  1. today's musical flavor is Joy Division.
  2. and as expected... you can't or will not answer a simple, direct question. It is my bad... I expect that folks can back up their supposed bravado online. So adamant and so outspoken but yet can't answer a simple direct question.
  3. I love how you can never answer simple direct questions... Why so cowardly? So you can agree that my ONE complaint does not change the OUTCOME all by itself.. Yes or no. Let's give you one more chance to show that you are a real man and not just some snowflake that hides behind a computer screen. One word answer.. As for myself, I use social media as an outlet for news on my hobbies; rock music, craft beer, and sports. Notice that politics is not in there... of course, you would not.
  4. Hmmm... so intellectual. So lets put your theory to the test. I will write a letter to my Senator and if the gas price goes down SOLELY based on that letter.. you win. If there is no change or the price goes up, you lose.
  5. So you can agree that my ONE complaint does not change the outcome all by itself.. Yes or no. Not saying that my one contribution does not matter. It is more a question of how much it actually does matter. To stay on the topic.. lets say that I was on social media. Heads up, I do not use social media as a political tool in any way. But lets say that I did... my one single like, comment, etc is likely only one of 100k. 1 of 100,000, just take a breath and tell me with a straight face that 1 of 100k is going to change the outcome.
  6. In my internet forum days, it is usually the Conservatives who claim that college/university should NOT be a proxy for job training. You should attend college purely for the generalized education experience and not as the conduit to a higher paying job. As for myself, I think too many attend college with this idea that they should do so because the only way that they will get the "Good" job is attending university. Thankfully, the 16-24 age bracket is current pushing back on this idea.
  7. I do not want a civil war. I find that your types want one just as an excuse to fight. Comfortable life where there is little true desparation and no imminent threats to kill is boring and unfulfilling. I would not back down either. However, unlike you, I am not going to seek a conflict just for the fun of it.
  8. I would say no. First, there is no single source of information such as the Bible or Koran. Therefore, it differs greatly from person to person. Do they seek the company of like individuals? Hmmm... Yes and guess what? So does everyone else.
  9. Ok, so here is the truth.. I know that you will not like it. Reno's homeless problem is tied to two things... major increase in cost of housing and access to drugs/alcohol. So about housing.. stop thinking about single family homes that are mostly in the suburbs. Nope. its the run down weekly motels. The existence of which are not in any way tied to politics or the R or D next to the name of the mayor. Their run down condition is due to the age of the buildings and the population moving away from downtown. The weekly motels in 2010 were renting for an average of $110 per week. And then sometime in 2017.. the prices started to rise. Now they rent for roughly $265 per week. Wages in the industries that hire these types (restaurants and retail) have not risen at that rate. Middle class Joe Blow is not going to rent rooms in these weekly motels.. if hit with dire straits, they simply would rather live in their cars or move back to wherever they came from. Second, NV state law and city regulations allow for relative ease of access. All of these laws predate the modern liberal by about 50 years. In most states, a liquor license is not simply a function of ability to pay. In NV, you can have seemingly unlimited retailers in a given area.. as long as they pay the necessary fees. In ID, OR, UT, and MT.. this is not the case.
  10. That is not the point. One person's complaint is not going to cause gas prices to come down. My complaining on a given day is not going to cause the price to come down. Needless whining and complaining and getting nothing out of it is not my style.
  11. It is incredibly comical that you think that my one complaint... all by itself.. is going to get the price to come down right now or in the near future. My one complaint is all that it takes. If I am so powerful.. then why have my other complaints mostly been ineffective?
  12. I find your types amusing. In your heart of hearts... you want a civil war. Of course, you will never just come out and say it.
  13. So if I was to go to the pump right now and start screaming about prices, I can reliably see a price decrease instantly or at worst in the next hour? By complaining enough.. how many times is enough... 10, 20, 50 times? Am I assured that all of this complaining will in fact cause a price decrease in and of itself.. no other factors?
  14. Gas prices do suck. Have a 40 mile one way commute from home to work. Just not sure how my complaining changes them now.
  15. And I do.. I do not think life is terrible today. It is much the same. My cost of living is not that much higher today than it was then. Yes, it is higher but I have also seen a significant pay increase (not due to COVID..). So would you agree with most Conservatives that life was better in every single way in 1995 than it is today? Yes or no will suffice.
  16. Maybe in your world. it is the conservatives in my world that almost universally claim that life was in all ways better in the past than it was today.
  17. I had someone scream at me on the phone about being woke because I instructed him to enter the name of the employer exactly as it appeared on the W-2. What is woke about that?
  18. so when is the civil war going to be here.. be sure to give an exact date and time.
  19. Never makes sense, does it. So by their logic... the first iteration of society was the best and it was been in continual decline since then. These conservatives came along much later than this first iteration and so they themselves were born into one of these periods of decline.
  20. I would think that something such as being trans would come out in the first exchange (written, oral, text, whatever)
  21. Another interesting aspect is that humans do adapt... the world has changed many times since 50,000 BC (just as an example) and yet this is the one time that they will not be able to do so. More fascinating logic.
  22. I am not claiming that conservative policies caused it.. Au contraire, I am claiming that there is little if any correlation between the two. The R or D next to the name of the mayor has little to do with how many homeless are here. If you want an honest explanation,... i can give it. However, you will not like it. Why? Because it does not pin the blame on Democrats and politicians.
  23. How do you know I am a Marxist? So by being able to read the writing on the wall... that makes me a Marxist? Fascinating logic.
  24. Or how about the more rational answer... The R or D next to the name does not explain the whole story? The homeless population went up every year from 1998 to 2018. Most of the time, there was a Republican mayor and mostly republican city council. So by your logic, they fostered homelessness. Good thing that you are not an economist or analyst of any kind. You are the same type that claims that claims that the only reason that sparsely populated counties stay that way is some grand conspiracy against them. Esmeralda County, NV for example. A whole lot of nothing and nobody. But.. but.. liberals are railing against them. Yet ask a liberal about this place and they say, "Huh, what?"
