  1. Your prediction in the second paragraph is why I say that you are a doomsday theorist. In short, you think that it is all going to crumble and dissolve into chaos simply because women are in politics and their votes are more influential now.
  2. The worst manager that I ever dealt with was a man. Not even close. It was at a Wal-mart in Boise, ID. Our job was unloading trucks. On a given day, we unloaded 4,000 pieces of loose freight. No shrink wrapped pallets where the product was organized by size or anything like that. And we had four hours to do it... With a crew of 4 to 6 people... you have to be moving. Especially considering that you had only one person in the truck throwing stuff on to the belt. The other 3 to 5 would arrange by SKU and then put it away in storage. Well, our lovely manager was always giving us the "we need more sense of urgency" talk. I always wanted to tell him that I burned more calories walking in the door than he did all day. He never realized how lucky he was to have a crew of minimum wage (or very close to it) workers who would/could unload 4.000 pieces of loose freight in 4 hours.
  3. The reality that women are going to be more involved in politics and in daily life than in the past. I am of the opinion that this current reality (where women are more involved in politics and they sway political races more) is not going to stop and inevitably will continue.
  4. this story is much the same as what you see in the Western US from 2018 to mid 2022.. Rising prices, wages not keeping up, and outsiders/real estate speculation driving up the price. I bought my house for 128K in 2013 and now could easily sell it for 450K
  5. Just to clear the air.. I am mostly indifferent on the topic of COVID now that it is mostly in the past. Our last governor, Sisolak, was simply in over his head. I know that you will make it about being liberal and such. That's fine. However, the objective view (which I have because I worked for him) is that he was simply not prepared. On a day to day basis, he was largely disorganized and inconsistent.
  6. The realities that you lay out are the product of technology, the internet, greater economic fortunes, and therefore a more comfortable, easier existence. Do you honestly think that technology is going to cease moving forward? Is it going to become less important in the lives of the current population? If so.. can you give some actual data to back up this seemingly preposterous belief?
  7. I can't speak about Hollywood but when it comes to music.. it is ok to not be hard left. Examples are Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, All That Remains, and Trapt. The latter are heavy metal bands fronted by singers who are openly conservative. Now do these represent the top 1% of the industry.. no. However, you can be profitable and relevant in rock music if you are not adamantly leftist.
  8. Probably. What is the most comical is how we get these requests for very granular information... black unemployment rate in Humboldt County, NV... Just think about that for a second. The black population in this very rural county is 100 at most. Being that unemployment rate data is based on a statistical model (not a count).... it will have a margin of error of 100%.. not useful in the least.
  9. So it started with my stating this reality is here to stay and will continue. Are you in agreement at this point? I am of the opinion that this is inevitable given the rise of technology, the internet, and increased economic fortunes. Furthermore, railing against it is pointless. Holding on to the past and trying to fight this change in the social fabric is one living in a utopian fantasy. I can want a world where 8-track tapes are the dominant medium in music.. but it is not and nothing is going to change that. Clear? Or is your zealousness getting in the way.
  10. Angered? Wow, you are quite the comedian. You conveniently did not address that how I stated this was going to continue. The word, continue, meaning in the future or gasp!... prediction.
  11. Typical internet forum poster... always conveniently leaving out stuff. My post that started this stated in short.. it has been happening and will continue to keep occurring. You leave that last bit.. I know why. So in short, you are not talking about the same thing as I am. However, keep creating diatribes.. there has to something for you to do.
  12. I can't blame him or at least at first. The situation was so new and so unprecedented. No instruction manuals for things like this. However, after things settled down by mid-2021.. it should have been clear as to how to navigate this. We set a record for number of unemployment insurance claims at any time in US History (490K in one week) and instead of approving the funding for just a few more staff... he vetoed them all and then wondered why the backlog was so incredible.
  13. The businesses would adapt to one way and then the next week.. would shift gears. From there, they would get warnings, fines, mandates, etc. There is more to this story but can't put it out on a public forum.
  14. For your scenario, I would hire the white We recently had to do a very lengthy recruitment for two economist positions. In the past, if we had the recruitment out for a week.. we would more than meet our quota of 5 applicants. Well, this time.. it took 14 months and we only got to 4. Of those 4.. two were hispanic, one was black and the last one was White/asian/not sure. There were people chiming in about we are "woke" and this was affirmative action. Funny how there is absolutely no barrier to white folks applying.. and yet they did not. Is this woke in your opinion?
  15. No need to overreact. Have always judged a person by their actions on an individual basis. My folks did well on that front. If you encounter a stranger... you know nothing about them. Assuming that they will be a criminal, religious, etc. is for low-IQ types.
  16. Victor Wembanyama is the likely number one pick in the upcoming NBA draft. By predicting this.. I presumably hate the other players and any team that does not win the NBA draft lottery. Life is not as physically taxing as it used to be therefore the need for men's superior physical strength has declined. Oh but I hate men (odd being that I am male).. because I can observe this reality.
  17. There is data about the last topic that you post.. It may not be the easiest to sift through. By data, this is not google searches followed by articles which are mostly subjective opinions. I work in the world of raw data and know how to sift the mess better than most. Trans activists attacking folks and then it disappearing.. this is the mark of a conspiracy theorist who knows that there is no objective data to support their conclusion. We are supposed to just trust you because you are passionate... Yeah, does not work with me.
  18. Any economist of any merit would strongly advise against this. It is a simple math equation. Marginal costs versus marginal benefits.. one exceeds the other by quite a bit.
  19. In light of them announcing a rare show in my neck of the woods
  20. It is interesting that what qualifies as "woke" changes from person to person. Our office was accused of this.. because we posted data about unemployment rates by race. Oh.. guess what? What do we get the most requests about from the PUBLIC... oh, that's right, Unemployment rate by race.
  21. Calling it a religion is just garden variety exaggeration and hyperbole. My wife is fairly liberal and so I witness on a daily basis how she fundamentally differs from other leftists. Such a wide spectrum of views tells me that it is not unified and therefore not a religion.
  22. Well, I can only go from what I see and observe. Telling me that I should believe something that can't be shown nor proven... surely, you can see the problem with that. I am not pro or anti-trans... honestly do not care. However this idea that these confrontations happen every day and everywhere... does not pass my sniff test.
  23. Can you quote me directly stating something "Anti-male"... now no opinions, inferring, or interpretations. No, I am making predictions based on 45 years of life experience. Have witnessed the spread of technology (dont try to play stupid about this one.. this forum is an example of that), labor saving devices, and greater economic fortunes.. If you have not seen this.. where have you been? By your logic, If I predict that a given state's population is going to grow... i must hate them. Too funny.
  24. Our last governor was a Democrat and lost. The primary reason was his flop-in-the-breeze attitude when it came to COVID. It was not so much that they disagreed on the stance. One week, it was crack the whip time and next week.. meh.. On a side note, my issue with him was his lack of organization. We provide deliverables to the governors office.. most of which need him/her to sign off. the last one would take days/weeks to sign off. Totally gummed up the proverbial gears.
