  1. The USA bought the Virgin Islands in 1916 on the Agreement they recognized Denmark owned Greenland. Which means if they don't want to sell or give it to you, f*ck off. Funny how he pushes the Greenland subject more and more as he desperately makes every move to hide the Epstein files.

  2. Government loses appeal on Emergencies Act during Freedom Convoy | National Post Yep, the liberals and the NDP who voted with them violated the human rights and protesters and other people such as those they seized the bank accounts of. That makes them the greatest Violators of human rights of any Canadian government going back to when we locked up the Japanese. And yet liberal supporters here will still support them blindly I won't even criticize them for what they did

  3. The article is very well written and researched. Essentially, trillions are sent to non profits via government spending. Those NGO's consist of temporary and permanent nonprofits that funnel money to bypass laws. Sometimes they sue the government's into submission. Sometimes they use brute force or overwhelming numbers. In any case, they are devoid of oversight. Long read, but worth it.

  4. I only have PIPSC's comment and Mike's to go on so far. Hey you know me. I've said for years we should have contracted out something like Petro Canada to Norway, and I'm pretty sure we could do a lot better if we hired German healthcare consultants to help redesign and manage our healthcare systems. I get it, I've been hired as a consultant by NGO's working for public and private interests for what you've described, just short but lucrative gigs.

  6. Your points are fair, but the Musk layoffs had a perception of recklessness about it, I would say. That would be due to the small size of the DOGE team, the lack of experience of same, the personality of Musk himself, and the inherent conflict of interest. But I absolutely acknowledge the gist of the post, ie. A double standard around Carney and Musk, if they were to do the exact same thing. Also, those who think that LIKING a post is a pledge of Allegiance to one side, take note...

  7. Here ya go, sweetie US Attorney Dropped FIFA Bribery Case at Trump Official’s Behest The Justice Department’s solicitor general effectively ordered Brooklyn prosecutors to abandon two FIFA bribery convictions amid pushback from their Trump-appointed US attorney—potentially unraveling dozens of other international soccer corruption cases and hundreds of millions of dollars in recovered penalties. John Sauer, DOJ’s top Supreme Court litigator, recently relayed to Eastern District of New York chief prosecutor Joseph Nocella that he must ask a judge to overturn guilty verdicts of the former chief executive officer of Fox International Channels and an Argentine marketing company that were unanimously upheldby a federal appellate panel in July, said three people familiar with the situation. …. https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/us-attorney-dropped-fifa-bribery-case-at-trump-officials-behest Someone is getting a return on that half million dollar per year Trump Family Bribe club membership! 10. Carney called china and its relationship with Canada part of the "new world order" That was a phrase linked to shadowy 'davros style' gov'ts by conspiracy nuts and the like and it's got some severely negative connotations and was received very badly So instead of showing it cbc edited it out. They are nothing more than the propaganda wing of the federal liberals.

Don't start something 30 years ahead of its time. That said you see seaweed products on grocery stores everywhere now. A local First Nations bought me out and they're making a go of it.

  14. The unfortunate thing is when you need expertise and have to hire a consultant, they come in 2 varieties 1. Those from personnel services companies and 2. Those that have incorporated themselves and have added themselves to the "lists" You select from those that have bid for the jobs and if from a personnel company, you pay the company and the actual person gets what they contracted to that company for. The others keep the money they are paid. Oh and always the lowest qualified bidder wins

I don't know, but I'm not surprised unions would be arguing the way they do especially where people's jobs are being shipped offshore to call centers or data processing in some developing economy. A lot of Canadians are just finally getting woke to how doing that in private manufacturing sectors in Canada have bitten us in the ass.

  20. Oh, you mean he followed Trudeau's example and let experts guide policy. What really would have helped is if so many RWNJ's weren't losing their shit at the time. Recall how the US pulled the rug out from under the original purpose of the convoy, to protest Ottawa from forcing truckers to get vaccinated. It was always Washington but the anti-vaxxers took their Freakers Ball act on the road anyway. Sure, it's great that every Canadian jackass now has a greater right to do so. A right wing conservative in the PMO during COVID would have been even worse. It would have very likely pandered to this pillar of support propping up the base. It would have been a disaster. Instead of just 2800 deaths estimated to have occurred due to misinformation it would have been closer to 28000.

  22. In a discussion about how great China is or isn’t compared to Canada in regards to people, per capita means everything. You keep trying to make an ignorant point about their economy as a whole, but when they have over a billion people, it’s not that great for each of them.

  23. Its amazing how much you are committed to the release of the Epstein files now but while Biden was President and he was sitting on them, you didn't seem to care all that much about them. Just go ahead and just the Epstein files prove Trump is a pedo. Even if there is no smoking gun in the files you will claim that he is holding back the stuff that implicates him and that is proof that he is a pedo. Youve made your decision already, you only care about it because Trump has control over them and HE isn't releasing them. You were fine with Biden not doing it but now its different. That should be the motto of the Democrat party. "Its different when we do it".

  24. One of the big reasons for China's success is the idea of net zero, which the West enthusiastically embraced without a single government ever explaining the cost to its citizens. Hands up, those of you who knew Trudeau had spent $200 billion on net zero to no effect before Carney said so? The West has spent trillions to make its energy more expensive, while putting hefty taxes on industries that pumped out CO2. This has helped drive manufacturing and industry away from them and over to China and others like China, where electricity is fed by cheap and plentiful coal power, and there are no carbon taxes. China has thrived and Western economies have stagnated since the obsession with global warming took hold. Yes, outsourcing to cheaper manufacturing in China started its rise, but net zero added rocket fuel to that.

  26. 1. That's the point I'm confused on. To me, "Affirmative Action" (which is what it was called in my day) is virtually the same thing. Have a look at the Link I posted. You seem to be saying that it was needed then, and so maybe we're more on the same page than I thought. 2. Yes, you posted those incidents above. I acknowledge your point about the differences in the current context Versus, say, 1961. I also acknowledge that there are political machinations that advance campaigns based on the incidents cited. I'm not familiar with all of the incidents, so I don't have the bandwidth to research and respond to each point. 3. I've never been a fan of the Democrats in the way you describe: being "right". Parties are coalitions that move forward with a collective set of agendas. In the rare case where they have to make a hard moral choice, they tend to break a lot of eggs, let's say. Such as LBJ's Democrats in 1965. 4. I made this point last night, speaking to a friend. Apply it to any of the Canadian governments... What are the big initiatives of the last generation? I would say three trade deals: FTA, NAFTA, China. 5. Yes. And unlike trade deals, Canadians clearly support it.. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/article/most-canadians-still-confident-in-vaccines-but-hesitancy-has-increased-poll-says/

  28. I'm asking you. If you don't know then you're basically admitting you're full of shit. Although that would make you the last person on this board to point it out all the rest having done so ages ago Utterly irrelevant. First off what we have isn't a democracy. So it's kind of a stupid thing to bring up. And secondly he had never seen anything remotely close to what we have. So his thoughts aren't directly relevant to what we're doing today. Would it be possible to ask you to get your head out of your ass and have your own opinion? Or are you only able to regurgitate irrelevant opinions that are 2,000 years out of date?

You don't think that these people implementing and maintaining it think it's a good idea, right? So how does it persist? How is it gaslighting if I'm asking you about your very words? If you want to take something back, or say you don't know why or you don't feel 100% clear on how something happened then just say so. It's not like I'm laying a trap for you, you've got some ideas. I'm just trying to figure out what they are.

Their training was inadequate and they taught her tactics that put her in harms way. Had these two just stood on the side lines blowing whistles like moroʻns, she would still be alive and her kids would not be orphaned. Ice Watch will probably be bankrupt soon.

  37. This is a good ruling following on the heels of the Public Order Emergency Commission in 2023 who said using the Emergency act was reasonable. However, Commissioner Paul Rouleau at the time said the facts supporting his determination were not overwhelming and that other reasonable and informed people could come to a different conclusion. It's good to know where we stand now. BTW have they withdrawn the tanks and sent them back to their depot?

  39. Statement from E. Chipiuk (one of the lawyers who questioned Trudeau on the stand at the commission on invoking the Act): The Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal of Justice Mosley’s decision, confirming once again that invoking the Emergencies Act was unconstitutional. That is a really big deal and the Court of Appeal was unequivocal: “We have already found that Cabinet, on the evidence that was before it and on a proper interpretation of the Act, did not have reasonable grounds to believe that a threat to national security existed.” On the evidence, as many of us said from the beginning, the legal threshold was never met. The federal government knew, or ought to have known, that this appeal was bound to fail. Yet it proceeded anyway, consuming years of time and significant public resources, while hoping the public would simply move on. And it bears repeating: if anything truly went sideways in Ottawa, the primary failures were local. The City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Police Service grossly mismanaged the protest from the outset, creating conditions that escalated rather, and in doing so played directly into the federal government’s political narrative. For years, peaceful protesters were disparaged and slandered, portrayed as dangerous and treasonous. Many were beaten, arrested, and jailed. And we should also be honest about this: what does this say about those who accepted the government’s narrative without question, who repeated claims that have now been judicially rejected, and who looked the other way while fellow citizens were vilified and punished? Now the responsibility shifts to us. This confirms, once again, a profound democratic failure: extraordinary powers deployed unlawfully, Charter rights infringed, and citizens met with force instead of dialogue. Accountability does not end with this judgment. It begins with it. If governments can misuse emergency powers, disparage their own citizens instead of engaging with them, and then attempt to run out the clock through prolonged litigation, democratic accountability survives only if the public actively enforces it. Let’s not fall for this trap again. Let’s stop before fear, propaganda, and politics are weaponized to turn Canadians against their neighbours, friends, and families—while those in power evade scrutiny and consequence. We deserve better. But we must demand better.
