I watched the Russian/Ukraine peace talks last week and it was quite interesting indeed. At the peace talks there were world leaders from America(Trump)Finland. Ukraine, France, Italy, the EU, the UK and a couple of others were together to try and bring about peace to this Russia/Ukraine war which is long overdue. Just one thing? Where was our dear leader from Ottawa? Carney was not there. Where was he? Was he not invited to the meeting? Seeing that Carney has given billions of aid to Ukraine, Carney should have been invited to attend the meeting. What the heck happened here? Well, me personally thinks that maybe Trump did not want him there. Why would Trump want him there anyway? Carney would no doubt have nothing to offer. It is plain to see that Canada is not seen as a team player on the world political scene any longer. As a matter of fact, Canada is no longer seen as a decent ball player in the world and most of the world leaders see Canada as just a not so great country anymore to have to deal with. We are now seen as an insignificant country that is well on it's way to becoming a country full of buffoons and fools. And this will continue until the Canadian lieberal voting fools stop voting for a lieberal party that has done nothing to try and make Canada great. It seems that the lieberals only want to make Canada more woke and more broke and that is it. The only countries that probably do still like us are the ones that continue to get foreign aid in the form of hundreds of billions of Canadian taxpayer's tax dollars. If the point of contention is that the ban is over the entire province, keep in mind that: 1) NB is 1/13th the size of BC and doesn't have nearly the diversity of geography and climate that BC does. A province-wide ban in NB would be like BC restricting access to one of their biggest forests. 2) BC is much more accustomed and prepared to handle forest fires, with significantly more infrastructure, resources and experience dealing with them.

Binding arbitration doesn't actually remove the right to bargain. Both sides bargain before an arbitrator who then decides what is fair. It does remove the right to strike or lockout. Mediators are just there to help the process along, not impose a settlement.

The problem is since forest fires, dead animals and vegetation are vast across the world, it is impossible to say what things emit a given amount of CO2. It is also impossible to determine what percentage of all that man emits with fossil fuels. Those are things that anybody should understand are impossible to determine. Now there is also the varying radiation from the sun, sun spots, explosions on the sun surface, radiation from outer space which all contribute to global warming. The bottom line it is impossible to say man is causing any significant global warming or contributing to climate change. It is just too complex a universe to know. Man-made climate change is pure speculation because many people have the notion that since man has an intellect, invents technological society that he must somehow be the culprit that causes climate change. No proof; just false assumptions.

What's telling is the lack of progress since March followed by an immediate settlement in the face of an unanticipated "real strike." Had the government not intervened, and had AC known up front that it wasn't going to, the strike wouldn't have happened at all IMO. In essence, I think that's what people who blame the government are saying and if so, I tend to agree. AC's tactic here was to use negotiations as a delaying tactic to maintain the status quo (on a 10 year old contract) as long as possible and go directly to arbitration when that tactic eventually failed. For them, the threat of strike action was really no threat at all... until it was. Pretty hard to argue that the collective bargaining process is alive and well under those circumstance... I think.

Arbitration is not taking peoples rights away. How can you argue the end result after only 9 hours of negotiation with that arbitrator?
