I don't think Canada will remain a hockey power 20 years from now. Hockey is too expensive for a majority of Canadian kids to play. Can blame this on the Liberals also!3 points

Over 90 % of Mark Carney's personal investments are in the US.3 points

They did and there was. But as usual you can't actually make an argument you just simply flail your hands around demanding that left is right and up is down and black is white and then get yourself killed in the next zebra crossing2 points

Hilarious. Too it takes 20 seconds of Googling to prove that (once again) you're completely and utterly full of shit: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/11-402-x/2012000/chap/econo/econo01-eng.htm We started falling behind the US in productivity back in the 80's or earlier. https://www.canadaaction.ca/canadian-productivity-and-investment-falling-report2 points

🤦♂️ Key there: "or run as an independent". Look, this is very simple. If individual MPs can't break ranks with their party, there's basically no point in having individual's names on the ballot. You just select a party, and then that party appoints a minion to follow leaderships' orders. The system was specifically and deliberately designed not to function this way. The whole point of our federal parliamentary system is regional representation.2 points

You can't appreciate anything that isn't leaning to the right. Okay, let's go with that he lied. 65% of Canadian's approve of Carney's leadership so it appears the masses don;t support your bias view. Now, if he had an approval rating in the 30's that would be embarrassing and of serious concern for his longevity. Don't you think...?2 points

And you thought I was insulting for reminding you how parliamentary democracy works? Some people can dish it out but they sure can't take it.2 points

Nope. You are bullshitter. So you’re saying you’re a bullshitter who makes up false claims that in no way resemble anything I said. Wrong. Wrong. Productivity has been falling for DECADES. In fact since NAFTA it has gotten even worse under EVERY GOVERNMENT. It is because the more we integrate with USA, the more US companies control our economy, buying up our companies, poaching our talent, controlling the high value economic activity and intellectual property and leaving us with the low value grunt work. What Canadians are only now understanding is that for the past 30+ years the most productive economies have been defined by: Companies who OWN the factory not the people who work in them Companies who OWN user data, not those who supply user data for free Companies who OWN technology patents, not those who researched the technology and shared it for free Companies who OWN technology terms of use, not those who forced to accept them on a take-it-or-leave-it basis The people who COLLECT software license and subscription fees, not those who pay them Companies who sell HIGH-MARGIN FINISHED PRODUCTS at PREMIUM prices, not LOW-MARGIN COMMODITIES at WHOLESALE DISCOUNT prices Companies who CONTINUOUSLY GROW their enterprise by reinvesting profits, not companies that deliberately choose to stop growing pay out their profits as dividends The more we integrated with USA, the more US companies and policy shaped us into playing the latter of each of these relationships and our short-sighted business and government leaders went along with it because to do otherwise was considered risky and because they don’t feel the consequences of those decisions directly You know there are long term studies of cancer patients, do you think that means they were commissioned by the PM and that they’re the totality of everything the government is doing to treat cancer and that it’s one and only purpose is to do nothing until the study is complete? Sorry, once again you don’t know what you’re talking about. Like I said you don’t know what you’re talking about. You are dead dumb and blind to reality, you only get your news from conservative sources that ignore politically inconvenient news and amplify / exaggerate convenient news. The economy has improved since Carney took office. Most of our economic woes have been inflicted by Trump. You blame Carney for the results of Trump’s economic attacks and Trump’s refusal to deal even as you know deals with Trump are worthless and those who rushed and made deals with him are now regretting it due to the recent Supreme Court ruling. Oil companies have been given the regulatory regime they wanted on a silver platter, they’re not investing because tar sand crude has limited long-term returns, they want the government to build the infrastructure at taxpayer expense and let them keep the profits. And they want climate denial / zero GHG regulation like they have in their third world operations. Barriers to interprovincial trade have come down massively. All federal barriers have been removed. Ontario has made deals with multiple provinces as have others.2 points

I went to sleep just as the game began, fully expecting to wake up to a hard fought Canadian victory between the two best (NHL sourced) teams. Congratulations to the US team for winning the gold medal for the first time since 1980, something Canada has accomplished nine times, more than any other nation. Canada's silver medal is still a big deal and adds to the total of 16 (9 Gold, 4 Silver, 3 Bronze) men's hockey medals since 1920...that means Canada has been in 13 gold medal games. Yes, I understand that the gold medal standard matters so much more to Canadians, and it is bad luck that Sidney Crosby was out with an injury.2 points

Sorry kiddo I know it hurts but that was his only response So you're saying that not only did carney not have a very good response, he had absolutely no response and it's just letting the economy go on autopilot I love that you think that somehow makes him look better It is whether he ordered it or not It doesn't matter if it's bad or good. We have a problem right this very second and have for several years now. This has been commented on by economists at great length. Thanks to many of Justin Trudeau's policies we are severely underproductive So any response that takes 15 years to produce is of no value to us to solve the problem even if that report produces miraculous work He has done nothing. Not a single thing And it shows. Money is fleeing Canada faster than it ever has. Our trade deficit is going up. Our job numbers are worse. Our GDP growth is worse. Every metric you could possibly choose is worse. Our own Canadian oil companies are saying they will not invest in Canada because of the current regulatory environment. Inter provincial trade has actually gotten worse since he took over. Tariffs have gone up. It looks like we aren't getting a trade deal with united states or if we do it's going to be a horrible one. All he has done is make it worse. He hasn't done a single thing to make productivity or the economy better. Not one thing. And now his response to an immediate productivity crisis is a 15-year study Wake up. If Canada cannot afford you to be blind and stupid for another 10 years like you were with Trudeau2 points

There is no reason why we still need these agencies. They are a relic of a different time and are of no value. They are also profoundly unfair to those accused, since unlike the accuser, they get no free legal representation and the 'judges' are in almost all cases people way over on the fringe left and tend to side with claimants. And yet they can make hefty punishments against those who offend their sensibilities. Witness that guy in BC who was fined $750k because he believed there is only two genders. And who laid the charge against him? The BC Teachers union. Which is another organization that should not exist.2 points

Just got finished listening to the leader of the Sask NDP, who may have been menstruating, cry about how Danielle Smith was mean to immigrants. In reality, unchecked immigration without appropriate support or systems in place, ie overcrowding of schools and hospitals by even a fraction of a percentage and all the sudden we all have to act like we are handicapped by wearing a dirty rag on our face during a bad flu season and pretend like this is actually doing something. These left wing people are sick!1 point

Letter on Alberta website here: https://www.alberta.ca/system/files/Premier Smith Letter to Prime Minister Trudeau.pdf As this substack commenter put it: Danielle Smith's 2024 letter to Trudeau: Demanded Ottawa DOUBLE Alberta's immigration spots (20k+ annually) + 10k more for Ukrainians to fix 'critical labour shortages' and grow our economy. 2026 reality: Blames Trudeau's 'open-border disaster' for the exact influx straining services, announces Oct referendum to LIMIT immigration, restrict newcomer access to health/education/social supports. Set-up complete: Lobby for more when Big Oil and the Oligarchy needs workers, then scapegoat Ottawa and immigrants when the bill hits working families. UCP classic—top vs. bottom, not left vs. right. While we're divided, pockets get picked. Albertans: See the pattern? #AlbertaForward1 point

You can thank Trump for this. He forced the Mexican President to take on the cartels through tariffs and threats of doing it ourselves. Now another cartel leader is dead. It won't stop the cartel, but it is a start.1 point

I can never tell whether you guys post this crap cynically, knowing that it's bullshit but hoping that it's politically effective, or whether you just got suckered. There is not equivalency here. There are no hypocrisies here. A. These are not volunteers. They are paid labor. It's a job. B. Proof of employment eligibility is a federal requirement, not a state requirement or a city requirement. C. You have to provide proof eligibility to register to vote. You have to provide proof of eligibility when you apply for the job. That's the same. D. You you not need to provide ADDITIONAL proof of eligibility when you show up to vote. You don't have to provide ADDITIONAL proof of eligibility every time you show up to work. In both cases, the eligibility is already established. That's the same. E. A job shoveling snow is not a right. Voting is a right. Though they do, in fact, have very similar standards of verification, you shouldn't expect that it's necessary or reasonable that they do. Standard could differ because they are different beasts. If you got suckered by this meme, you should try to employ some critical thinking. If you are just being cynical, be better.1 point

I have been watching a lot of post game interviews for the affected NHL coaches and their pragmatic views: 1) Politics didn't matter any more than the usual longstanding cross border rivalry regardless of who is PM or president. This was not a Trump protest battle, as this would be an insult to the game/rivalry. 2) Canadian and American NHL players from teams on both sides of the border somewhat dilutes any fevered hype of old...these guys have to go back and perform at the same high level as teammates after very little rest. For instance, the Colorado Avalanche are looking at 5 games in 7 days starting on Wednesday. 3) Which is why the Olympic final felt like an NHL all-star game for national bragging rights to this casual fan, who recognizes the names and stories only because of the local angle (Minnesota Wild). Lots of NHL talent on the Euro teams as well. The three sets of brothers was a nice human interest story. 4) Yes, the 3 on 3 format sucks, but TV scheduling and money has long impacted the NHL game, not always for the better. Hoping we get back to Stanley Cup OT format for at least the medal round.1 point

Where do you get this stuff? If you don't want MP's like that don't vote for them. Why don't you google it? You assume too much... Until this last election the last time I voted liberal was 2015. You can look what accomplishments the government had during that time. I'm not defending any government. I'm simply giving Carney time to sort the cluster he has two deal with, but do think he's the right guy. I could be right or I could be wrong. You on the other don't have a hope. You're going to continue complaining and being miserable for another 3 years minimum. Speaking of low information.... Yes, the 'orange bad man' in fact has hurt our economy and is responsible for thousands of people losing jobs. You're not that low info not to know that....are you?1 point

Lie, or thought he could? If you were capable of critical thinking you would understand that making a deal with an infantile and petulant narcissist is difficult, and especially so when the said 7 year old's word isn't worth the paper it's written on. No we can't but that's no excuse for closing our eyes to the fact Conservatives also bear historical blame for the current state Canada is in. You had years and years to do something and didn't. Ignorant jackass. If the USA outshot Canada 42-28 and won 5-2 you could say that they were on pace to steal our cultural identity, but this is no different from when Hasek beat Canada twenty-some years ago. Their goalie stole this win for them. FYI giving up 42 SOG in one hockey game is really bad. Before the US got their 4-min PP at the end of the 3rd Canada had twice as many shots on net as the US did. If the US world juniors teams beat Canada's best WJ teams then you could say they were catching up, but the last time the US won the WJC it was because the US had all of their best players, while Conor Bedard, Macklin Celebrini and Zack Benson were already full-time NHLers at 18 years old. Bedard and Celebrini had 130 points in the NHL that season. FYI that's high production for 27 year olds, and there still isn't a full-time NHLer from that US WJC team two years later. The last time team Canada had all of their eligible players at the WJC was during the lockout in 2005, when Canada outscored their opposition 33-6 and won every game. The US went 3-4 that year, and was outscored 28-27 in that tournament. The Russian team that beat the US 7-2 in the semi-final lost 6-1 to Canada in the final. That's what team domination looks like. The US just squeaked out an underdog win today because of a hot goalie. Did Argentina steal America's cultural identity in 2004 when they won the gold in basketball? I'll admit that the US is good at hockey, but they're still just whiny sore-losers who can occasionally pull off an upset.1 point

Why do you think it's only the Liberals who've done this? Again, I point to the litter of old boats and fish plants that have been piling up along the west coast for 40 years now. The Conservatives had just as big a hand in this as well you know. These are like dead canaries that have been telling Canada for decades that something is wrong. Rabid partisanship nearing the top of the list - it's what prevents Canadians from changing how we're governed, and I don't mean just changing who is governing us. That didn't make a bit of difference around here. Right-wing and left-wing canaries all died in more or less equal droves. A few millionaires made out like bandits but that's always the way it is.1 point

He was Oh but i can Carney was told not to meet with Brooksfield agents by ethics commissioner - Google Search "The Advice to Avoid Meetings: According to reports, the Ethics Commissioner personally advised Carney that he should not be meeting with Brookfield representatives. Contradictory Meetings: Despite this advice, records indicated that a senior Brookfield executive (Sam Pollock, CEO of Brookfield Infrastructure) met with Carney in Washington, D.C., in May 2025, and another executive (Justin Beber, COO of Brookfield) met with him in Ottawa in October 2025." Ooopsie doodle!!! You fcuked up again and I was entirely right and you are entirely a twat LOLOLOL The funny bit is this was widely reported just a short time ago, you should have known this. I guess 15 year olds don't bother reading the news much Not only do I always provide links which prove you wrong, but on top of it on the rare occasions when you provide any links to anything it inevitably proves me right. As was the case here again Don't you ever get tired of looking like a complete uneducated buffoon? I mean it would have taken you one second to do a search to realize what I was saying was true1 point

Just how bad are NATO's armies? Well, the central ones are pretty godam bad. Given the relative sizes of their economies, one might conclude that Russia would quake before the military might of Europe’s Nato members. Russia, the ninth-largest economy in the world, is up against the third, sixth, seventh and eighth in the shape of Germany, Britain, France and Italy. Yet the reality is that, militarily, it is the other way around. Russia has the world’s second-strongest military, while France comes sixth, UK eighth, Italy tenth and Germany 12th. To put a few figures on it, Russia has 1.32 million active service personnel, 560 fighter aircraft and 3,941 tanks ready for deployment. For Britain, the corresponding figures are 141,000, 67 and 187; for France 264,000, 178 and 342; and Italy 165,000, 62 and 142. As for Canada, it ranks a lowly 28th, despite being a G7 nation with the world’s tenth-largest economy. It has 63,000 troops, 50 fighter aircraft and 56 tanks – all to defend a landmass that is larger than that of the US. Looked at from a military perspective, it is not hard to see why Donald Trump is considering incorporating Canada into the US. After all, Canada’s vast Arctic frontier is virtually a demilitarised zone. https://archive.is/VxHUx1 point

You verified it AFTER you posted it because you were forced to. You left out pertinent pieces of information, like that sitting MP's cannot work as lobbyists for grocery chains, so implying that Mellissa Lantzman is the cause of food inflation in Canada because she once was a grocery chain lobbyist is disingenuous and I think you know it. I'm hoping nobody is that stupid. Even you.1 point

Now do Liberal lobbyists. My point, which you are consciously avoiding, is that you post things you do not verify before posting. We all do it from time to time, but you do it consistently. Your habit is to quickly Google something opposite and then post the first thing that comes up in Google. You give no serious thought to points and counterpoints. You're intellectually lazy and your political bias is OFF THE CHARTS.1 point

"Elbows Up!" The Cons have been very cooperative. They've allowed quite a few bills to pass now, even though they are only half measures to solve a problem. Sheer was just on CBC and said where a bill doesn't do any MORE harm, they have been willing to let it pass. Bills that include clauses that have nothing to do with the bill topic, but make random power grabs - like C-15 where the Libs want the ability to exempt their freinds from all federal laws (like the conflict of interest law) except criminal laws - No. Not passing. If the Cons were asking for that kind of power, you would want the Libs whining about it.1 point
