviour of the current generation. Likely diet, lack of exercise and complacent attitudes have some effect on the ever increasing demands placed on health care. diabetes, cancer, heart disease, stroke ....etc, etc, are all linked to obesity.

Margaret Thatcher vs Hillary Rodham Clinton: Glass Ceiling
John Stone replied to August1991's topic in Sex and Gender Issues
Churchill was arguably the greatest leader of the 20th century. For several years it was Great Britain (Dominions a nod) who stood in defense of the free world. There is no doubt that GB was in an existential struggle. What is astonishing is how Winston rose to don this mantle. ........ political rebel, Boer War Vet, Gallipoli campaign disaster, WWI trench rat - survived, war monger, Prime Minister of GB WWII. The government of the day, pre Churchill, were tilting in favor of negotiating with the Nazi (Lord Halifax) Churchill defines a leader that leads in times of great National strife. .......... he was famous for his quote, 'better to jaw-jaw than war-war'. Ironic then that he was instrumental in the strategy of attacking Russia immediately following WWII. ............ in the general election immediately following VE day, the electorate threw him out of power. Too scary .......... or too realistic in recognizing the threat? -
