Joe Biden’s Provocative Weakness
OftenWrong replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Or, one can spout endless drivel and lies. That's when we know some of you yankees are lying. About the history of your own country no less. That's why, you people are at each others throats and on the road to gehena... Is no wonder why Canadians have a culture of anti-Americanism. Healthy -
If I recall correctly, one thing Don Trump implemented was that illegals or asylum seekers would remain in camps just south of the US border, under Mexican control. The result was that far less tried to come in. He also blocked migrants coming from a specific list of countries, mainly those who were known to have undocumented migrants or issues with passport documentation that didn't meet the US vetting/ security standards. But the howling from leftist media only focused on charges of racism. And when uncle Joe took things over, they undid what he was trying to do. Back to millions of undocumented migrants entering your country. Including criminal gang members like 13 and ISIS. Oh well. Whatayagonnado? 🤷♂️

Correcting leftists on their faulty logic and poor understanding of history can be a full-time job.

Blaming UFC? Same as what happened in baseball, "Let's go Brandon."
More false equivalence from you.
It really gets dull correcting you people all the time.

It is documented that marijuana and alcohol use increased significantly during the covid lockdowns. Those stores were allowed to remain open. I was not allowed to stop working and remain home due to my profession. I remember seeing a lineup of 10-20 people outside the LCBO as I drove to work each day. I started work at 10 AM, so the lineup was there already at 945, people waiting for it to open. This scene was consistent. Some folk got more money from the handout under covid than they did while working. Nothing to do all day, so let's party. Or maybe lay a beating on the wife. Domestic violence increased as well. Relatively, in context with alcohol, cocaine and heroin, but not completely. There is evidence now that marijuana affects every organ in the body including the vital organs, heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas. The heart is the most significant, as marijuana is associated with changes in the heart's rhythm. Canada is conducting a major experiment with weed, since no other country has gone with legalizing it as we've done, so consumption is really high. Really really high. Chronic use has most certainly gone up with availability and social acceptance. The outcome of this experiment on public health is yet to be seen, give it another ten years or so. But I won't be surprised if they find some significant risks for people who consume it chronically. There may be good reasons to want to role back a little. It may even need to be re-criminalized again. See thread title...

I say what he did in visitng NK was bold and for a moment gave hope there could be a new direction. It probably upset China. But Trump was all about that.

Actually you are wrong. The history of western law has been explained in this forum in the past. Go look it up. Is based on Roman law, and evolved from the rule of law under the Holy Roman Empire. There's a reason why the courts may ask a person to swear on oath on the bible. Only recently this procedure changed to include other religious books.

The POSITIVES from a Trump presidency

Who knows, you may look good in an orange jump-suit. Well, at least to some guy named Bubba.. -
Those 'green' technologies are literally like toys compared to what is needed to provide sustained, high power. Only fossil fuel and nuclear are capable of doing it reliably. Besides, they ain't that green either. When it comes to energy, there is no free lunch. Me, I am growing increasingly anti-nuclear in my view as I find out more about the plans, and more specifically lack of plans to deal with nuclear waste. I think the smaller SMR's reduce that risk of serious nuclear accidents like Chernobyl and Fukushima by spreading them out over a larger area, but that's just a numbers game. The real issue is the toxic and radioactive waste of nuclear, which will persist for 100's of thousands of years. It's unlikely that our civilization will be around anywhere near that long. Without constant human attention and intervention, these technologies can become a threat to all life. So I'd rather see we continue using fossil fuel, and invest more in R&D to "scrub" out the pollutants and to recover the carbon. Surely there are still many possibilities for improvements in that. Making fossil fuel a more efficient of an energy source is already a big step to reducing carbon, if that is in fact a problem at all...

ICE trucks? Oh the humanity... -
So what. I gave several references that indicate what Trump had accomplished. The platinum plan highlighted his attitude for what needed to be done, and he nailed it. He freed thousands of blacks from your racist prson/industrial/war complex system that Dems and Obama perpetuated. Those facts and links are indisputable. But you are free to cling to your fallacious beliefs in a mean old, racist orange man. Those are your priorities I guess. Oh well 🤷♂️

Is Hate Speech Free Speech?

Not to mention Yemen. Does that make Biden a war monger? Oh yeah man. -
Here is a glimpse into what I think is really going on in Canada and around the world. A new form of warfare has been created. "Both the U.S. and Chinese militaries are working toward integrating AI into three common areas: information processing, unmanned weapons and decision-making. However, Beijing is taking the technology one step further by exploring its use in cognitive warfare, which some Chinese military experts say will likely become the next most important battlefield after the physical and information space." Winning without fighting And these bloody machines can out-think us so fast, will have your head spinning around in no time. They beat the best chess master in the world years ago. What they have today is far more powerful, and "research" in AI continues. Stephen Hawking called AI the greatest threat to humanity yet, surpassing atomic bombs. Now we're starting to see what he meant.

That's alright fella. I don't want to pull the rug out from under you. Stay safe. But since you challenge the notion that Trump did anything specifically to assist blacks in the US, here are some factoids that might make you hide under the covers! Do not read if you feel stressed about Trump. - Implemented special funding in a bill that committed to providing $250 million a year to black colleges. https://apnews.com/article/c4834e48841d97c5a93312b1bf75302a Haha, they are called "Historically Black Colleges and Universities", even given a short form "HBCU's" in the USA. Man, you people have a race problem. - President Trump signed the historic FIRST STEP ACT into law. The FIRST STEP ACT shortens mandatory minimum sentence for nonviolent drug crimes. The law allows offenders sentenced under racially motivated mandatory minimums to petition for revaluation. - Launched the "Ready to Work" Initiative, which helps released prisoners gain meaningful employment. - 90 percent of those who have had their sentences reduced are Black Americans. - President Trump has proposed the Second Step Act to partner with corporate America to create opportunities for former prisoners to rejoin society. And as well: Developed a plan called "The Platinum Plan": - 3 million new jobs for the black community - Creating 500,000 new black owned businesses - Increase access to capital in black communities by almost $500 billion - Safe urban neighborhoods with highest policing standards - Access to better education and job training opportunities - Give black churches the ability to compete for federal resources for their community - Bring better and tailored healthcare to address historic disparities - Immigration policy that protects american jobs - Advance home ownership opportunities - Enhance financial literacy in the black community - On-shoring manufacturing to advance jobs and develop opportunities for black owned businesses. https://cdn.donaldjtrump.com/public-files/press_assets/president-trump-platinum-plan-final-version.pdf Enjoy your day.

The Ruin That a Trump Presidency Would Mean
OftenWrong replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's a pity. I should clarify what I said, the harshest penalties need to be for the drug distributors, the so-called 'Drug Lords'. Not the corner dealer, who is just some punk they employ to hand the drugs out. I'm talking about the Pablo Escobar types, and their associates.
