I am not the most passionate/knowledgeable NHL Fan. I like what I see and I follow along but rarely watch games. I too would love to watch an EDM vs. TOR Stanley Cup Final.

TUCKER CARLSON OUT AT FOX NEWS
impartialobserver replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
^^^ Hence why if I care about an issue... I do my own research and make up my own mind. Needing to listen to Carlsen to form the opinion or more likely get affirmation.... is not my style. -
TUCKER CARLSON OUT AT FOX NEWS
impartialobserver replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well FOX news ratings have dropped since firing Carlsen. My one takeaway is that it is interesting how most know that the commentators like him do not fully believe what they say during their shows. Alex Jones as another example. If I knew that someone did not actually believe what they were saying.. I would be done watching/listening to them immediately. -

Back to the topic..it appears that this is hitting inBev in the revenue dept. I do not believe that this is going to a long term phenomenon. This current wave of pro-trans promotions will stop and they move on to other things in time. https://www.outkick.com/bud-light-sales-getting-worse-by-the-week-as-miller-coors-take-off/ -
I am rooting for Toronto to win this next series and to play Carolina in the conference finals.

I guess that I care too much about the product and not the noise on the outside. I do not drink Bud because it has no taste. If they changed it to where it tasted good... then I would drink it. Publicity , advertising, etc. are just extraneous noise. I guess there is an exception. I boycott Lagunitas because the owner is a litigious sort that likes to sue other microbreweries. However, that is not a publicity stunt. That is a pattern of behavior that I do not approve of.

If a brewery that I buy their product was to hire a trans spokesperson.. not sure I would actually know of it until long after. I usually develop a taste for a beer by seemingly random purchases. Try something new and if it is good then I try others from them. Do not buy beer from Almanac Brewing because of flashy ads.. I see it at the local craft beer warehouse and decide to try it. I guess that is the difference between craft beer and macros such as Coors, Bud, MGD, and such.

I only go to Las vegas for work. Otherwise, I avoid that place. Too hot and too ugly. Is she a wine drinker? If she likes broadway shows, concerts, and such.. there is Sacramento and Napa for that. 90 minute drive...
-
If you are outside of Las Vegas or Reno.. the sky gets very dark very quickly. I have been on my mountain bike through the most remote stretches and camped out at night on the desert. If you are ever down here again... you should check out Jarbidge. https://youtu.be/dWi1O12mH9M

Well, you are not wrong about the guns. We have quite the gun culture here. Four public shooting ranges within 10 miles of town and nearly infinite amount of space to have your own non-county-sanctioned shooting range. Only direction from town that there is not wide open spaces is West... this is the route to Sacramento and San Francisco. Interesting factoid... Outside of ID, WY, and MT.. Reno has the most retail outlets where one can legally purchase a gun. Guns are not a big deal in my world but that does not mean that I do not observe what is around me. Some selling points about Reno.. no state income tax, relatively mild weather except for August, very mild on the politics, and within 5 hours drive of mostly anything (San Francisco, Yosemite, Crater Lake OR, Elko, the Redwoods, Pacific Ocean, Wine country, and Utah National parks).

Have driven to San Diego and LA 5 or 6 times and you through the Mojave (palmdale, riverside, adelanto, victorville) and I can't see what lures folks into living on the open empty desert. Reno is desert but we have forested areas such as Lake Tahoe and the Eastern Sierra within view.
-
That would be me. 110 degrees, dry, dusty, and everything brown.. gets old

We are supposed to be getting a dusting of snow tonight. I have no problem with that. To each their own, some would think I am crazy for always having lived in desert climates. Boise, Reno, Salt lake city, Winnemucca NV. The humidity in NYC was the main adjustment for myself. 8 or 9% humidity is quite common on a summer day here.
-
Maybe I am just spoiled. Been living in relatively warm, dry places with lots of sunshine for 45 years. My least favorite time of the year besides election season is August. High of 105, low of 80.. ughhh...
-
I can handle cold. What I find unbearable is the 110 degree temps in So Cal, Las Vegas, and most of AZ. I am in Reno which is still desert but we do not see 100 degree days except from Mid-july to mid-August. Last summer was in New York City for a week. Everybody told me it was a dirty sh__hole. What I saw was far more clean and kept up than Bakersfield or LA. It was far easier to get around in NYC without a car than LA.
-
I have been to the section of Alberta that is right above Idaho. Cranbrook, inverness, and such. I did not see a hellhole. Only place that I would give that title to is Bakersfield, CA
-
I am choosing the Edmonton dates because they will be playing the "and justice for all" album in its entirety during the first night. Not sure why Edmonton gets that honor (and none others will) but still going to be fun
-
Well, I will see it first hand next year when I see Metallica in Edmonton.
-
Interesting. I saw very few jerseys on when I went to the 49'ers game. As opposed to Calgary at San Jose... probably 60 to 75% of the crowd was wearing a Flames or Sharks jersey. It was quite the mix of folks.. young, old, male, female, white, not so white, rich, poor.

2 or 3 times is not bombarding. 20 to 30 times.. you have a point. 2 to 3... i think that you are just a bit too sensitive and overreact. So, in short, you can't show where I explicitly stated that it NEVER comes up outside of the forum. Yes, the only place that I see it is this place. ... but I am just one person and just because I do not see it does not mean that it does not exist. I am sure that I was obsessively watching the news, combing news sites, and such.. I would see it more often.. but I have a life.. what a concept -
When I saw Calgary play in San Jose.. the place was loud and folks were having quite the good time. Now, the opposite... San Francisco vs. Tampa Bay in the NFL. The guys behind me spent the whole game complaining about the substandard chardonnay being sold at the stadium.

"bombarded"... more exaggeration. I just went to the local newspaper online and guess what... the topic comes up 2 or 3 times and one had to dig. But... but... that means I am bombarded. Wow, you are a funny guy. "The only time I hear about trans-people is on this board.." Now show some character and tell me where I explicitly stated that it NEVER comes up outside of this forum. No interpretations or subjective opinions. -
I will take your word on this. I have only been a relatively casual fan. Some of that is due to it not being the easiest to watch without cable in the past. The sports fans that I know here in the US are generally not hockey fans for two reasons.. 1. they do not understand offsides and icing and 2. they have not seen it live. It is my opinion that it is the one sport where the live product is so far superior to the televised. Been to two NHL games; Calgary at San Jose and Calgary at Phoenix. What a spectacle. The atmosphere and intensity far exceeded the two NFL games that I have been to.
