  1. Yes, that makes sense. The purity seekers are like extremists in a way. If a person is a virtue seeker, that in itself is fine but for me it is about outcomes. My liberalism is based upon the notion you get to define yourself any way you want within your own sphere. But that doesn't mean I have to agree or approve of it. I shouldn't need to. It's your sphere and your alone. In the public sphere it has to fall under a definition we all, or the majority, agree upon. That's where laws and rules come in. Anything that challenges the established laws and rules could threaten our civility, and that's where the fight begins.
  2. By now it's quite clear that their years-long coordinated attack did not turn the public's attitude away from Don Trump. After all the accusations both during his presidency and afterwards, millions still support him and prefer him over other candidates. Why that is, is interesting (MH) and can be debated, but fact remains this will still be a close race for the US presidency. Again. My supply of popcorn is stocked up...
  3. No, I can't. In the liberal world we can define anything as we want. In our conservative reality, we use a dictionary. These are the telltale signs, you see.
  4. I wouldn't call it virtue though. Meanness, ok. Virtue to me means purity. Like virgin.
  5. Virtuous? Who needs that? Maybe you can signal a little more.
  6. You can really see how afraid they are of the guy. Everything's just MAGA, MAGA, MAGA! Sore afraid...
  7. You proved nothing. I posted the official data from the FBP. Dunno where your link is from and don't care. I'll go with the US government stats, thanks. Besides I knew this for a fact before posting in the first place. My first post on the matter was from memory and I needed no link. Doesn't seem like you knew anything about it. But hey, always happy to educate you Americans about the real issues in your shithole country. Anytime you need to know something, feel free to drop in and ask us Canadians here in our forum.
  8. This says that drug offenses are the number one reason for high prison population. The rise in prisoner numbers coincides exactly with the "War on drugs". Harsh sentences, mandatory minimums contribute to it. The war on drugs is a war on yourselves. But we all know how you people love war, so...
  9. Why is it interesting? Data from the Federal Bureau of Prisons https://www.bop.gov/about/statistics/statistics_inmate_offenses.jsp Drug Offenses 64,868 44.4% Homicide, Assault, Kidnapping 4,789 3.3% More than ten times the stat for homicide, assault and kidnapping combined. Yeah and how well has that worked?
  10. Malarchy. The vast majority of people in US prisons are there for drug offenses, by a wide margin. So there's your theory out the window again. 🙄
  11. Educating leftists is a full-time job.
  12. Thanks for stopping by.
  13. Liar. Here is one of the things you said about people who are religious. You did it without qualification. - You are confusing the issue with your bias and naivete. You want to say something, be more precise or expect to get picked apart. And I never attacked you, just showed you are clueless about the significance of terms like "God keep our land". Consider yourself a little more educated today.
  14. Aw. "But but but, some of my friends are..." There was no rant. I educated you on the role of god in our civil laws, against your vile views towards the religious. You are out of touch with history and facts, in your quest to ridicule and demonize christians carte-blanche. As leftist so often do. In fact your views that the religious in Canada want theocracy and to dismantle democracy are 100% inverted from reality. And I demonstrated that by quoting you the charter. What did you bring to the conversation, other than immature and baseless claims? Not much.
  15. Yep. Out with it. You take exception to me teasing treebeard about his blatant atheism, because you are yourself a blatant atheist. You need to learn some history before passing judgement. Claiming religious people, namely christians, are totalitarians when in fact every tyrant has opposed religion. Because those who want total power cannot abide the fact that people may believe in a higher authority than the state, something you fail to understand. Your hatred of christianity has blinded you to the reality of what tyrants do, and what they fear the most. Canada still upholds god in its anthem and charter of rights and freedoms. "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law". - The INTRODUCTORY sentence of the charter. But you are ignorant of this fact, by the raging hatred-hard-on you have against the "god-boys".
  16. Rubbish. "They are behind..." Not in any western country. And nobody says we need a theocracy. You simply hate christians and need them for a bogeyman. Yet you're playing right into the communists hands. Stalin et al said exactly the same thing. What church did he go to? Do you realize how absurd your comments are here? The new axis of tyrants, is YOU PEOPLE.
  17. Why are you pursuing this ridiculous dialogue. No one here has suggested fundamentalism to solve anything. Your views are extreme if you think all religious people are fundamentalsts.
  18. You want to compare harsh Islamic fundamentalist countries and their sharia law to modern christianity and its impact on western law, start a thread. Apples and oranges. Typically leftist confuse things in their quest to equalize everything. My question would be why it BOTHERS you so much.
  19. How should I know. Most communists are atheists, like you's guys. Coincidence?
  20. 1. Doesn't matter, because it will happen as it must. That's the very foundation of political democracy, that there are two political poles and between the two must 'fight' for their voice to be heard by voters. Eventually one party exhausts its trust, having reached a point where they cannot be effective anymore, and the other gains the upper hand. That's all I want. I am neither liberal nor conservative. Those are just labels about certain ideas, while I am a blend of complex ideas needs and wants. Sort of like pea soup. 2. 'You people' is everyone except me, in this case mainly everyone who is a partisan tard. "Chuds", as the word you seem to enjoy, is another way to look at it.
  21. Which makes intelligent people shut off the message, disbelieve their rhetoric. For every yin, an equal and opposite yang. Yet the partisan divide increaseth. I say it's unsustainable long term. You can't build a house on lies. Eventually the crisis of ineffective leadership will collapse upon itself, somehow. But that too is rhetoric, if we just stop being emotional about it ourselves. In a more sane reality it's just that the political pendulum needs to swing the other way a bit, for a while. ======== That's why I say to you people, I say, Away with these illiberal charlatans who have taken us to the brink. They need to be routed, rrrrrouted out of office.
  22. Bromidic marshmallows, I like that. That's what they really want. Say nice fluffy things. Look good. Make people feel good about themselves in their comfortable, secure luxury that was created using methods they don't want to know about. Doesn't matter if the reality is you're bombing people in shanty-towns in far away lands, as long as those wars are elsewhere. Pass me a Bud Light...
  23. Just because someone said that doesn't mean it's true. Clearly it is NOT true among republican voters. No question about that anymore now. The so-called swing voters, in other words people who are not partisans, will be looking at this from a platform and policy point of view. Partisans will remain deeply entrenched.
  24. Pretty amazing, really. After all the media attacks, accusations, impeachments, swat teams, incendiary rhetoric, he's coming back. And not just barely, but huuuuge!!! I think that alone shows a certain resolve and determination, where most would have gone into hiding for the rest of their lives. But not Trump. He's totally shameless. Some will be inspired by his ability not just to stay in the game, but to win again. And now these liberals are quaking in their boots for what they've done, how much they've invested in attacking him, on a grand scale, to find out they failed in defeating him. In fact the opposite. People not only want this guy, they REALLY want him. The world wants a change. The political class has elevated itself to the status of royal elites, out of touch with reality of common people, and most importantly, ineffective at achieving positive changes for the future. Look at the mess we're in with these liberals at the helm for too long. Even in Canada, the Liberals and NDP are quaking in their boots about Trump.
