Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Give up the virtue signalling whine and people might listen. If I didn't have to tell my employees both young and old over and over again to rinse their pop cans and put them in the recycle bin, not the goddam garbage, then it would be time to ease off with the recycling message. You know how many times I had to shout "It's not about the effing dime" at people? Add this to your bank of knowledge - you know by far the largest employer in this part of BC? The aluminum smelter! You know where the ore comes from? Bauxite is Cuba's biggest export. Think about it every time you toss a can away, you're supporting Communists. Maybe that will help get the uber-right on track. -
Steaming pile of bullshit more steaming bullshit nonstop steaming bullshit. Believe every anti-immigrant right wing cliche do you?

FFs slavery was abolished before Canada even existed as a nation. That does not mean racial injustice did not happen then and since. Dismantling Africaville, demolishing Vancouver's black neighbourhood for an overpass? Chinese exclusion act? Japanese, Italian, Ukranian internment? Komataga Maru? Residential schools, potlach bans, voting rights unequal until the 1960s - on an on. This Canada we're supposed to be celebrating that we've learned, moved on and are trying to reconcile. Reconciliation does not include refusing to recognize it, glorifying times when it was an existing fault, squawking that anything tried to repair the damage was 'reverse' discrimination. Or hiding in a closet, claiming that implied racism in multiple posts is not racism at all.

No, buddy, that's the problem with repeating cliche and sound bytes so often people actually believe it's 'truth'. Like I seem to have to repeat over and over, it isn't being done overnight. But it is rapidly happening regardless if you like it or not. And the entire rest of your reply is once again the same thing. But now you want to abandon recycling too. just because it's not easy and convenient? Like WTF does your retirement portfolio consist of only oil and plastics stock? -
How you conclude safe drug supply is a failure from pointing out the very human failure of the guy you refer to is odd. And spew BS about 'data' that proves it. You joining the club like the woman I know who told me she'd never ever go to the Pot Store for her weed "because you never know what the government is putting in the stuff" ?

But, but we can solve all that electing a gov't that pretends it doesn't exist! Remember these guys Lord and idol suggesting if they'd only stop reporting the number of Covid deaths the problem would disappear? Or their insistence that scrapping the Carbon Tax is their Climate Policy. I mean really, stubbornly insisting for years that the leader of a minority gov't is a dictator sort of defines their level of intelligence.

Oh FFS can you only rehash the same tired complaints? Can you come up with one that's an unsolveable problem and reason to abandon all efforts we try? Diesel pollutes as well as produces CO2 and yes it does that everywhere. And yes, they're already singing the same cost problem to oppose cleaner fuel standards. Never heard of electric buses and trains? Or hydrogen ones like the train now running in Quebec? Electric ferries already in use here and around the world... LNG ships and sail revivals? Oh wait we have to build great LNG tankers that carry enough to power a city and run the ship on BunkerC... only BunkerC can run a big engine, I suppose. And to update the 25 year old range anxiety excuse with 'you can fly 350 people to Australia' on an electric plane (yet) so why even try. You find a problem, you don't stop dead you fix it. Is that idea just too 'progressive' for you Can't-servatives? -
Me? I couldn't give two shits. I never drank the swill from Ann Hauser's bush anyway.

OMG see a post by a username like that and expect something other than a rant they're not racist yet breaks everything into race by race statements and claims we're all "anti-white"? Yet another fascist malcontent lamenting the imagined days of lost 'greatness' and racial purity who'll undoubtedly deny that either is a dictionary definition of fascist belief, they're merely conservative. On Canada Day yet, no sense of shame at all. Normal conservatives do, or they wouldn't be conservative. If even is Canadian he'd be aware no one here ever strove for greatness, we strive to maintain just being the best.

Who is Worse, Trudeau or Biden?
herbie replied to WestCanMan's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yes, that's why Buddhism and meditation are tools of Satan. -
Show us such a sign. (You can't because in America there aren't any.) Until the latest SC(R)OTUS is finished bringing back 1953. COMING SOON: I refuse to build websites for Republicans. RSVP'd: Will not enter a church that refuses to display Pride flag, but will go to your kids reception. No service for Trump supporters in this store.

Trees and MOSK EEE TOES!!!! Remoinds me of that dog collar commercial... buncha whiney malcontents. So much happier having to pay to go to a beach, never wear a coat or drink schnapps around a campfire in the snow. Pay for your doctor then, pretend governments that tell you who you can love who you must hate and do with your own body is freedumb and pretend that hundred acre forests with paved walking trails and turnstiles are wilderness. Nobody makes you live here. Happy Canada Day from the BEST country in the world.

Speaking of shoes, I once went into a Fields where a friend worked and banged a flip-flop on the counter. Snarled "I just bought these here two summers ago for $6 an they're worn out already! What you gonna do about it?" She face palmed and mumbled "If I didn't hear stuff like that several times a week I'd laugh" On subject again: I do not object to increasing military spending, just on how, when and why. First we must define an exact role in the NATO cause and stick to that. Same with our own defence needs.

So just like I stated, what needed to be done was done. The workers directly involved were fired. And yes, they needed to be fired as they failed to follow up on those kids which is part of their job. Not the Minister's job. They didn't do that obviously or that kid wouldn't be dead. Case resolved. And clear warnings for future slack off employees.

Gonna judge our commitment in Afghanistan by what we spent rather than what we did? Gonna claim out geographical and political positions are not 'contributions' too? Or be as stupid and whiny as Trump and ONLY look at money. Go ahead he was dumb enough to boot us out, maybe Iceland too. But don't suggest I disagree with spending more to improve and increase what we do have. For the 2nd biggest country on Earth to have less planes than one US carrier and a mere handful of ships to guard 3 coass is simply unacceptable.

SCOTUS Ends Affirmative Action
herbie replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
See what I meant about including /sarcasm in that other thread. Too damn thick in the head to figure it out themselves.... At any rate the Cornservative majority is making rapid progress in the March Backwards in the USA. Ruling that discrimination on the basis of religious beliefs is not discrimination. Ruling against student debt relief. Now we just need to wait for them to agree with some Klansman bringing the case that 'serving dem black peeple's agin my religion' ... -
That was a spoken line off a late 1960s album... just posted it to see if anyone remembered it. Got propositioned years ago by the fattest, ugliest, nastiest woman I ever had the misfortune to work with. Told her no thx, I was married... she got even more agressive. Weeks later I had to pretend I was so drunk after a convention I couldn't be woken by her pounding at the motel door. Had to drive home 350 miles with her telling of all the dirty things she wanted to do to me from the back seat, and the Boss laughing her head off at my discomfort... (ended up with the Boss in the end ?)
