  1. Oh.. and I was on here this weekend? Oh, I was not.. I was out having a life. What a concept. Do you know how I know that you are a clown? Because you exaggerate... What evidence do I have..."pretending that trans issues NEVER make"... the inclusion of that fifth word in that clause. I challenge you to show me where I said that it NEVER comes up? Yes, it does. However, I could be equally disingenuous and ask, "Does it come up in every news story?".. The answer is no.
  2. That may be so. I grew up in Boise idaho in the 80's. Most people could not tell you the first thing about the NHL. I latched on to the sport because it seemed as if it was a sport that rewarded grit and determination and not based on innate skill and ability to manipulate (basketball).
  3. Agreed. Every year it changes. My hometown, Boise ID, frequently has been at the top of these lists starting in the late 80's. I chose my current residence, Reno, not because of a list but rather happenstance. Got a good job and decided not to move.
  4. I freely admit to being a Calgary Flames fan. Growing up, no one knew or cared about hockey. I watched a few games and Theo Fleury caught my eye and from there I was a fan. That being said... this is the year for Toronto to finally end the drought. It is good for the NHL to have Toronto in an Eastern Conference Final or the Stanley Cup Final. If I was in control.. I would love to see Toronto vs. Edmonton in the cup final.
  5. ^^^ this is how I can tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about. At its highest level, it is not philosophical like you infer. It is mostly math, statistics, and a tiny smidge of judgment. Where the judgment comes in is what variables to include in your model. Y = statistical constant + variable x + variable y + so on.... The decision to add/omit the variable that contribute to the outcome is where the subjectivity comes in.
  6. Hmmm... I went all weekend with the the only time that letters t-r-a-n-s coming up was when a neighbor was talking about the transmission on his car. The only time I hear about trans-people is on this board.. but I can't go 5 minutes without hearing about it. Damn, you are quite the comedian.
  7. They tell themselves that their one opinion is going to be the one that changes the tide. Being one of millions does not make your opinion impactful.
  8. Can't go 5 minutes without hearing about Trans-people.. quite the comedian.
  9. Another election where we have to choose between Biden or Trump. That is akin to having to choose between a steak that was left on the counter for six months and someone's full Depends. there has to be a viable candidate that is less than 60 and that does not have the verbal diarrhea of Trump.
  10. I see no issue with it. However, the game has changed. The Olympics are no longer as lucrative as they used to be.
  11. Being that I know Las Vegas better than anyone else on here.. this story has a lot of BS wrapped in and around it. Las Vegas, love it or hate it, is a not a hotbed of political activism or religion. You typically move to Las Vegas to escape that.
  12. 30 days until I see this song live
  13. Fox News will be ok. This is the doldrums before the next election and so not all that big of a deal if you have lower ratings at Tucker's time slot. My guess is that it really does not matter who actually says it along as the new commentator echoes typical Conservative talking points.
  14. Well, Coors light is not some beacon of Conservative purity. They have been a primary sponsor of the Denver PrideFest for quite some time. I guess those who hate this kind of thing can always revert back to even less appealing beers such as Mickey's, Olde English, Steel Reserve 211, Old Milwaukee, or gasp! Colt 45.
  15. Where I differ from most is that I think that both sides do it. The poor, oppressed American Christian.. Boo hoo.. Oh wait, you are the overwhelming majority. Oh.... but.. but.. Or the 10-pt IQ types from rural Idaho, Nevada who say that their ways are under attack. And yet you drive out there and everything looks exactly the same today as it did in 1988. Under attack would infer someone from the outside is trying to change the land or people so why does it look exactly the same for 30+ years.
  16. I would agree. Have met very few trans people in my lifetime. Have been to every major city in the Western US along with Minneapolis, Kansas City, New York City, and Chicago and still have not seen that many. My guess is that they have nothing better to rail against and so this is the most convenient bogeyman.
  17. On the topic of beer, I am looking forward to sampling some of Edmonton's finest craft brews when I visit there in August 2024. Have not done any research yet.. its 17 months away but still should be a fun time.
  18. It is awfully strange how one prefers one water down lager over another. Coors, MGD, Olympia, Bud, Busch... all taste about the same. I like my craft beer.. probably a bit too much. If I am going to ingest the calories from a beer, it needs to be worth it. Lackluster, water down, 4.2% lager.... not worth it. 12.8 abv barleywine-style ale.. now, we are talking.
  19. One detail that both of us left out is that Bud is just one of many brands/beers under the InBev umbrella. Do you honestly think Joe Blow factory workers going to get a six pack on tuesday night is going to stop at the beer cooler and research which beers in front of him are part of InBev? I know, you are the one exception but Joe Blow factory worker is not going to care.
  20. I would say the opinion that ruffles feathers on both sides is that victimhood is far too prevalent. Both sides do it.. Its quite pathetic.
  21. Diminished sales? Yes. For how long.. no one knows. My guess is a few months. I come from a poor working class background and know that the bottom line dictates the choice. At the end of the day.. beer tastes the same, costs about the same, and if you poor the water into something else and throw the can away... no need to look at a trans person or whatever it is.
  22. I know.. supposed to read this and get all sorts of worked up. However, lots of elements to this story do not pass the sniff test.
  23. I do not know how it is in Canada but in the US.. registering as an independent is a sure sign of masochism. You may as well be allergic to peanuts and go to a Thai restaurant.
  24. woke by its nature means correction and/or overreaction. Except that this mural predates the current "woke" narrative by 35+ years. I would hope that you can see the disconnect. If not... not much needs to be said. If this mural had been put up in 2020.. you have a point. 1982... not woke.
